I will try it out of desperation, even if it's only a few months it will break up the monotony. Great detail in this video and transparency. I don't mind soft p2w {since it's such a technical meaning I say soft} but if it's too excessive then it definitely steers me away.
Damn, you sum up my own feelings of desperation pretty well. But I think I'll probably skip T&L since it hits none of my soft spots (freedom of choice, gathering, crafting, overworld gameplay) and is build around everything I dislike: PvP, Guild Content, Daily/Weekly/Season checkboxing, dungeons.

Your comment made me think about it and in the past 19 years there was only one single year where I did not play any online games (because I tried to quit gaming and it did not work out in the long run). But the ingredients for the MMO I stick with for longer than just two or three months have to be just right. The majority aims at another audience than myself and that's totally fine. I know what I like and dislike and sometimes there are surprises where an expected compromise game turns out much better than I thought.

I will say the cbtt on series x was impressive. I was apart of the no1 guild that captured and successfully defended Stone guard for the entirety of the tech test. while mnkb is an absolute must for me to get behind the game seriously, i look forward to hopping back in for the open beta to see the current version changes as i believe we got the raw version on the last one. The seamless world was an instant sell point
Korean server player here, the game is perfectly balanced in terms of pvp. Do not afraid with the "Pay2win" aspect, it almost didnt impact anything in pvp especially in large scale pvp. I'm a f2p player since day 1 until now i can kill everyone at siege war. The game itself is really fun and worth to play and btw the game is casual friendly. CANT WAIT FOR GLOBALLLL !!!! (ps sorry for my bad english)

(Im a newly father btw so my playtime isnt that long) just ignore all those youtubers that saying “pay2win” ruining TNL without playing the game until end game gear. Especially if you using greatsword/dagger weapon combo u can almost kill everyone except Tank. When using that kind of weapon even u can win in a 1v1 against “whale” players

Nice review honestly. I have been checking out this game every once in a while, it started to look like an overhauled Lineage 2 which i am very fond of, i hope they don't screw people over with the typical overly aggressive monetization down the line, kind concerned for the PVP focus since most of other MMOs which were initially intended as PvP oriented games (or simply tried to incorporate PvP in the progression system) either blatantly failed or had to heavily shift focus trying to save game later on, hopefully they are able to expand on PvE well enough. All things considered, I'm interested and willing to give it a fair shot on release.
For NA players thinking about it, played kor server tryhard. It's not light p2w its on another level at one point had 2 battle-passes in store & if you think new world had mega corps controlling servers just you wait. Unless amazon completely revamps drops, bots & the store game will be shortly lived. Bones/graphics were good and I had some solid fun but got to the point fairly quickly where the grind wasn't worth my time.

@AdamNisenziSpisak why? It is simple, if you were a WoW player, you won't like it (pve is bad and out dated). If you were a lineage 2 player, you won't like it ( pvp is bad and not open world).
So much more weapons they should have added…. musket,Grimoire,Spear,Scythe,Hammer…. The list goes on. Hopefully this gets enough support to just keep adding more and more
All of this sounds amazing to me. I can def see me getting 300 hour out of T&L, 500-800 if I get lucky and find a good guild to play with. And at this point; I'm 'fine' with having to spend $30 a month to have my best shot at 'keeping up' w gear and score.
Can't believe he didn't mention that enhancing and upgrading your gear can not ''fail'' like in BDO and other games. Edit: Part of the video is now outdated. They just fixed the p2w. Traits are not a problem anymore and the auction house is now 90% useless.
as much as i hate fail mechanics, they include Pity system and downgrade protection just to keep the playerbase constantly on the grind. T&L is no different just because its not failing, its still the most tedious shit to do. esp trying to reach level 9 gear.

