During the Ramayana period, there was a kingdom in the middle of the sea whose name was Lanka.
The king there was Ravana, Lanka was made up of a group of many islands.
By combining some of those islands, they were named Laksh Dweep and by combining some islands, they were named Bhawan Dweep.
Lakshadweep is still Lakshadweep and the name of Bhavan Island kept changing from time to time.
Bhavan Island is the island where Ravana's palace was situated.
Then Persian language came to India and from Bhawan Dweep it came to be known as Mahal Dweep.
Today people know it as Maldives
Maldives is a corrupted word for palace island.
Therefore, the people of Mahal Dweep or Bhavan Dweep should keep in mind that the entire Indian Ocean belongs to India and all the islands in it belong to India.
It is the greatness of India that it has given you the freedom to take your own decisions.
But this does not mean that you will allow India's enemies to build a military base in your country and India will tolerate it.
If you jump too much, we will use military force to take control of Bhawan Island.
All the islands in the Indian Ocean belong to India.
And only India will decide for you as to whom you will be friends with and with whom you will have enmity.
