I feel like they nerfed us sometime this morning again btw my attack power dropped a couple thousand again sometime after I went to bed and I don't hit anywhere near as hard.
Nope, level 96 Necro here and this build is good, but far from 'insane'. The problem is that the damage has been hugely reduced, and so has your survivability. At a simple Tier 46, I have to struggle to prevent myself from dying, even Helltide, your biggest challenge is to stay alive otherwise you lose half your your cinders. Playing a Glass Cannon is no fun, and far from 'Insane'. Before the patch, I was doing Tier 62's with a much better survival rate.
I feel you. My 79 bone spear Necro could kill mid 40s with a good challenge. I was farming 32s for XP and uniques with relative ease. Now I can barely clear those 32s. I can barely kill mini boss and if there is two of them pfft I'm SOL 😭
It’s still crazy to me that Bliz managed to piss everyone off and make the game feel worse but not change the meta whatsoever. We still using the same exact builds with the same stats they’re just weaker.
For anyone wondering, this build still OP af especially with the new malignant heart for auto corpse skills. Unlimited tendrils = ez mode. Level 57 clearing tier 15+ like it’s nothing.
Rogue was so much fun in beta, was my main class before season, the rogue builds from Nick were fire, excited to try the leveling Necro build, still excited for season 1 and trying some more characters

I use Umbral ring (4 resources on cc) and lucky hit slow on gloves (easy to get 25%). As a result Tendrils and Decrepify keep my essence up. Also Penitent greaves (frost trail) work nice with Umbral.
Don't matter honestly about this one build in specific. It is bad game design to balance a game around borrowed power. This is a mistake Blizzard has made time and time again especially on WoW. The nerfs are incredibly bad and just to give is a snippet of our power back with some gems is stupid. Non-seasonal players will suffer the most due to the nerfs unless they reverse course after see what the community has responded as of late. Blizzard did absolutely nothing for Sorcs as well. Damn sad man...Back to POE for me.
For those of you who now worry about survivability since the patch, swap out pants (with disobedience aspect) and equip the unique temerity. With the constant blood orbs being spawned using tendrils along with blood drinker glyph you constantly have a barrier up for 99 % of the time. Much better than the armor ever was! Now add conceited aspect on gloves and deal 25% more damage with barrier up
Temerity is great if you're doing low level stuff that's not that threatening. The reason it wasn't used before for pushing high level stuff is you'd get one-shot throught he barrier since you have no DR. It's definitely not better than the armor and DR ever was that's for sure.

Similar build as yours, just that I didn't go for CE. Instead, I've gone for bone prison with essence regen + fortify, and we get dmg increase while fortify. CE is just for uber lilith kill with that 40% dmg proc. Rather useless in high tier nm pass 75. And there is no way you can walk up to creeps and reap pass nm 80, you get instant deleted.
I appreciate that you're trying to be positive but it's really hard to understand how even after opitmizing for the new patch a player at your level struggling in a T62 is 'insane.'
You just said it yourself. What’s hard to understand? He optimized all of his gear, max level, perfect stats, not all that much more he can do to make his build better. Yet after all the time it takes to get all that, and he still can’t even clear T62??

Can anyone tell me how 5% chance to restore primary resource is valuable? I get that once it triggers it's incredibly beneficial, but doesn't it have such a low chance to trigger? 50% of the time it will trigger 5% of the time equating to 2.5% - what am I missing?

Hey Bro, nice information ty. One additial point though. Not sure if you have overlooked that or if its not important but: 2H scythe also has slower attackspeed. i.e. a weapon with same item power and same stats should hit harder per bonespear cast.
Dude normal players don't have a billion gold to respec, assuming that's where your gold went, especially for a couple days before needing to leave it all behind.

