The dark continent seems to be based on conspiracy theories surrounding the flat earth map, and the kurta clan massacre for their Scarlet eyes may be a reference to the superstition surrounding blue eyes/evil eye in Turkey and other Muslim countries and the idea that blue eyes are evil. Hisoka murdering Neon after his fight with Chrollo makes a lot of sense. During their fight, Chrollo said that his chances of winning was 100% and asked Hisoka if he still wanted to proceed. That sounded a bit too arrogant even for someone as powerful as Chrollo, unless he was assured of his victory prior their fight thanks to Neon's ability. And considering how Kurapika was busy with his new roles as a Zodiac member, it wouldn't have been that difficult for Hisoka to get to her. After all, he easily managed to kill Teradein , a double star hunter, in his office at the Hunter Association's headquarters.

I always thought it was supposed to be clearly implied hisoka killed her. Like immediately after their fight hisoka killed every ability he used prior to the fight and then she also died. doesn’t really take sherlock holmes to put 2 and 2 together

@@MrJoosebawkz Exactly. It was so overwhelmingly obvious Hisoka was her killer. I guess because Chrollo didn't outright say "lmao I read your fortune that's how I know you're gonna die (:" that allowed unobservant folks to miss it.
If there is a spy in the Phantom Troupe i.e. Kalluto or Illumi, it would make sense for them to kill Neon, so that their plotting and betrayal won’t be exposed in the fortune readings
Also a good Reason why a Zoldyck would kill the girl, it would affect their business, though It's shown they don't kill people without being hired.
Seems like that'd essentially just be a Hisoka kill, but indirectly.

@@manguy01 Yes, as more than likely Illumi is working with Hisoka. Though I also think that having two Zoldyks in the Phantom Troupe is very suspicious. I would not be suprised if Illumi and Kalluto team up to carry out their own personal Zoldyk agendas

I'm 5:31 in and I'm just gonna put my prediction here: I think it's Hisoka. He has the most to gain from her death. Once she's dead, Chrollo wouldn't be able to see Hisoka coming via a prediction, or know how to best counter him.

I'm pretty sure it was hisoka. Hisoka vowed to never give the troupe the upper hand ever again. Predicting the future is such an advantage thus hisoka had to take neon asap.

I think Hisoka has taken this so serious since he died due to his self confidence, and Chrollo Knew that. But Now... he will not make any more miskates again. So first thing is first, he gotta kill that girl before going to the ship so Chrollo won't know any prediction and Hisoka is going to be totally free. Thats what I think.
I feel that a bigger plot twist reveal would be that her dad actually killing Neon as in the Greed Island encountered he looked like a man who lost all his composure and as we all know he only valued his daughter because her ability brought fortune and without that he doesn't even consider her the same person. Plus it would show more of that sadistic nature if he actually killed her

I really like how Hisoka changed after being defeated and tasting death. Before he was all about a fair fight with his opponent having all their tools, but now he wants blood and he's not willing to take any chances. Before it was about fighting but now it's just about killing. And Hisoka was already incredibly dangerous in a straight up fight but now we get to see just how dangerous he can get, not to mention that his nen is more powerful than ever. I wonder if this new Hisoka would've fared against the ant royal guard.
Fr this perspective change is massive for a man with Hisoka’s ability. He enjoyed the fight to its fullest extent by “putting his life on the line” but his confidence ultimately led him to fight someone with the skills and intellect to kill him. Now after his defeat and post-death nen boost he will still enjoy it although instead of a fight he wants a massacre fueled by his desire to be the strongest again.
He wouldn’t fare against Meruem, Hisoka would get his head torn off in seconds. If Netero could only hold Meruem off temporarily Hisoka even with his power up would get annihilated. Since Hisoka is still not stronger than Netero was.

He lead Meruem into a trap, launched a sneak attack and then gave Meruem the condition that he had to defeat him without killing him to get his name. All the while going all out and trying to kill Meruem. If Netero couldn’t scratch Meruem with all of that Hisoka doesn’t stand a chance no matter what tricks he tries.

Interesting. I saw a video about this stating the reason Kurapika rose to the ranks of the Nostrade family is because Neon's father asked him to return Ghost Writer. Hisoka had 0 motive to kill Neon as he doesn't care about fate. The theory is Neon was the first person to have Steal Chain used on. Kurapika used her as a test dummy.
U misunderstand tho. Hisoka does have motive. In order to gain the type of victory Hisoka wants he needs to cut down the abilities that give Chrollo too much of a forsight even b4 the real physical fight he's aiming for. So he's taking a page from Chrollo's books, and is preparing kinda like Chrollo did, so that they could have a more, let's say, level match-up?

