Whilst we understand and empathize with the Residents of Rodney Bay about their concerns of noise from the bars, clubs and lounges. The goal is and should always be to find an amicable balance for both the business entities and the residents to co-exist.
Entertainment and music is our culture and essential to life. Rhythm and bass is a unique part of our heritage and people travel from all over the world throughout the year to experience it. Whereas, some people deal with mental health issues in silence, others find relief by listening to loud music to enjoy themselves.
Rodney Bay is, and has been for decades a cultural staple, and in our opinion the entertainment capital of St Lucia. It is important to our economy for both locals and tourist to always have a place to come have a good time. Hundreds of Locals such as musicians, bartenders, chefs, and waiters all rely on their jobs in Rodney Bay to survive and feed their families.
We want to stress that our intent is not to dismiss the concerns of Rodney Bay residents. Rather, this song serves as an ode to the importance of music, aimed at fostering awareness of the multifaceted impact on those involved in the situation. We, too, are part of this community, and rely on Rodney Bay and what it has to offer to survive.