Could you put your build(s) into Mobalytics? I like it because you can check while playing the game without needing to use your phone or another monitor or Alt+Tab. Makes it easy to follow and farm for gear and aspects
I understand that it's still functional, but do it early or mid level without looking like exposed flesh, you'll see what happens. I'm level 90 and I still don't have that aspect, although I have a lucky break in the gauntlet but it doesn't help so much after the update, before with just a shot from a bone spear you killed any npc in the nightmare dungeon about 5 levels above my class, now i need three to four bone spear shots to take it out and i run out of essence, and don't count on a horde coming to you then you can already run because you're dead. What they've done with this update is we've stopped playing the necromancer and the priest and they've already messed up the barbarian too much. For those of you who want to play rogue, don't get too excited because it will also end up so nerfed that it will be useless in any dungeon
@@NickTew I don't understand, I see your video that goes down in the first contact with Lilith and I see that you lower the essence by more than half and suddenly you have it at the maximum and that does not happen with the application of lucky strike on the glove, what you have has activated exposed flesh. Although you do not say that it is activated, what I do say is that when you nerf a necromancer and do a dungeon at mid-high levels without that aspect you suffer a lot from essence and more when a group or a horde comes to which you shoot three to four spears of bone you run out of essence and as much as I use explosion to regenerate a little essence it is not enough.
@@michaeleide7098 I have threshold aspect and in the gloves the talent lucky strike to recover essence and before the update I had no problem running out of essence but now doing a dungeon I run out of essence and since this damn game refuses to give me exposed meat well it's done uphill to complete a dungeon and I'm not saying if there is a dungeon event that gathers many npc in a minute then you stay very sold in essence, and I have level 92 but I have already stopped playing it
Thank you for the great build video! This really helped me. Question - I like to Decrepify first before I run into the mob - it keeps me alive. It lasts 10 secs so its still up for the whole rotation. Does doing this out of order screw up the essense regen?

I can confirm using control glyph and blood drinker is the best option. Swap out gravekeeper for control. I'm now doing 148.5% crowd control damage just from glyph whilst still having survivability with blood drinker and fortify.

Hi- what sort of level is it when i can start settling with armour, and add aspects because i'll be sticking with for a while? keep chopping and changing, so don't have the resrouces to put this final build together
One thing that confuses me is that you picked a melee essence generator, while at the same time removing Death's Embrace that helps survivability in melee range.
I'm not generating essence in melee, please watch the video! The reap is literally only for the guaranteed corpse to be able to insta corpse tendril. Has nothing to do with essence

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I just cannot beat Lilith. I've followed the skills, Paragon board and Aspects and I just cannot do it. The damage is there but just not enough to bypass the annoying phases. It also feels like my Lucky Hit for resource on gloves and Exposed Flesh never proc so I'm constantly running around slapping her with splinters till I can get her to the next phase, only to get her down to 40% at best. Watching these post patch clears is helpful, but also really depressing.
For survivability ive been using Temerity paired with Blood Cuirass and Blood Drinker. Not sure how much damage im losing on the build. Im almost lvl 100 and was planning on taking on Lilith b4 this nerf. Appreciate the vid ❤
Been using a bleed/ww/thorns barb since I got the game and it hasn't been hit too hard tbh. Haven't tried hota yet but by the looks of this patch I'm not going to any time soon
I also didn't switch the paranormal spear, so I was only hitting for like 500k. Going to switch it today and hopefully it will change the damage. Idk if I like the reap idea and I literally JUST finished my paragon board, so I'm not looking forward to changing again.

This build is mostly towards endgame for 70+ because of the aspects that you need and the uniques you might want to use. You can pretty much do any build before level 50, such as minions, blood spear and so forth.
bone spear got nerfed into the ground BUT some of those necro hearts look insane which could very well make BS necro S tier again. i’m looking at you 75% damage buff

I could have dealt with the nerfs, as RIDICULOUS as they are. It's not JUST the skills, but nerfs to attributes on gear and stuff. What I CAN NOT DEAL WITH IS THE XP NERF, the fact that I do 2 Nightmare Dungeons now, 4 levels higher than me and I don't even get ONE paragon point at level 74. F U Blizzard, F U to HLL. I'm done. Also the S1 content, I read through the Malignant Hearts and there is NOTHING interesting there. They even did false advertising presenting that 15% Primary Resource, the ACTUAL description is a random chance every 20 kills, shared with 2 other effects.
in my experience running blood drinker for fortify is just a pure waste of resources, you heal for more than you build fortify so therefor you are never actually fortified outside of about 2% of the time when you are taking poison damage and even then as soon as you heal or pick up blood orbs your health will be more than your fortify. The only way it works is if you use bone prison with fortify effect or you use undaunted glyph as well. now if you use undaunted glyph it’s very effective but then you are missing out on two damage glyphs. But generally think if you are advising taking blood drinker you need to include undaunted or undaunting whatever it’s called
ty for helping with necro.. i still cant do it prior to this video but will take facts and change up some stuff.. also.. rogue.. that poison imbdued dmg.. eats lilly
Using your only defensive skill offensively will get you killed all the time. If you get crowd controlled and don't have blood mist up, you're basically dead
My 90 sorc doesnt feel too different except the skill that eas broken being fixed. 85 flurry rogue still good as well. GREAT video, better than the mass coping group therapy sessions happening on other channels over these nerfs 😂
On fast dying enemies Corpse Explosion is really not worth to use. While casting corpse explosion you can do a bone spear instead which does more damage and the second spear kills most mobs. Even elites survive just a few seconds so its not worth at all. For bigger bosses you can use it for armor building but they mostly won't stay in. Not much really an alternative skill to use tho. I use corpse explosion for essence potions only

