  • Usually, a good downpour can help wash the ground clean, but storms in Florida this weekend may leave things dirtier than before the rains began.
A thick layer of Saharan dust, part of the massive plume covering much of the tropical Atlantic, is forecast to move across the Florida Peninsula.

So how does this Saharan dust stay airborne for the approximate six-thousand-mile journey across the Atlantic Ocean?

@@seanduggan6747 I thought I was asking a legitimate question but apparently not based upon your reply. I have lived in Florida for over forty five years now watching the news and weather reports on a daily basis. It’s only in maybe the last five years or so that I ever heard the term “ Saharan dust” crossing the Atlantic from the African coast and affecting our weather. That just seems odd to me.

Starting to wonder, does anything good come from Africa to the US besides Michael Jordan and James Brown (the Godfather of Soul)? Could make an argument for Michael Jackson, but he turned himself white before he passed away. RIP MJ (Jackson not Jordan) and James
