Honestly, I wish we got more of the Missy incarnation of "The Master", she wasn't just a great actress, but also I felt that she gave more credence to the idea that "The Master" and "The Doctor" were friends as children.
Love the smaller on the outside line, especially Matt Smith’s reaction. And of course Capaldi’s over the top version is great too But the third best was Rory’s underwhelming reaction.
He didn't do it properly. Because he's the Doctor, he has a complete understanding of the TARDIS dimension, so from him it's sciencey and wordy and ... anything but proper. Well, yes, he pours his heart into it, I give him that, but this is a companion line, they are the ones, who wonder about the Timelord marvel that the TARDIS really is, from the Doctor, it seemed fake, there's no marvel in that, he acted it out for River. Again, I love that moment, but it definitely wasn't done "properly", because the companions do it properly, the Doctor tried hard to impress River and give her hints throughout the whole episode, eventhough he failed, it was still cute.
@@Croftice1 I thought this monologue feeling fake was the point of it? Also he says at the end "i always wanted to do it properly" so I kinda took that part of my comment from it
The Doctor : [Noticing Wilfred looking around the TARDIS] Ah. Right. Yes. Bigger on the inside. Do you like it? Wilfred Mott : I thought it'd be cleaner. The Doctor : Cleaner? I can take you back home right now! That's my favorite one.
Hands down my favorite "bigger on the inside" moment is Bill's long amazed look around the Tardis, followed by asking where the bathroom was, skipping the whole phrase completely. My second favorite is the one you highlighted: David Tennant's exaggerated "is it?"
My favorite bigger on the inside moment is from the Three Doctors when Benton runs into the Tardis along with the Doctor and JO in a effort to escape one of those anti matter creatures sent to earth by Omega. Benton is just standing their in shock and the Doctor says "Aren't you going to say it is bigger on the inside? Everyone else does."
@@GreyHulk2156 That was priceless although nowhere near as priceless as the look on the Brig's face when he enters into the Tardis and realizes the exact same thing.
One of my favourite scenes of a character first entering the tardis is when Bill Potts enters the tardis for the first time in the series 10 episode The Pilot and she describes it as looking like a "really posh kitchen"! 😂😂 Plus can I just say that I now really want to see Sacha Dhawan do strictly come dancing! 😂 Great video, thanks Crispy and Who Culture! 😊
When I first heard that David tennant was going to be the doctor again, I was like ‘i bet he says something about his teeth, he’s GOT to say something about recognising the teeth!’ Then he does and I fist punched the air…. Now you’re saying that that wasn’t even scripted???
Sasha Dhawan's "Rasputin" dance made perfect sense to me, since John Simm had his little dance scene to "I Can't Decide" in season 3 of the revival. For a while I mistakenly thought it had been scripted before learning shortly after the broadcast about Dhawan's contribution.
My favorite bigger on the inside scene is in Twice Upon A Time between Captain Archibald and the 12th Doctor. "It's bigger on the inside" "You know, I thought it might. Im glad it's not just me"
My favourite bigger on the inside moment is Clara from I think the snowmen. I love how she’s just ranting about how awful the doctor is as a person and then upon entering the TARDIS, says a very shocked and frightened ‘little’ finishing a sentence.
This was awesome! I knew there were several unscripted things - like that first kiss in Voyage of the Damned - but not all of them. The one where River enters the TARDIS and meets Eleven was awesome, I understand she accidently hit Matt Smith in the "privates" during one take... OUCH? LMAO
Sacha Dhawan's dancing made that moment work in The Power of the Doctor. If he hadn't done it then it would have dropped like a lead balloon that lacked the creative genius of the Mythbusters. It was commitment to the bit. It elevated the moment from cringe to character. While I was not keen on portraying The Master as a toxic man-baby stalker as a choice, the fact that it stuck as a characterisation and was fully committed to by Dhawan meant that it, at least, worked. Also, did anyone else get Jared Leto vibes from that dance?
9:04 "and you can follow myself...". Aaaaaaaargh!! NO! I can follow myself; you can follow yourself; but it has to be "I can follow you" and "you can follow me". Why does no-one have any idea how to use reflexive pronouns? Or, probably, what 'reflexive' means? It means you use 'itself' to refer back to 'it'. The "self" part is supposed to be a bit of a clue. Pet peeve (one of many); ignore me; you probably will or (should I say?) yourself probably will. Edit: YT doesn't like * next to punctuation, so I had to strip it all out.
I think it's meant as a joke of sorts. Like when people speak about themselves as "my little self", see? Like "you can follow my little self here, or on Instagram or anywhere". But instead of saying it outright "my little self", he used "myself" in its place. I don't see anything wrong with that. I sometimes speak like that myself. It's like using different names for things, funny names, nicknames, making jokes.
@@Croftice1 You might well be right, here, but I hear too often people using 'myself' when they mean 'me' without at all joking. It's as though it were rude to say 'me', so people avoid it. Another avoidance of 'me' comes when people say 'you and I' when the context calls for 'you and me' (eg "the letter was sent to you and me"). Edit: I guess I'm just a grumpy old man.
He played the Master so so perfectly! I just wish there was an explanation as to why he is so mean again after Missy's great redemption arc. 13 doesn't even ask!
When it comes to TARDIS inside revelation, I've always like Clara's expectation breaking, "It's smaller on the outside, " in The Snowmen. I also really wish there could have been some B reel available of the main UNIT gang just kicking around between takes in Pertwee's era. It was mentioned in "Return to Devil's End," a documentary/revisiting of the on location shooting of The Dæmons, that Nicholas Courtney, Richard Franklin, and John Levene, all used to socialize outside of work, going to the pub etc. The really enteraining part of it is Courtney used to call each of the others by their character names, so in a pub somewhere in Britain during the early 70's, you could have heard a familiar voice calling out, "Benton, second round, on the double!" That is what i wish we could see.
What do you mean it's not real? Of course it's real. I just watched it the other day. Nardole was under-rated as a companion. In my opinion, at least. I only knew a couple of these. Good work.

Before the victory? Let's compare stuff, shall we? So in Sound of drums, the Saxon Master dances to the Woodoo Child and the Doctor at that time is captured, no one can crash his victory at this point. The Last of the Timelords ... I can't remember this one well, but again, wasn't the Doctor the Master's prisoner at that point? Not sure, have to check that out. Now the Power of the Doctor, as the SpyMaster/Rasputin is dancing, where's the Doctor? Oh yes, captured in the Dalek chair, helpless, not able to do anything. Was there anyone present, who could defeat the Master? No? Oh, so, wasn't it basically his victory? The forced regeneration, that followed was just a formality so to say.
Possibly the best “hello sweetie” is Capaldi’s doc saying to her.
