I remember with pleasure 2009 was a great year with the Spies-Haga challenge for the title and the Italian duel Biaggi (Aprilia) and Fabrizio (Ducati) then also Simoncelli who at Imola proved to be a protagonist with a podium like a true fighter
we need a race weekend in monza back for WSBK !
2009 was a great fun season. I'm so glad to be able to watch this again 🙂
Watching Johnny win on that underpowered Honda kinda reminds you of how he's having to flog that Kawasaki now.

I met spies when i was working for the ama hooters suzuki team in 04. Season. His mom mary was his mgr. And he was soon to be the yoshi suzuki golden boy, mladdin and yates were his teammates, and schwantz was his coach. He was a champion from 06 to 09. 3ama. And first year world sbk champ. Humble and polite always was mr spies. A real class act

This was back in those times, when women were flattered, when men looked at them. All those umbrella girls are girls who know, they are nice and are more than happy, to earn money to being looked at, than to be the whole day working in a supermarket or as a waitress.
The past battle seem better than the present.

Man! The "Suzuki" bike is awesome. It is such a shame that Suzuki started to fall around this time. Leon Haslam did do something for "Suzuki" in 2010 to keep them going a little longer. The main problem I think "Suzuki" had was no loyal riders! Most of the riders would stay with "Suzuki" about a year or two & then leave. Only one who really stayed loyal to "Suzuki" throughout his whole career was "Yukio Kagayama", & he wasn't that much of a good rider to make any effective stance for "Suzuki"!?? One of the best looking bikes on the grid, & no one wanted to stay loyal to them.......SAD😢.