Yeah. While I don't mind the gameplay aspect of PvP in fact, I enjoyed it a lot back in Age of Wush, the issue that, PvP it is very community/guild driven. You NEED ingame friends/people/allies to truly enjoy it. And most of the time guilds expect you to dedicate every second of your life to being in game. So big flaw and big nope.
Combat is really fun for me ,I like the block skill when monster are around the sound effect timing for press block and rotate skill CD is really fun to play. (i play sword and shield)

I played the CBT, tbh if they crack down on the amount of allies you can have then the game will be good. It’s basically the biggest guild with the most allies wins. There’s no such thing as individual play it’s all based on numbers which is stupid because in my serve I was in one guild was taking all the events all the bosses etc it was dumb
it is worth. it costs as much as NEW WORLD but its already a lot better. the narration lady reminds me of fable style of narration. traversal is amazing

I think the Solisium's blessing is worth it IMHO, $6.99 by it self is not that expensive, plus its included if you have Prime. That's really all you need for this game unless you want glamour.
Game has me interested, the combat looks a bit slow (although I am coming from BDO and Lost Ark so that makes sense,) but my main concern is the heavily group/guild centered progression. If the game doesn't have a great launch or as soon as player numbers start dropping, not being able to solo everything will become a problem.
The only THING that I LIKE on this game is there is no FAIL on upgrades which is a blessing to the gods 😭🙏, I raged quitted on BDO after spending $1000 for an upgade and miserebly failed... I was so devastated and I could not even face my guild mates, sheesh, we have all been together for like 3 years... thou, in the end, I did let them know that am going to quit... BDO is a gambling in terms of upgrading... it was hell I'll tell you that, yes, I admit, I do not have the same grit that other gamers have but spending money just to catch on to upgrades? I did think twice before I quit.
Hope there will be more PVE content fro small group of friends and not just guild contetnt for massive number of players, or just hope in 2030 Riot MMO will save us all. Copium :D
Is there a quick play mechanic for dungeons/instances etc in this game? I am too old to be in Guilds or trying to coordinate with people. I just want to play game.
Then maybe you shouldnt be looking at mmorpgs at all.. Even if it feels a little less grindy than others, mmo end game is still inevitably just grinding stuff and other repetitive chores.

Grappling hook is not an ability. It's an interaction object that you experience in the tutorial. You will be finding them often in the world and in some dungeon instances.

when it comes to Throne, I've learned to avoid your videos, Kanon - I think you're a bit biased towards the game tbh - but this one is extremely grounded and you talk about all the good points as well as the bad in a very unbiased and objective way, which I really appreciated. For the game to be worth playing as an MMORPG. It has to be more than just hardcore competitive stuff. It has to be more than just PvP & difficult dungeon bosses. Having a good story rather than fetch quests. Likeable/memorable NPCs. Things to do besides grinding & PvP.
Wand and bow is the best for support build. Problem is the healing is trash imo as a healer main. Having 2 heal ticks on a long cool down, aoe heal with another long cool down. 4/10 for me playing healer really meh, in PvP I was tanky tho and it was more about lightly adding heals so people have more hp before they die. That was the first CBT so no idea if they reworked the healing. Also disliked you can't hide secondary weapon. Or just not use one.
It is free to play , so atleast we are going to give it a try , im sceptical because ofc it is NCsoft , im ok with some kind of battle pass or something like this so we can support the game, but im not gonna be a COW so they can milk me , competing with no lifers and whales , no take you.
19:50 I know nothing about this game but logically speaking if Guilds control these omega weapons then there are no F2P players getting them. Yes there are players getting them for free but these players belong to the best Guilds who are only recruiting the highest spenders or making sure their highest spenders are the ones who get the amazing drops. Maybe I'm wrong about this with Throne since I don't know the intricacies of the game but this is how it works in every other MMO with a similar system.
Get better, get into good guild, problem solved. Stop blaming others for something when progression of your character only depends on you, not on others.
The fact that this game has mechanics where guild can control loot . Loot can be stolen and just the systen making it harder for solo players .. its a no go for me.

This is insanely good. MS2 and Dragonica were insane when it comes to farm necessary to MAYBE upgrade your gear... (Both being Korean MMOs)

Played on console closed beta and loved great sword+ staff early game and then switched to dagger and staff late game for bossing.

