Hey guys! I hope you enjoy today’s video ❤️ if you want to see more of the actual items I wear during this time of year make sure to follow me on Instagram (@useless_dk) or tune in next Sunday for summer styling tips! You can also find an overview of my summer wardrobe from last year here, which as said in the video is very similar to this year: www.uselesswardrobe.dk/summer-capsule-wardrobe-simple-with-a-pop-of-colour/ ❤️🙏🏻 Signe xx
As an alternative to steaming, I run big batches of clean, but wrinkled clothes, in a low- to medium-heat dryer cycle with a damp, clean, washcloth in it (one can also put a drop of fragrance on the washcloth). The water in the washcloth steams the load. This works very well, except for some of those more difficult linens, which might need additional touch-up ironing. The key is to set a timer and remove them right before the end of the last, cool-down, cycle, which is essential (most “Permanent Press” settings have this). Then, hang them up properly, pulling one at a time from, then restarting, the dryer. If I have to steam a lot of clothes, it gives me a pain in the shoulder-blade area, so I experimented and discovered this tip. I hate it when my dominant arm and hand are down for the day. New clothes in batches can be done this way, too.
This is great, thank you for the tip! Never heard about it before but sounds clever 😄🙏🏻
A very feasible and zen strategy for organizing and cleaning your wardrobe for the season. I did that for myself. However, I will follow your example by buying clear plastic bins to store my clothes of other seasons instead of putting them in big plastic garbage bags as I have. Your simple strategy inspires me and does not appear intimidating at all. I feel happy to see the clothes I need to wear this summer. Thank you.
Hi Signe! Your hair looks pretty. I would love to hear more about how you blend seasonal pieces with your year-round pieces, and how you accessorize the same pieces differently based on the mood of the season. Thank you!
I started with capsule wardrobes in 2005. I met a lady who showed me that, with 8 key pieces that mixed & matched, I could have a full professional wardrobe. It was a game changer!!!
I'm really liking the layered look with a striped blouse!🧡
Signe you are pure therapy! Both Calming and inspiring! Another great video.
The only thing that makes dressing in the summer more difficult for me is the almost constant humidity. I have found little ways to work around this, and I too love to wear dresses as it just takes the guesswork out of it. One thing that I'd say can be a good thing is that with my job at least, there's still some flexibility as to what I want to wear. More often than not however, I usually end up throwing on one of my work t-shirts and a pair of jeans or trousers. Thanks for sharing this update, Signe! 😊
I agree, summer is the most difficult styling season, for the reason you mentioned, my three-season cottons and silks can be too warm and wool and cashmere are out if the question. Plus, I love a “third piece” look, but most blazers, cardigans, etc., are just too hot. I’m always looking for linen or linen/cotton or viscose blend blazers that have breathable linings (no poly) or no linings at all. These are very hard to find. I just got a white one from Club Monaco, the fabrics are right, but the construction is inferior. It wasn’t low-priced at about $300 US, but it looks like it is, lots of puckering, etc.
I love the light color leather too. I found a camel tote and I feel like it’s a great color all year round and a nice switch for the hot weather. Now on the hunt for the right tan bag, & a camel flat. 😊 My wardrobe is really looking so much better thank you for all of your tips. There’s always something helpful I can learn. When I kept seeing your camel bag I kept being reminded of how much I prefer the lighter colors like camel & taupe and finding the right camel bag for me is a perfect mix with lots of my shoes and clothes. ❤😊
Summer is my favorite time of the year; and living in Los Angeles, California, we could say it lasts longer. I love light-weight fabrics like linen. I love wearing my summer dresses and shorts (showing the fabulous tan). Thank you so much for another great video Signe.
I do a switch four times a year, too. It’s a lot of work, but it’s so fun to get a “new” wardrobe every season. I just finished bringing out my linen items, I store everything on hangers, so I have to range all over my three-story house to get it all, from various closets but at least it’s all ironed and ready to wear. Here in California, the last few springs have been very long, with cool weather until at least mid-June, so I was bringing out my summer things too early, not this year. I’ve been losing weight gradually for years and most of the linen trousers I have are far too big, and can’t be easily altered because they have drawstrings or other more complicated structures. They are really too big all over, including in length because they ride so low now. So, my summer purchases will include the three colors I need, khaki, black and brown. I like having a selection in my basic colors, my climate is too hot for cotton pants in full summer. I’m hoping my white and navy ones will work for this one last summer. I mostly wear skirt outfits and dresses in summer, I find them much more comfortable and airy, but having some cool, breathable trousers is necessary, too.
Love your channel!!! So hard to find good style channels for guys so I find that there are women who have advice that really crosses over. Most of the channels for guys center around trends and I’m not at all a trendy guy so yeah, thanks for the channel. You’re awesome
It's a good idea to dye clothes with stains from sunscreen on it. But keep in mind, that mostly it's impossible to dye the seams as they consist of polyester thread.
Stains don't dye well, they tend to still show .
@@lynnfox8376 Yes, that's my experience too. But maybe it works with black?
Please do a video about your upcyling! Thank's!
Great and inspiring video. Love your wardrobe as always!
As always I enjoyed this. Hope you have a summer of beautiful weather. Hej da.
Greetings from the US (midwest). I love your channel and everything you advocate for. As I purge, and as I plan for the future, could you talk a bit about which fabrics are most sustainable? I am getting rid of a lot of the fast fashion polyester, but still have some confusion around other fabrics and means of sourcing more sustainable products. I realize this could be controversial yet would love to hear your take on this. I want to learn to make better choices. Thanks!❤
Super cute! Hope to see your stylings soon)
Here in tijuana it feels like winter, it's weird, last year it was hot since may, thank you for all your videos .💕
Love the neutral color palette as a neutral girlie myself. May I ask where you get your silver jewelry from? I've been on the search for good high quality silver jewelry that looks classic like yours!
Sure! It’s from Stilnest and Monica Vinader 😍🙏🏻
DIY jumpsuit?!?! You made it? Can you share details?
Yes I did! 😄 I bought a pattern from something called self made and then some faulty fabric in a local fabric store (it had stains on the back but you can’t see it from the front). It turned out so well I think! 😍🙏🏻
You did not get allergy by mites, if you steam your clothes without wash them first?
This is great
Signe, what is your preferred denim brand for Summer?
I have a couple but Everlane, Armed Angels and Levi’s (particularly vintage)! 🙏🏻❤️
@@UseLess_dk thanks!
❤
Where is that steam from?
Steamery Stockholm 😊

I like to watch your videos, everything is wonderful, concise, simple, but a small remark: the sorc is the worst wardrobe for women, even when they have sculpted long legs. So don't advertise that part of the clothing.
