That's a rare clip of Mifune. Marvelous! He's so quick! He doesn't give his opponent any time to react to his change of direction, and throws uke right into the hole left by uke's movement. This reminds me of Uesheba, and is how the experts in both judo and akido do judo. It's really effortless, and really cool to watch. It really messes with your brain to get thrown by one of those guys.
@CommodoreDixon @1. otoshi means pull down. different of seoi-otoshi and morote seoi is your knee not leave the tatami. If your knee leave the tatami it become morote, not seoi-otoshi. @2. seoi-nage include 2 technis are ippon-seoi-nage and morote-seoi-nage. Some where call morote same as seoi-nage. dear
Tal qual em poços com Santinho Zangiacomi e Sr João (Shigeru Matsumori), muitos anos atrás, até alguns nomes de golpes eram diferentes, por ex: 'daque comi couti' = 'couti maqui comi' que já não pode mais
@theguyi26 When it's performed correctly, the natural resistance of your opponent breaks your fall and it doesn't take much power to perform the move. The key is that you learn the move correctly from a experienced Judoka that will also encourage you to properly stretch out.
Tai otoshi looks cool
I used to have this series on VHS until one of my buddies ran off with it, lol.

Great video!!! Very helpful. Thanks for posting.
@farfallapippi this is from the JIF film that was made to clear out the throws names, so yes it is seoi-otoshi!
@CommodoreDixon Modern seoi otoshi looks alitle bit different. Now is more about pulling opponent by your leg, less about trowing

I hit this throw all the time in BJJ. It's alot easier for me (being a tall guy) than a forward hip throw. I guess guys expect a foot sweep from me.
seems like a moroto seo nage to me.