Lineage 2 player here. This game looks very familiar. I miss the (very) old Lineage 2 days when lvl76 was the max.
I think the Solisium's blessing is worth it IMHO, $6.99 by it self is not that expensive, plus its included if you have Prime. That's really all you need for this game unless you want glamour.
The game already looks faster than final fantasy online. So that is good
Game has me interested, the combat looks a bit slow (although I am coming from BDO and Lost Ark so that makes sense,) but my main concern is the heavily group/guild centered progression. If the game doesn't have a great launch or as soon as player numbers start dropping, not being able to solo everything will become a problem.
Can you trade items freely? Like Lineage 2?
The only THING that I LIKE on this game is there is no FAIL on upgrades which is a blessing to the gods 😭🙏, I raged quitted on BDO after spending $1000 for an upgade and miserebly failed... I was so devastated and I could not even face my guild mates, sheesh, we have all been together for like 3 years... thou, in the end, I did let them know that am going to quit... BDO is a gambling in terms of upgrading... it was hell I'll tell you that, yes, I admit, I do not have the same grit that other gamers have but spending money just to catch on to upgrades? I did think twice before I quit.
Hope there will be more PVE content fro small group of friends and not just guild contetnt for massive number of players, or just hope in 2030 Riot MMO will save us all. Copium :D
Is there a quick play mechanic for dungeons/instances etc in this game? I am too old to be in Guilds or trying to coordinate with people. I just want to play game.

cross play yes, but I believe open beta nothing is saved. PC, XBOX, & PS5.
real question is it requires as second job time consume? hate grinding on games just to acquire virtual item for hudreds of life hours..

Then maybe you shouldnt be looking at mmorpgs at all.. Even if it feels a little less grindy than others, mmo end game is still inevitably just grinding stuff and other repetitive chores.

uh, you can't? they get farmed and they listed on the AH, all items that are purchasable are farmed within the game by a player (or bot kekw)
The one and only reason that i am waiting the release of this game in EU is because i want to see if the fcking collaboration between NCSOFT and AGS is going to give me all i need finally after 16 years of playing Lineage II . Lineage II is the best MMORPG ever made in earth for 1 million reasons BUT..... NCSOFT decided that the profit will come even if the players are no more enjoying their game anymore.... Grappling hook is not an ability. It's an interaction object that you experience in the tutorial. You will be finding them often in the world and in some dungeon instances.

@@Intembossfight-qc3em it can be set so that all boss loot from any guild member goes straight to guild and the leader/advisors have full control over that loot
when it comes to Throne, I've learned to avoid your videos, Kanon - I think you're a bit biased towards the game tbh - but this one is extremely grounded and you talk about all the good points as well as the bad in a very unbiased and objective way, which I really appreciated. For the game to be worth playing as an MMORPG. It has to be more than just hardcore competitive stuff. It has to be more than just PvP & difficult dungeon bosses.
Having a good story rather than fetch quests. Likeable/memorable NPCs. Things to do besides grinding & PvP.
if u want a good story go play ff14, literally all other mmo stories are trash

Is a wand/staff combo not good for this game? I was looking to be full support/heal/AOE
Wand and bow is the best for support build. Problem is the healing is trash imo as a healer main. Having 2 heal ticks on a long cool down, aoe heal with another long cool down.
4/10 for me playing healer really meh, in PvP I was tanky tho and it was more about lightly adding heals so people have more hp before they die.
That was the first CBT so no idea if they reworked the healing. Also disliked you can't hide secondary weapon. Or just not use one.
It is free to play , so atleast we are going to give it a try , im sceptical because ofc it is NCsoft , im ok with some kind of battle pass or something like this so we can support the game, but im not gonna be a COW so they can milk me , competing with no lifers and whales , no take you.

Yes there are players getting them for free but these players belong to the best Guilds who are only recruiting the highest spenders or making sure their highest spenders are the ones who get the amazing drops.
Maybe I'm wrong about this with Throne since I don't know the intricacies of the game but this is how it works in every other MMO with a similar system.
Get better, get into good guild, problem solved. Stop blaming others for something when progression of your character only depends on you, not on others.

The fact that this game has mechanics where guild can control loot . Loot can be stolen and just the systen making it harder for solo players .. its a no go for me.