Quicker use of main attacks which are usually used to gain resource when attacking and doling out damage for your preferred core attack. This affects DPS immediately when attacking.
I don't understand your dmg. We have similar stats, but my weapon has 100 less dmg than yours - but you somehow crit to 10M. Is it because you're using flesheater and that aspect with dmg bonus at full essence?

Dudes, I hesitate to say this but I’m better now than pre patch changing basic to decompose, enhanced, initiate (slows by 50%). That’s it. I was having issue with essence, no longer unless I’m pushing a higher tier but still not as horrible immediately post patch. My build is essentially like his. Slightly different here or there probably in equipment and paragon but I’m better than last night by a long shot. Boss at higher level I don’t nuke just takes longer. Dip, dive and duck, you’ll be fine.
Ok, not better than pre-patch because I was pretty damn good. But light years better than last night. Also, you can pull essence from outside the bubbles extremely fast. Don’t tell blizzard.
There is a new unique ring called Ring of Starless Skies which reduces the Resource cost everytime a Core skill is used. Is it also viable for this Necro build?

Great Build for leveling but the transition after let's say lvl 50 to endgame is impossible. You can't generate essence without the minions. And you need tons of corpses for the explosions so you won't get destroyed by strong elites.
Use Corpse Tendrils, iron maiden, and if you got Umbral on a ring. Even without Exposed Flesh you can generate a lot of essence. I swapped CE for Iron Maiden. Works just fine. As I keep Bone Storm

It is ridiculous, I played today and when you say "If you don't crit, you do 0 dmg" - that is 100% correct. I can't even kill a zombie without crit...

I got rid of disobedience and used the new audacity aspect. I like it a lot more, at least for my play style.

The damage reduction from reap only lasts 2 seconds is it really worth it?

I am a level 81 Necro. Should I max out each Paragon Board or race around getting all the Glyph nodes active and then fill the rest of the nodes?
One thing that confuses me is that you picked a melee essence generator, while at the same time removing Death's Embrace that helps survivability in melee range.

I'm not generating essence in melee, please watch the video! The reap is literally only for the guaranteed corpse to be able to insta corpse tendril. Has nothing to do with essence
Great explanation and video, but... how the fk are you reaching 13k attack power... i have nearly the same build, same paragon, with the same aspects and stats on the items and i am at 7.7k attack power... WTF
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I just cannot beat Lilith. I've followed the skills, Paragon board and Aspects and I just cannot do it. The damage is there but just not enough to bypass the annoying phases. It also feels like my Lucky Hit for resource on gloves and Exposed Flesh never proc so I'm constantly running around slapping her with splinters till I can get her to the next phase, only to get her down to 40% at best. Watching these post patch clears is helpful, but also really depressing.
If we're going with Scythe, wouldn't Temerity for legs be the way to roll if you have one?

For survivability ive been using Temerity paired with Blood Cuirass and Blood Drinker. Not sure how much damage im losing on the build. Im almost lvl 100 and was planning on taking on Lilith b4 this nerf. Appreciate the vid ❤

Been using a bleed/ww/thorns barb since I got the game and it hasn't been hit too hard tbh. Haven't tried hota yet but by the looks of this patch I'm not going to any time soon
I also didn't switch the paranormal spear, so I was only hitting for like 500k. Going to switch it today and hopefully it will change the damage. Idk if I like the reap idea and I literally JUST finished my paragon board, so I'm not looking forward to changing again.
It's the same paragon board if you copied the previous one

@@obergruppenfuhrersang-froi8203it’s a wasted affix since bone spear gives you 50% lucky hit chance when you scroll over the tooltip, different %’s for different abilities like corpse explosion.

