As if it wasn't apparent enough from the animation and and the actual show, the people at TRIGGER *love* tokusatsu. Neither this nor SSSS.Gridman had to be nearly as good as they were, but TRIGGER went all-out and made them into glorious love letters to the genre packed with insane details.
Says something about how much the writers loved the original Gridman that the put so much effort duplicating such epic fight scenes in the anime in such detail and similar acting.
Y'know, looking at this and looking back on my video where I just replaced the anime footage with the live-action equivalent, it's really cool how Amemiya was able to make everything that accurate while adding his own flair. In addition, it goes to show that in hindsight there were a lot of improvements I could have made on my own version, such as the combination sequences or some better choices for clips. For example, I was actually planning on including the shot of Takeshi's paper airplane and have it fade into the anime equivalent, but I decided not to at the last second because I thought it looked kinda weird. But yeah, thanks for posting this and keep up the good work!
I heard from Japanese sources that they are doing theatrical screening of ep 18, 25 and 26 of the original Gridman series. The clue lies in the fact that the episodes shown are the ones focusing on Dyna Dragon and King Gridman
Used to watch this but it was US version, watching this clip made me realize that this is Ultraman fighting together with Optimus prime and T-rex Dinozord against Shredder (main antagonist).
I really hope kamen rider or Sentai / power rangers gets an animated series. Thus is just proof that at least the action sequences would be epic looking seeing a full anime transformation vs an obvious toy transformation

transformers and obari-style animation too from what i see XD. ending up with a short but glorious show. can't wait for the sequel.