I like the last option because it just makes the most sense. Kurapika and several other members of the Nostrade family are currently aboard the Black Whale, but we haven’t had a single mention of Neon being killed. Not everyone is as cold and rational as Kurapika, so I have a hard time believing they would have just shrugged something like that off. Especially not a character like Melody.
I could also see "fixing what Chrollo did to Neon" as an explanation for how he developed the ability stealing chain in the first place.
He didn't have it in Yorknew, or else he would have just taken Pakunoda's ability, read her mind to identify and locate the Troupe, and gone hunting; but I could see him tinkering with the idea after seeing that Chrollo can steal other people's Hatsu.
I think it's the reverse. Why would the people who were Neon's bodyguards suddenly be able to set off on a dangerous journey without her? She's still part of the Nostrade family, so she would be a target. If not for her abilities, then at least for ransom.
If Kurapika was able to take over the Nostrade family, it makes sense to keep the people who are already working for him employed. Just because Neon died, that's no reason to fire Basho and Melody. Especially since he's already formed somewhat of a bond with them.
Regardless of whether or not Melody shrugged it off, life does go on, and having financial security is a good thing. Kurapika is also aware of Melody's true goal and on good terms with her, so maintaining that relationship makes sense, since he's another pair of eyes to stay on the lookout for the cursed music. And being in a position of authority at the Nostrade family might put even more people at her disposal.
It's also unlikely for them to bring it up all of a sudden when busy with work. Kurapika and his allies can't contact each other whenever or say whatever they please at this moment, so that makes it even less likely. It's something that might come up between Kurapika and Melody at some point in the future, though. Just don't expect it to take the form of someone asking what happened to Neon since there's not really a reason to ask that in-universe. Everyone who knows who she is should know whether she's alive or not. And neither are you likely to just reminisce over someone's death.
@@MegaGullas Gon and Killua were still in the Troupe's hands at that time. Kurapika couldn't take the risk of attacking the Troupe with their lives at stake. And after the trade was completed, Kurapika doesn't encounter Pakunoda again.
How can you kill something that is indestructible by mortal means? Pretty sure Hisoka isn't faster than Netero.
Hisoka can kill her, but Neon's also under Kurapika's protection, right? think once Kurapika knew of Hisoka's intention he found a way to disable Neon's Nen itself, cutting off Chrollo's access to her nen ability. Probaby a version of judgement chain that's weaker but can be used outside the spiders.
Let’s be real, at this point in the story Kurapika is one of the scariest nen users in the world, and I don’t think people who know what he’s capable of would go around making an enemy of him lightly. He’s a nen genius whose ability works like a Swiss Army knife of hatsu, and he obviously holds a grudge like no other, so the risk-reward of a Hisoka or Chrollo messing with Neon (whose ability is useful but not absolute) wouldn’t be very worth it.
I think it’s actually very possible that Kurapika was the one who restored Neons ability, with a condition being that she return his family’s eyes to him. People just assume that the eyes introduced during Yorknew were just automatically recovered by Kurapika, but they actually belonged to Neon. Neon doesn’t seem like the type who would easily give up one of her prized collections, so it stands to reason that Kurapika would have to give something of even more value, like the ability that made her family rich.
They got Kortopi's copy of the eyes. Those only last 24 hours.

Even with the fake eyes Kurapika held no ill will towards her so to me it doesn't make sense. She's just a weird collector I bet the some of the other items she has were acquired questionably.
I'm going to predict option #6. Neon is alive. Here's my thought process: After the death Squala at the hands of the PT, she saw how her maid broke down. She can't use Lovely Ghost Writer, making her really see that her father just doesn't give two shits about her. She asked Kurapika for help faking her own death, and he realizes as long as Chrollo had her ability, he would know she was alive. So, he asks around and learned of Abengane (or even some other Nen exorcist, he's not the only one). Once Neon has her ability back, Kurapika helps her fake her death by getting her to promise to live a normal life (no collecting human body parts, or he'd threaten to kill her himself). He sets a trusted associate to keep an eye on her. Then, he uses Light's weakening position to take over the reign (maybe have Light killed by a rival family). Once Light's out of the picture, Kurapika can use his intellect to build the family into something else, using other methods to gain money and power. Kurapika has hold of the Nostrade Family. Neon's got her ability, not Chrollo. Everyone except Chollo is happy. Since Kurapika helped hide her, I doubt finding her would be an easy task. (Sorry about the length, I'm having a bad bout of insomnia and I can't sleep, so I'm rambling a little bit.

