Penhall said Michael was the only rider he feared, because he could pass inside or outside, Bruce tried shafting Michael in this race on lap one but came unstuck as it made Mike more determined to pass him.....still say that on his day Michael Lee was the best rider i ever saw, and i have seen em all.....
and after one world title he didn't even return to defend it gotta say back in the day Ivan Mauger was and to be fair is the greatest even if he did put the elbow in towards the end of his riding days. I don't think many would disagree with me. Peter Collings. Dave Jessup Ole Olsen there were so many back then. I was a Hackney Hawks fella watched many a race at Waterden road remember the saying good old Len Silver used to say Make it a date Friday at 8 good times very missed in todays world.
@@MrKevC No Kev but obviously I followed his career when I became aware of him mid 70's when he came to Belle Vue whilst riding for Wolves...he didn't do the best that night, Belle Vue winning 50-28.
On his day Mr Lee was a superb rider of a natural talent ,could of and should have won more championships in speedway ,great talented rider
A know a said it 3 year ago, but brilliant... Michael Lee, great racer and engine tuner..

I've seen PC smoke Penhall from the back on many occasions...and that was towards the end of his career.
Yes PC was a fantastic rider
Michael was a great rider but a troubled young man.
The master at his best. Lee
I still say Mike Lee best day was winning the longtrack world final
Brilliant
Prawdziwy speedway technika jazdy i umiejętności decydowały o sukcesie. 👍🙋♂️🇵🇱
Uwielbiałem Michaela Lee, światowej klasy jeźdźca, choć czasami kontrowersyjny.
The British were those days the better riders !
Did Penhall ever win? Asking for a friend.
Penhall...over hyped glamour boy...good gating and top notch machinery got him to the top...plenty of other "thinking|" riders better than him.
