Thank you for being so brave to make this film and to relate your real experiences. There are thousands of people who experience this same thing all over Portland, and more than three million throughout the United States that have this kind of experience.
Anyone can be homeless. If not you, then someone you know. Please do what you can to help make life easier for those on the street. They aren't criminals or sinners. They are people who are alone and need a real friend.

Hi Eileen. Great video. Nice tone. I've done a bit of living in my car. Walmarts in the States were helpful; Canadian Tires in Canada were the most hospitable with their lots. Underground parking lots (usually a dollar or two) in the winter were the best for cutting the wind and keeping warm. In Europe the best places to sleep overnight were the parking lots of public swimming pools or baths. Get up in the morning and swim or take a shower. Interesting lonely existence sometimes, yes?

This is the first part of a series. The second part is 'revisiting "is this my home?"' - on my UA-cam channel.
A third part will be filmed in late May, 2013.

Saw these vid clips on Metro East public access in the middle of the night. Powerful stuff. I have had to sell off instruments too the last couple years. When you have to sell your Axe... you have hit bottom in my book. You still in Portland? Ever see some guy playing the saxophone on the west side of the Hawthorne or Ross Island Bridges? That is me. If you see me, say something. So much of what you relate resonates with me and my experience. Too much to comment on. Good Luck.

There are many reasons why people are homeless, mental illness, drugs, huge medical bills, the desire to be independent of societies rules etc... You did not indicate your reason for being homeless. What if someone offered you a job?

Thank you for sharing your story, Eileen. So many fall similarly through the cracks of society... we all need to know, and to act in humanitarian ways to turn the tides
    of misfortune and isolation.