This would only make sense if kurapika could read the hxh manga. How the fuck could he know about all the restrictions and abilities of skill hunter? Togashi is really thoughtful about what his characters know and what not, this gives hxh this nice dynamic
@@d3rduck he doesnt have to know everything just that she doesnt have her ability and chrollo does, it could simply be treated by a nen exorcist cause there hasnt been to much exploration on those powers at all

There's 1 major argument in favour of her being alive though. Namely the fact that we don't know why or how Kurapika developed steal chain. And it'd be 100% in character for him to create an ability like this specificly to try and counter Chrollo. Especially since Kurapika is probably one of the few people who knows Chrollo can steal abilities, seeing as he also did it to some other maffia members.

I'm leaning on your last option my man..This option will give the fans a 'SURPRISE FACTOR' which every author wants....One thing you forgot to add in that option is that Kurapika is very likely to deduce that Chrollo is the one who steals Neon's ability or Kurapika might have know it on the moment that Hisoka attempts to kill Neon..He might have fake Neon's death because he knows Chrollo or Hisoka will relentlessly targets her...Or Kurapika and Hisoka might have made a deal.....Remember Kurapika is one of the most intelligent character in the series..

yup that would perfect sense. we could have a flashback to kuripaka watching the fight on his tv and then deduce that hisoka will be out for blood or HIskoa just calls him and asks kurapika to do him a solid.

Well chrollo nen steal ability is only possible if the person he stole from is still alive. If he can't use the ability anymore then neon is dead.
Now this is assuming if her being resesatated doesn't mean chrollo has to steal the ability again to use it.
Sadly what happend with the nen ability sun and moon was a very unique circumstance that likely won't be able to happen again.
But hisoka killing neon makes sense
That being said if neon dying and then being resesatated could also be a loopole to lifting the nen curses since most curse condition are till death, not after/beyond.
So it's possible she escaped koropika curse by dying, then having someone bring her back it moments after dying.

I honestly think the mafia killed her off and her father. Since she couldn’t use her ability anymore to keep him afloat they got rid of them.

the mafia literally has no use killing them. mafias don't just kill anyone they dislike, because they're run like businesses, they care about getting money and keeping their crimes low-key. plus all he did was give the whole community more money

They tolerated him to gain there fortunetelling and make finical moves and life moves based off what his daughter said.
His back up was only backing him up due to her. He already spent a Fortune trying to get the scarlet eyes and said he can make that back using her. Never happens.
This is anime not real life. The other characters in the show already didn’t like him and showed us that. Once his way of being a mafia member was gone he was easy picking.
His finical back up can easily allow him to get killed Because he was of no use anymore. Can easily piss off a person once there usefulness is gone. Enemy come and take over. This is What happens to you when you rule by another hand instead of gaining power the old fashion way and lost his and his daughter life because of it.

