Thanks man for checking out the Honda video from yesterday. And you're soo right. That bike mechanic is someone special. I get a sense that he does these repairs more as a hobby. He's just plain passionate about old Honda twins. He's a super rare find for sure.
Two months ago, I found a bike on Facebook Marketplace that took me back to when I was 13. My best friend got a Sears 106SS for Christmas that year. Living in a small rural community in Florida, with little to no police patrols, we had a ball. Now, I have my own 1967 Sears 106. It was restored by a guy that is enamored by Italian motorcycles. Nothing like a motorcycle to make a person feel alive. From the smallest to the biggest, there's just something about the sound and the feel of riding a bike. To anyone who hasn't experienced it, you can't understand the thrill until you do.
Wow man, thanks for sharing that about your Sears 106. I never heard of it before and ended up looking it up. Looks like a fun bike. And you're sooo right about feeling free on these things. And again you're right that it doesn't matter if it's the biggest or smallest bike. I learned on a Honda XR80. That bike took me places and gave me more joy than anything else at that time. It was a big, big part of my youth that I wouldn't replace for anything.
I had one just like that that I bought as a complete basket case in New Castle. My uncle and I spent evenings and weekends for about a month working through it all, got it running and painted it. It ran great. I rode it till I was able buy a new, in the crate, 5 year old CB750K from the Honda dealer on West Chester, PA. I wish I could find another one, or it's cousin, the SL350 enduro.
Dude, that's cool and crazy to find a 5 year old, but new, CB750. I hear stories or see ads every once in a while listing a new-in-the-crate but older bike for sale. Cool that you got one and it's pretty cool with the local connection too. Thanks for sharing!
Love those old bikes! Go ahead and scratch that itch and get a bike. I had an Indian ME 100 in the mid seventies (in high school) fast forward to 2019 at 59 yrs old I bought my first Harley. Love your channel.
I tought myself to ride a motorcycle on this bike but in orange. My uncle bought one after Nam. it sat for as long as i was old at 13 years old. That year he gave it to me. i rode that thing around for 3 years. at 16 dad made me sell it. many times i thought of picking one up.
This was super cool, I just bought my first bike a 1973 CL350, and will be taking it down to the family farm and learn to ride on the old grass road. Love the bike, that blue is sharp, mine is candy red with white
Man everyone’s got the itch! My neighbor just fixed up my 90cc dirtbike from when I was a kid. Had a blast riding that around. It was like being in a time machine. Had so much fun a few days later I ordered a 250 dualsport online. Can’t wait to get my motorcycle license and cruise around town. Stay safe and have fun guys!
Cool mechanic, dude likes his job and to pass the wheels on to next generation. OK kid is starting late in life but ., really. Just goofing off. Never too late to have fun and your son will get the hang of it in no Tim and enjoy it soo much. Good for him you and your dad. Best of luck with that cb350.
I learned on the exact same bike but a 73'. My granddad bought it brand new and a couple years ago after sitting for so long gifted it to me when I had "the itch". The engine just doesn't want to quit.
Wow, my father's first bike in 1974 was a gold and black 71 Honda CL350. I was 4 years old and still remember that bike. He added a sissy bar and changed the exhaust.
Wow man, that's super cool that you're getting a CL350 and super cool to about the video giving your a nudge. Thanks for sharing that and I hope your new bike makes some memories for you!
Just stumbled on this video! I had the 250, low pipe version, so this is a familiar sound to me. 2 sets of points at 90 degrees as they are 180 degree twins and the camshaft turns at 1/2 engine speed. What a lovely bike your dad has.
Great story, awesome bike. Those old school Honda's were always good bikes. And to see that one looking the way it does now and getting to build new memories is unreal! Great video!
Awesome cool video. I had a Honda 350. It was red & white. (The best I remember.) It was a nice running bike. I bought it used for 500 bucks. I had a lot of fun with it. I finally sold it to my older brother and got the new Grand Prix. Bikes are a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your video. Stay well & safe.
Very cool! When dad and I went to pick up his bike today from getting repaired, there was a red and white CB175 sitting right next to it waiting to get picked up too. It was pretty cool seeing them next to each other.
I had a Honda 350 and Honda 550/4. The 550 was very nice. Heavy in the front end. I may have had a 360. Can't remember. It had a fairing and hard saddle bags. Very good job of fixing up yours.
Very cool, I had a few bikes in my youth and now would like to get a Cushman. I watch a few of the auctions but have not seen one yet for the money I'm willing to spend. Looks like that was fun for both of you.
Thanks Pat for checking in. Getting a Cushman sounds like a whole lot of fun. I still remember the old Bugs Bunny cartoon where Bugs is riding a Cushman making a mail delivery. Fun stuff!
You're awesome man and thanks. He had a good time learning to ride that Honda yesterday. He was amp'd up to go out again today but just wasn't able to fit it in.
Hello Chris, that bike and also the video is really cool..... i am two years older than the bike but the bike looks fresher than me :-))) Your son becomes now a real biker ! Greet him from me and if he would like to have a modern bike which is not too expensive but has all the safety features of today (corner ABS, traction control, etc.), please have a look at my current videos of the KTM 390. The bike is not expensive, not too fast and modern. The KTM 390 comes up also in north america right now on the market in May 2020 (i have read) ... and your channel is now also a motorcycle channel :-) and not just a car channel. Oh yes, and if your son wants to see more bikes, he can come and visit me (when the travel ban ends anytimes). My offer is still valid. There is also "German Autobahn" then on the "program" :-) Greetings to your family from Frank
I have one identical to yours but in orange/black. It is definitely in need of some repairs. It has only 88 miles on it. Who is the gentleman that you took yours to? I would love to get this thing back on the road as it belonged to my dad and he passed back in 2005. The last time it was really ridden was back in 1976/77 and has been in the basement ever since. I just want to bring back a piece of the memories of old.
I have a question , could you ask your dad , if he would give his story about his Honda purchase back in the 1970? What where his opinions , why a Honda, what other brand did his consider and would he recommend a Honda.
Thanks man and thanks for checking out my Honda CL350 vid. And yeah, the guy that worked on the bike is in Kennet Square, PA and his shop is called Retro Rides. His name is Joel. On your bike, what color is she? Got any pics or video. I'd love to check her out. I'm at hullinger@mac.com
I'm lovin that blue color too. It took a few months to find a blue '71 350 scrambler and I'm so glad I kept looking instead of settling for another color or year. And I don't think dad is gonna want to sell his sweetheart.
Great video man keep up the hard work. I recently started my own channel i see how much work it is now and I appreciate all that you guys do even more. If you have free time maybe check out my channel?
That mechanic that you found is one in a million. Very very rare. ☮️