This build is mostly towards endgame for 70+ because of the aspects that you need and the uniques you might want to use. You can pretty much do any build before level 50, such as minions, blood spear and so forth.
bone spear got nerfed into the ground BUT some of those necro hearts look insane which could very well make BS necro S tier again. i’m looking at you 75% damage buff

I could have dealt with the nerfs, as RIDICULOUS as they are. It's not JUST the skills, but nerfs to attributes on gear and stuff.
What I CAN NOT DEAL WITH IS THE XP NERF, the fact that I do 2 Nightmare Dungeons now, 4 levels higher than me and I don't even get ONE paragon point at level 74. F U Blizzard, F U to HLL. I'm done.
Also the S1 content, I read through the Malignant Hearts and there is NOTHING interesting there. They even did false advertising presenting that 15% Primary Resource, the ACTUAL description is a random chance every 20 kills, shared with 2 other effects.
in my experience running blood drinker for fortify is just a pure waste of resources, you heal for more than you build fortify so therefor you are never actually fortified outside of about 2% of the time when you are taking poison damage and even then as soon as you heal or pick up blood orbs your health will be more than your fortify. The only way it works is if you use bone prison with fortify effect or you use undaunted glyph as well. now if you use undaunted glyph it’s very effective but then you are missing out on two damage glyphs. But generally think if you are advising taking blood drinker you need to include undaunted or undaunting whatever it’s called
I have decent fortify uptime and the DR while fortified works above 50% of your HP

Instead of giving up bone storm you can add the skill to ghastly blood mist?
Using your only defensive skill offensively will get you killed all the time. If you get crowd controlled and don't have blood mist up, you're basically dead
Well I don't know how big nerf was, but I killed elias in 70+ dungeon on 61 lvl
My 90 sorc doesnt feel too different except the skill that eas broken being fixed. 85 flurry rogue still good as well. GREAT video, better than the mass coping group therapy sessions happening on other channels over these nerfs 😂
On fast dying enemies Corpse Explosion is really not worth to use. While casting corpse explosion you can do a bone spear instead which does more damage and the second spear kills most mobs. Even elites survive just a few seconds so its not worth at all. For bigger bosses you can use it for armor building but they mostly won't stay in. Not much really an alternative skill to use tho.
I use corpse explosion for essence potions only
Corpse explosion isn't for dealing damage it's for giving us a 9% damage buff on top of a periodical 40% damage buff, which I explained.

Quicker use of main attacks which are usually used to gain resource when attacking and doling out damage for your preferred core attack. This affects DPS immediately when attacking.
Doesn’t it also affect how quickly the first wave of your bone spear reaches the edge of you screen?

We have similar stats, but my weapon has 100 less dmg than yours - but you somehow crit to 10M.
Is it because you're using flesheater and that aspect with dmg bonus at full essence?

Dudes, I hesitate to say this but I’m better now than pre patch changing basic to decompose, enhanced, initiate (slows by 50%). That’s it. I was having issue with essence, no longer unless I’m pushing a higher tier but still not as horrible immediately post patch. My build is essentially like his. Slightly different here or there probably in equipment and paragon but I’m better than last night by a long shot. Boss at higher level I don’t nuke just takes longer. Dip, dive and duck, you’ll be fine.
Note, I haven’t used curse in quite awhile. I use tendrils, corpse explosion, mist, spear, bone storm, and now decompose.
Ok, not better than pre-patch because I was pretty damn good. But light years better than last night. Also, you can pull essence from outside the bubbles extremely fast. Don’t tell blizzard.
There is a new unique ring called Ring of Starless Skies which reduces the Resource cost everytime a Core skill is used. Is it also viable for this Necro build?

Great Build for leveling but the transition after let's say lvl 50 to endgame is impossible. You can't generate essence without the minions. And you need tons of corpses for the explosions so you won't get destroyed by strong elites.
Use Corpse Tendrils, iron maiden, and if you got Umbral on a ring. Even without Exposed Flesh you can generate a lot of essence.
I swapped CE for Iron Maiden. Works just fine. As I keep Bone Storm