2. The mafia is against killing people for no logical/money making reason. We see this in the Black Whale arc at one point.
3. The Mafia understands the intricacies of nen, so they have no reason to kill neon and lose her abilities forever when they could just let her be, as she's completely inoffensive, and maybe wait until she gets her powers, or not, it's sweat off their backs.
4. Kurapika is still working for Nostrade. His bodyguard group is on their name, and he still needs support from the underworld to search for the eyes. He won't just let them die like that. It would mean losing his footing in the underworld, and would also be a bad look if, as the boss of security for the family, he lets them all die. He's never getting any jobs or any respect again.
Your whole argument is "they killed her out of pride/dislike" when all the logic points otherwise.
I think even Hisoka killing her makes more sense, but even then, Kurapika wouldn't let that happen.
@@cartielsilver That was 2 people. One of which is dead. We don't know how the general mafia community thinks about them. Kurapika, Bassho, and Melody are still called Nostrade family members. Makes no sense to call themselves that if the Nostrades are all dead. They also don't act like their old bosses were murdered. Their would be small hints in their mannerisms or even when Mizai initially met Kurapika.
@@Ryuksgelus kurpika essentially took over the establishment. The family name will not change when the origination and the people that work for them still belong to the family. The Nostrade family organization is already established and comes with with power already. This is why Kurapika was given the title “ Young Boss”
The only thing that changed was the position of the head of the family. The boss now is Kurapika and with his type of field of work it doesn’t matter if the Dude died or not. Death with bosses are normal in his field of work. Kurapika goals are the scarlet eyes and that alone.
The whole time I’m thinking she’s still alive and glad I stayed until number 6. I believe there’s high possibility that she is still alive and that Kurapika aided in the restoration of her power using a nen purger. Hisoka could even be instrumental in referring Abengane to Kurapika because they did have a working relationship as hunters. It’s also known to Hisoka how Chrollo got the power and where he got it from and knowing Kurapika worked for the Nostrades, it’s easy money to refer Abengane and also greatly beneficial to his plans against the whole PT. Knowing that Kurapika is the Nostrade’s top guard, I find it unlikely for Hisoka to get under Kurapika’s skin by killing the very person he’s guarding. Even if Chrollo found out she is still alive, he is in no position to hunt Neon himself to steal her ability a second time.
If Chrollo's stealing would kill the original user after some time, that would make it more powerful, and hence, need more conditions to be fulfiled.
It is easier for Chrollo to steal, if it doesn't kill.

Maybe chrollo made the contract in return for the bookmark. A contract where the person whose ability he steals automatically dies. This can prove to be dangerous for chrollo and hence it have him the bookmark.
It's not 100% confirmed that she's dead, she might have recovered her powers somehow (with the help of Kurapika, since he worked for his father which was obsessed with Neons ability) and that's why Chrollo can't use them anymore
Would be an interesting twist, but the further they get away from her character the more that obvious implication that she's dead seems real.
i think neon's dead as chrollo loses her powers while on the ship, where kurapika also is located; it wouldn't make sense unless neon were close to kurapika during the succession war arc on the BW ship, but that doesn't seem to be the case

That doesn't mean it is that cut and dry and there could not be a twist down the road. Because of how off-hand it was seems unlikely to me that she actually is dead. Not even unlikely, just a blunt tell that she is not dead because of how casual the tell was.

There's a chance that if this theory is true that it may be based on the myth of Loki tricking another god into killing Baldur, in this myth loki disguises himself as an unassuming old woman to learn the weaknesses of the allegedly invulnerable god of light Baldur who deeply loved by all the other gods which is similar to how much all the phantom troupe members love each other and once loki learns what the weakness of Baldur is, Loki tricks Baldur's blind brother hodr the god of darkness into killling him. If the theory about illumi secretly being hisoka is true, then not only does hisoka disguising himself as illumi perfectly mirrors Loki disguising himself as an old woman to learn Baldur's weakness but that it could be allude to hisoka disguising himself as illumi so he can trick some of the other phantom troupe members (who essentially see each other as siblings) into killing each other.

I am still impressed that literally on the spot after reading 1 copy of a Neon poem prediction (his own) and hearing a couple others read out loud once by Chrollo, Hisoka was able to texture surprise not only several lines of poetry but in the style of Neon's ghostwriter (Chrollo has several poems about the troupe now so would be suspicious if Hisoka's was of "roses are red violets are blue" quality lol) AND make it a plausible future given the context of his situation. Does this man's genius know no limit? :D
as for who "killed" her.... I am not 100% convinced she is dead though death is the mostly likely way (and so far only way we know of) that can delete you from Chrollo's book. She could have died and been revived. It's a rather common trope in supernatural or martial arts fantasy stories to have poisons or other spells that can temporarily kill people to misguide their opponents (such as tricking Chrollo so he doesnt go after her again) only for them to come back after the effects wear off. It is possible that Kurapika acquired something like this to restore Neon's powers. But yah, I could also believe she is dead. HxH is a dark story and large volumes of people die every arc. I get that Hisoka gains from this, but I am not sure we will get as basic an answer as Hisoka killed her.
I will hand it to Togashi that after so many years since he wrote York New he didnt forget Chrollo has this ability or just ignore it and never address it lol. He made sure he removed it (somehow, up to our speculation so far!). Maybe he even had a plot thread already planned for its removal that is eventually going to be revealed in this arc now.
Light doing the deed could be possible so as to avoid blackmail. If hypothetically, neon is captured by a rival gang and they lie about her getting her ability back, he has to deal with the headache of possible paying millions to billions of dollars just to get his ordinary daughter back. Or he kills her so if she does get captured then the rival gang can’t do anything if her power returns.
I don't think Kurapika taking the ability would work. Remember in the Chimera Ant arc, Shalnark tries to control an ant, but fails because it's already being controlled. The ant controlling it says it's first come first served for manipulators. It could very well apply to stealing abilities as well.
Well that's for taking control, not for stealing nen abilities. Plus Chrollo's ability were very unique in that the ability was being borrowed from the person, the person had to continue to live in order to supply the power from what I understand. So if Kurapika were to try to take it, it theoretically could work unless the author says so. It would be like redirecting water from a river I imagine

