      @@eddale5557 They'll never join BRICS. BRICS is already a dead project. The monetary unit of one of its founders - RuZZia - is already collapsing. No one wants to exchange rubles anymore, even in country's previously lenient to Russian tourists (Thailand, etc.). How can BRICS be any kind of power house, when one of its supposedly main countries has an economy that's going down the drain ? Exactly.
      Hungary might not have the euro, but it's highly dependent on the EU for its economy and finances, in order to avoid collapse. Slovakia is even more integrated within the EU, from the monetary unit, to the economy, finances, everything. F. has been making 'tough guy' theatrics at home and in the Kremlin, but whenever he arrives in Brussels, he becomes a meek puppy and signs every new law they give him. He's not an authentic wannabe-strongman at all. Slovakia is in the EU, in NATO, and F.'s incompetent and arguing government is not going to last for long.

    It is inconsequential who's gas it is. It's about the transit of the gas, and for that a contract between Russia and Ukraine is needed. There is no way around that fact. Ukraine had every right to annul the contract with the outbreak of the war, but was considerate enough for those countries to look for alternatives. They have only themselves to blame if they run out of gas, they have known this for 3 years already. By no means can you expect a nation which is invaded to renegotiate deals with a nation that is invading them and killing their citizens. It would be utterly inhumane to expect such a thing.

    • @ZemplinTemplar
      @ZemplinTemplar 5 годин тому +1

      I'm a Slovak citizen and I fully support the ending of the gas transit by Ukraine. If anything, I'm surprised it took this long, but I'm glad the contract's run out and it's over. F.'s weaksauce theatrics about us supposedly being fully dependent or needing to be fully dependent are just smoke screens to cover up the fact he's terrified of his already shaky government falling apart, and a new democratic government resuming the investigation of F.'s huge corruption scandals, decades worth of corruption scandals. He's silent about how the pre-2023 governments were building new pipeline connections, and had lowered Slovakia's already decreasing dependence by another third to half. Slovakia has not been dependent on any Gazprom gas for at least seven to ten years. F.'s claims are complete bull, and he knows it.
      The fact that F. is brown-nosing the Kremlin so much now, is actually down to his sheer desperation. He's seeking or preparing an escape route for himself, because he knows he might end up like Yanukovych, Assad or Schröder. That possibility rises with each month, as his government continues to alienate Slovak society, including all manner of employee unions. F. is afraid of being tried at home and in the EU for extremely serious corruption and ties to organized crime, and he wants to avoid that at all costs. F. is a narcissist who's always cared only for himself. He's a communist bigwig's spoilt son who's never had the slightest ounce of patriotism for Slovakia, and he's always been only interested in how he can embezzle money from taxpayers, loot the treasury, or loot Slovakia's economy and natural resources. He's a greedy, crooked coward. I'd compare F. to Moldova's Plahotniuc and Shor, both real pieces of work, to use an English euphemism for horrible people and crooks. Orbán is not much different, even though he tries desperately to present himself as some sophisticated", "intellectual" type of autocrat. He isn't. Though he's able to hide it better than the walking pile of childish desperation that is F.

      Thousands in Slovakia protested F.'s latest theatrics on Monday, just before Christmas. F.'s afraid of being investigated for corruption again, and tried for corruption (he's behind the biggest corruption scandals in Slovakia in the past twenty years), so he's desperately throwing anything at the wall, trying to see what sticks - in this case, trying to see whether he can ensure an escape route for himself in the Kremlin, some sort of exile in Russia, away from Slovak and EU corruption investigation.

      They're afraid of being investigated for their massive corruptions, in their own countries and by the EU institutions, plain and simple. It's pure crooked self-interest by O. and F., nothing else. O. doesn't want such a process to start at all, and F. has been in constant panic over being investigated since 2020, when the new Slovak government of the time opened the floodgates to major corruption investigations under the F.-led Smer and co. governments. Dozens of people were investigated and wound up behind bars between 2020-2023, and the noose was tightening around F. and his cronies, but before it could tighten, there were early elections in 2023 and F. got back into government. (The felling of the government in December 2022, two years ago, was caused by MPs who have ties to corrupt oligarchs, the same oligarchs Smer and F. is friendly with. Parallels with what Yanukovych was doing to Ukraine before 2014. F. fears of being another Yanukovych or Assad. Try as he might, he ultimately will be another Yanukovych or Assad, run away to Moscow, living in exile there.
