The video doesn't fit very well even if it is funny. The song is so wonderful, I love how it sounds kind of jaunty and pretty and the lyrics are so horrifying.

Its like the guy is kind of a shit dad, but he tries to be a good dad. Along the way he struggles with the responsibilities of being a parent and managing his work to family ratio of time which leads him on a journey that introduces new friends and new opportunities in a young man's life. A baby wanders aimlessly searching for the next distraction. A plethora of smells keeps the his mind wandering around in a landfill of wasted time. something about unwashed socks that have been underneath the couch to never be seen again. Emmy the Great is supremely underrated. This song has been in pretty steady rotation for the last decade or so for me. I never get tired of hearing it