I saw Neon on the manga alive and kickin with the return of her fortune telling. Chrollo broke the rules of her fortune telling by reading the fortunes of his comrades. that's why the ability returns to neon.

A lot of people seem to underestimate Chrollo by thinking that he needed Neon’s fortune telling to win. It does increase his ability to make the right decisions on how to go about things but I don’t think he needs it to win a fight. It greatly increases the odds of winning but if the fortune gives a line that says he would die, I don’t think he would even be there to fight. The fortune telling would by then just become a burden and something that would taunt him every time he uses it. I think he would just rather get rid of it instead of using it at that point.
I sometimes think that Neon saying that she doesn't read the fortunes she writes was a hidden condition. Not following results in the fortunes being less accurate somehow.
Before Chrollo stealing, he must ask the users about their nen ability, so if Neon says I do not read the fortunes bcoz it will have a less accurate, then why do u think Chrollo will read the fortunes?

Did togashi ever say when he's dropping some chapters? I heard his back was acting up again, i wish he would take an assistant on that draws or switch to a bi-weekly schedule. I don't think anyone would blame him and if weekly shonen jump allowing these long hiatus I would think they'd let him just skip an issue each week.

I believe the real murderer is number #7: Togashi himself. NO WAIT, hear me out. What I meant is, it becomes increasingly difficult to write further arcs with the Spiders if they always have the ability to see the future. It just becomes an endless driller of plot holes, and can get in the way of good scenes/situations that Togashi might want to tell.
As to the actuall killer, hisoka or Nostrade himself are my top choices.

I agree. A super useful ability even for plot reasons can trivialize future plot points. So I can respect Togashi for killing her off. Story wise I Agree Hisoka has the most to gain. Kurapika despite his pain of seeing his families' eyes knows that she's just a "innocent" collector. Light Nostrade doesn't make rational sense but if he went insane maybe. If she's still alive classifying Chrollo's ability as a nen curse seems too much of a jump. Togashi very much could if he wanted but it seems a little lazy. Or inversly maybe Togashi can use this as a twist weakness to his ability.

There is option #7 that I always thought of, what if when kurapika used the judgement chain on Chrollo making him lose his nen as well as his skill hunter. so all the abilities that were stolen were deleted because his hatsu vanished for good. implications for this argument being that all of the abilities that Chrollo used were never any of his stolen abilities prior to his nen curse.

Hear me out….what if Chrollo’s power of stealing abilities and using it eventually kills the original owner of said and used ability but on a timer? Hence why he so strong since he more than likely added those rules to his nen? So if he used people close to him, his nen would be that much stronger but at a cost.

I assumed it was either Hisoka or Neons dad. Hisoka obviously wants to weaken chrollo. Neon's dad because crazy and despair filled after Neon lost her ability, so he might have lost it with Neon and ended up killing her. I think Neon's dad saw her more as a tool for his success but she ended up failing him, so he took it out on her.
Or Light could've murdered her because without her power, he has no income to support her lavish demands (if I remember correctly, she loves shopping) or his love for her was superficial and she became a burden to him after she lost her powers.

I always had a suspicion that Kurapika was the one who killed her based off the last few panels of that family containing Kurapika's reaction to the family's downfall. His Motive being that he couldn't let the connections and power he built up with the family continue to be squandered by the Nostrade family. So he essentially mutinied and took over the family, perhaps to maintain what he's built, perhaps to strengthen his ties to other organizations that were at odds with the Nostrades.

