    Hip capsule? Do you mean the piriformis? Static stretches and dynamic can and should be done together also SMF all to increase limberness and reduce hindering of movement. Furthermore static stretching does not cause injury it prevents injury by increasing tissue elasticity. Also stretches and self-myofacial rolling help prevent post-exercise soreness and a good combination of all stretch techniques should be applied to any warm-up or cool down routine.
