Hi Everyone! Torque specs are in the video description and also check out this other video I made where I install and review the Injen Cold Air Intake! ua-cam.com/video/hdgV_OfQXxk/v-deo.html Cheers!
Purchased the full set of TB braces after watching these install videos. They look like well built, functional supports. Thanks for being so thorough and explaining what you are doing and what didn't work during the process.
@@AlexAutoFun Boy, getting those tower brackets on is a chore, but it did work without removing the cowl. Highly recommend the rachet wrenches Alex was using. I bought a set just for this install and it saved me a hassle. My current issue is one of the eye bolts not threading correctly to the nut or the bar. Turns out one is clockwise and the other is counter (left-hand/right-hand threads). Makes sense but had me stumped. Emailed TB and they got me straightened out.
I enjoy a lot of your videos. I think you’re very thorough but quick and direct at the same time. Also appreciate how you structure your videos. Love your work! Keep it up!
Kudos - TB sent me here for install instructions! Question - does the top plate use the one large bolt and the one small bolt in the two plate holes? Based on the size of the holes, It would make sense that it would use two of the large bolts, but they are not the same distance apart so it doesn't fit. If it indeed does use the small bolt, does the brace move around at all since that plate hole is so much larger than the bolt?
Thanks Mark! Ah yes you can see the order of the hardware at around the 3:40 mark. And as much as it flatters me that TB sent you to this video for install instructions, I strongly recommend for your installer to follow the official TB instructions as opposed to my video to ensure everything is installed per TB's guide. Regarding the holes in the plate, correct they are larger which help to be able to slide the plate into location over the existing car studs, once the hardware is fully bolted down, there is no movement. Cheers!
Oh wow, mine came with very detailed instructions and torque specs, you can see the pages right at the beginning of the video under the hardware (TB's owner would even send them signed like autograph which was a nice touch) I know I also saw them on his site at one point, maybe he stopped sending the hardcopy, that is strange, thanks for sharing Mark!@@marka5122
Will you be doing a Rear Sway Bar as well?...IF so let us know if Aftermarket Endlinks are necessary or if the OEM Endlinks are good enough!.....Thanks!!!!!
Hi Penny! I'm considering it. I want to complete installing all the TB Performance braces then see how much difference it made before I make other changes, but yes plenty of upgrades coming, stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Just an FYI.........there are additional washers under the strut mounting bolts for the GR Circuit that apparently not part of the Corolla you put this brace on. Please make a note. They are difficult to pull and reuse where they were initially used.
Hi Rich! Correct, as shown on the video there are no washers on the normal E210 (the service manual also shows there are no washers, only nuts in this location). The TB Performance bar shown on the video is for the standard Corolla. The GR Corolla has many changes including suspension (I believe this includes magnetorheological shocks) this could be one of the reasons you are seeing additional parts and differences between the GR and the normal Corolla. TB Performance does a carry a strut bar for the GR Corolla but I have not tried it yet (but hoping one day I will add a GR to my collection LOL) Cheers!
Hi caleb! So here is how I would compare them now that I experienced both: Cusco is just a work of art, looks gorgeous which is great for car shows and is functional. If performance is your top priority then I would say TB Performance is the way to go, the bar mounts directly to the strut towers which puts it slightly ahead of Cusco as far as chassis bracing. With the bar and plates being black, it almost looks stock (I like the sleeper look) it blends in with the engine bay. Now for some people this may be a downside (it may be possible to get it in other colors if you really want to add bling to your engine bay but I can't confirm that you can). As far as price difference, Cusco is more affordable vs the TB Performance which costs slightly more. Hopefully that helps bud!

Hey! Any updates on the torque specs? I was looking around the internet and couldn’t find anything too concrete I just ordered this part and the truck bar per your videos! They’ve been a major help!

@@AlexAutoFun awesome man! Thank you for the comparison! I did a review on the Cusco strut bar and mentioned you were the reason I bought it lol. You should check it out!
In attempting an install of this very strut tower brace on a GR Circuit edition, there are thick washers found under the plate which you slide the brace end plate under. Not only can this impact the geometry of the front suspension, but what kind of catastrophic outcome could occur if the washer(s) on each side is not removed prior to install, it gets stuck under and between plates, vibrates out under stress, and loosens the front suspension. Then what? Did you uncover those washers and just not mention or are they stuck in there? Or maybe your car does not have them...........Worth investigation? I would like to know the outcome....... Company will not accept returns except for "defective parts"........so I may eat it and uninstall for safety reasons!