Dang. I never would’ve come up with the theory of Kurapika using Steal Chain to recover Neon’s ability 😂 personally, I think that’s the most likely option. If Hisoka had killed her, I think there would’ve been some type of mention that Kurapika and Hisoka had a showdown. Here’s another random thought-before departing on the Black Whale, Kurapika was introduced as the “Head” of the Nostrade family. Perhaps he became the head because he killed Light and Neon 😳

I will say that Kurapika hasn't had a moment of mourning for Neon - which he likely would, if he knew she had died. His complete lack of such thoughts is my strongest indicator that he either 1) doesn't know she died, 2) had a role in reclaiming her power as you suggest, or 3) both, with 1 after the other.

In my opinion, due to Kurapika's lack of reaction, it was an internal thing, so it was her or her father or even a natural cause like a disease, besides I think Togachi did it to leave CHROLLO with less advantage and not need to repeat these skills more with various riddles so i say he wont talk about NEON again, i think he just wanted to get rid of this skill and not create a mystery about NEON's death in my opinion.

I think it’d be fun if it was like a combo of some of the theories. Like Kurapika is at a standstill. His access to the Hunter site and leadership has kept the family afloat, but he’s at a standstill on finding the eyes. He comes up with the theory that his Steal Chain could cancel Neon’s nen curse. Figures he has nothing lose and best case he gains access to one use of Lovely Ghost Writer. But he can’t predict his own future. So he makes a deal with Neon. Her ability back for the knowledge he needs. And she agrees, but asks Kurapika to use his one use of the ability to tell her father’s fortune (she’s not really welcome in his increasingly unstable presence). Kurapika agrees, makes the attempt…and it works! He tells his former boss and uses the fortune telling on him to prove it. Ability goes back to Neon, Kurapika gets his fortune:

But beware as crimson eyes turn inward
You will cease under their continued stare
Meanwhile, old Light eagerly open his fortune, eager to hear of his revival:

I would hope it's Hisoka, he's already committed heinous crime whereas Kurapika would have the most to gain technically, but I don't want to think Kurapika went down that dark a path without us knowing while he's now the hero protecting Woble even though it is only a burden to him. I doubt Togashi would write it that way anyways.
I'm tunnelling on Light Nostrade. He also lost a truckload of money to buy the Scarlet eyes for Neon, intending on recovering that money through his gleeful daughter's predictions. To make matters worse, he couldn't even sell the eyes back once his daughter became useless to him because they were seemingly stolen (in reality, the eyes were fakes set to disappear after hours anyways).
I can see how Nostrade could go mad over this and kill his own daughter and then either committing suicide or being arrested, clearing the path for Kurapika to take over the family

I mean their is another curse exorcist. Who was actually ON greed island and picked up by Hisoka+The spiders.
Hisoka wants to fight someone at their strongest, SURE. But lovely writer could just make it to where the spiders just end up endlessly dodging him. He could’ve had her curse removed as a precaution before removing the curse from Chrollo and then fighting him.
He also could’ve done the same after the fight before boarding the ship wand chasing them. But after killing two of them.
Kurapika approached Light and told him he had only one solution. Maybe he created his last ability for this Situation or one similair but under the condition that light gives up his business.
I love seeing these little mystery/'whodunit'-type videos. Would love to hear your thoughts on the Silent Majority user's identity--maybe lay out some of the more popular theories/potential suspects.
i won't discard hisoka as the possible killer but i think it's more likely her father killed her in a fit of rage or something like that since he was unstable at that point, plus kurapika was still a bodyguard for them and hisoka killing neon and causing her father to break even more and endangering the family in a crusade to hunt hisoka not caring about what happens, could put kurapika plans in danger so either we are missing an amazing fight there or it didn't happen.
On the other hand light killing neon then regreting it or neon killing herself could allow kurapika to take over easily if light breaks down even more and leaves everything to kurapika since he wasn't capable at the moment or something along those lines
The last one is also really fitting as it could work as an ace up your sleeve and HxH loves to have twists, heck even chrollo triying to check if neon is dead or not could work for kurapika as a trap for the spider.
I love your theories man and the evidence you gave is pretty good but I've read the light novels and she's alive. Nen abilities is more complex than you think hopefully with Hunter Hunter coming back the community will get a little bit more clarity on Nen Class and rank because it's really complex.
I think Neon was alive. The reason why the lovely ghost writer was DISAPPEAR in his book because there were conditions which chrollo violate while using the ability
1. The Owner of the ability cannot predict his own future which chrollo did
2. Neon didnt want to read or get involve in her prediction which Chrollo did again.
thats why the Lovely Ghost Writer came back to its originl owner.
