I'd love a library of journals I've read accessible on my ship so I could read the stuff again I skimmed over because combat, drowning, other reasons....I'd happily pay Umbra gold for each to keep on the bookshelf.
I think both of these ideas are fantastic! I was on my way to make this comment but @TheAsenkah beat me to it. I feel like having a buildable library on your ship of the books you’ve read would A. be great so you can re-read story lines that you may have forgotten or skimmed, and B. give players a better incentive to go out and find journals by having a UI that displays which volumes of a given collection you have/don’t have. Maybe you could even combine these ideas. Have a buildable library collection free to read on Isle of Whispers from Umbra, and also be able to buy copies of the volumes you want from Umbra to keep on your ship library. Hope the Rare team can find a way to add this in! (Great video btw @captainblubber and @AShinyRay)
I haven't finished the podcast yet, and I know Mike will probably never see this comment but to me his idea of "Rare is the Disney of gaming" is exactly what the company is to me (without all the disney controversies and flops though) Growing up Disney nave quite gave me those moments of awe and wonder it gave others, but sea of thieves to 14 year old me was the most magical thing I had ever seen and I have so many memories from it, from the hungering tattoo's glowing during hungering deep to collecting my first ring. Sea of Thieves is a thing of magic, in it's world and ours.
I would happily have Mike as my lawyer. He's very good with how he words things. He knows not to say too much yet. Gives you enough to want more. This podcast has given me more hope for SOT future. The official SOT team should do more of these

The idea that Goonies is less recognizable than Monkey Island is mind-blowing to me. Was it not as big in England? Because all my normie friends know Goonies and not even all my gamer friends know Monkey Island.
Maybe a generation thing? I knew of both as a kid but was way more familiar with Monkey Island. I do know my UK friends do love the Goonies as does a great chunk of the Rare team.

I'm so glad that he touched the concept of SOT being way better than the outside world. Your dreams become true there, death isn't much of a concept and eternality exists. I really didn't think that we'd ever learn the origins of why SOT is a thing. I'm very happy to be wrong. He specifically said that we'll learn why the place is so magical and why it has creatures like megalodons and krakens. They have the chance to do a lot of escapism philosophy and it sure seems like they will. A Pirate's Life was already that in a way. Davy Jones being frustrated about pirates using SOT to hide from the truth of nothing lasting forever.

Waiting for the clothing presets mentioned in an earlier poscast. Edit: I commented this before seeing the full podcast. Now I'm sad. I love swapping outfits...except for the part that I continually need to look up all parts when I do. I've got 4 standard outfits.

I don’t know if it fits with the timeline of sea of thieves but maybe Flamehearts prisoner could be in the orb? The orb knows a lot so wouldnt be impossible for it to contain one of the ancients
Because it ain't simple like that, if you wanna do it right. Presets were also my most wanted feature. Hope that the UI improvements will hit the cosmetic chest. A "Favourite" + "Hide" feature would do wonders to the messy title chest.

Please address the pvp issue. This in not a PvP game and I keep getting sunk. The magic of doing shrines and forts is fun but the players are bad for sinking me 😢 make safer seas 300x high seas because I think PvP is toxic

Well, it's a PvP/PvE game at it's core. Player interaction will always be a key component of Sea of Thieves. Safer Seas has restrictions for a reason.