If only all vehicle service was so professionally done. You are lucky.
In the 90s I resurrected one and wish I never let it go.
Everyone loved it.
Coolest bike ever.
I've seen a few on marketplace .

Glad you like those older bikes too and thanks for following along!
Great Job. I had a 71 also but it was red.
Very cool about your red Honda CL350 and thanks for checking out my video on my dad's bike!
I had one and it was the dark metallic red. I bought it in 1972.
I remember the 305 Honda scrambler. I wanted one so bad. Now I have the Itch to go find one.
That's awesome and if I recall, the 305 Scrambler has an even more retro and vintage look to them. I think they look great!
Chris and Nate, awesome content, let's get you to 25K subs!!!
You're awesome man and thanks. He had a good time learning to ride that Honda yesterday. He was amp'd up to go out again today but just wasn't able to fit it in.

Jack D. Bum joe is likely at the boardwalk
Awesome work that guy did. I just completed my rebuild of my own cl350. This is kennett square, PA?
Thanks man and thanks for checking out my Honda CL350 vid. And yeah, the guy that worked on the bike is in Kennet Square, PA and his shop is called Retro Rides. His name is Joel. On your bike, what color is she? Got any pics or video. I'd love to check her out. I'm at hullinger@mac.com

I'm lovin that blue color too. It took a few months to find a blue '71 350 scrambler and I'm so glad I kept looking instead of settling for another color or year. And I don't think dad is gonna want to sell his sweetheart.
Who is this guy that helped you? I'm in WV and I want to ride my cl350 bad but I can't get it right
