I went on a solo fly in moose hunt five years ago. It was one of the most physically challenging experiences of my life, yet one of my fondest memories. I failed to connect on a moose, but learned how to handle tree snapping wind, and torrential downpour in a thirty dollar tent. The area I was flown into was riddled with Alders with trunks at least three inches thick, and in most places less than an inch apart. There was not a single animal trail leading to the massive seventy inch bull I was after. There's a reason he got that big. I got to read my Bible though, and I needed that. I also got to watch a Peregrine Falcon for a few days just a few yards from my camp. Thanks for an excellent video.
I think this was my tenth watch and just love it so much, You guys really did put in the effort and idk how you kept such high moral I know that was a test of your strength.
There is no such thing as a "Peaceful Romantic Alaskan Hunt" Although it's an adventure that most will never get to experience. I lived there for 3 years and have ALWAYS regretted leaving. I will be going back 30 years later. It is by far the most beautiful and majestic place I have ever lived😉
You guys are the toughest moose hunters I have ever seen. I thought I had a few difficult hauls, but that was a cakewalk compared to you. This is probably my favourite moose hunting video on youtube. Amazing and well done, and thank you.
Best video i have ever seen. The struggle and our Lord shines through without a word about Him. CS lewis was the master of saying God , without the word God. You did that.
Wow, what an adventure! Brought back nightmares of Alaskas alder, devil's club, and mosquitos. Most people will only shoot a Moose that far from extraction once. Congrats on a great Bull!
Wow, wow! So cool! besides the fantastic images, the exceptional hunt, the music used here, makes it is so epic. This hunter from the Netherlands cannot imagine such broadness and suffering. Thanks for sharing, great!
yea the Ak is great although dangerous so if you don't know what your doing I don't think you should do this I love living here I don't hunt though I like to just watch nature
I love to watch your videos. Don’t know if you will ever see this. This video is a year old. But if you do please remember me in your prayers. Great film 🎥 good shots. It’s so beautiful up there. Stay safe.
I truly believe this is my number 1 production seen anywhere on TV which I havent watched in over 2 years or on the Internet anywhere hands down, my 4 th time watching and just really enjoy it, Need to get to Alaska and give it a go or the Yukon.
Super nice bull. Reminds me an area I use to love up by tangle lakes on the Denali hwy when I lived up there. Brought back some wonderful memories. So beautiful and so wild. God blessed us for sure with alaska!
That by far was one of the best productions I have seen to date, Being someone that loves Moose and Bear hunting and am leaving in 3 days for my Moose hunt, I really appreciate the level of effort this took to not only harvest such large animals and pack them out, but to capture this on film and also add perfect audio to this. Such a great job thumbs up from me and a new follower here.
I have noticed in a lot of your videos that you guys tend to hike and glass a lot as opposed to staying in one place for a few days and just call. I'm goin to alaska this year and I want to hunt like you guys do but most of the things I read says to stay in one place and call so you don't spread your smell everywhere. I'd love some insight into your moose strategy! I've listened to your podcasts as well trying to learn what makes you guys so successful!
Man that was an impressive hunt, and Moose. That thing is huge. I couldn't imagine packing that thing out. I went on a Moose hunt in Newfoundland, nothing like that. Good thing for us, we could drive with an Argo to get mine. Thanks for sharing.
What a pack, I have hauled a few of those and I know what you want through , crazy hard, great hunt, one you will look back on forever, congratulations. Always enjoy your movies.
Great hunt guys. I got to tell ya though I would be nervous packing that moose rack out on my back thinking maybe a less experienced hunter would see it and think they had a bull insight and decide to take a shot.
You certainly earned that moose! I lived in Alaska for 21 years and I've hunted in terrain like that. While watching the video, before you shot the moose, I was wondering how you were going to get the moose out of that huge alder patch. You did it with sheer determination, muscle power, a good attitude, and the exuberance of youth! Thank God it wasn't raining too! If I shot a moose in a place like that, I'd consider having a fifty pound bag of salt air-dropped to me and eating the moose on the spot!
How did the crispi boots hold up? I watched your video with your gear before leaving and next year I'll be heading up and I'm thinking about taking those boots with me
AWESOME VIDEO! You earned a new subscriber. I was wondering, you mentioned you hadn't seen a moose in a lot of glassing that you did. Had you ever found out why? What was the predator population like and if it's high has it put a lot of pressure on the moose population? Hunting, from what I hear, in Wyoming has been severely hampered with the introduction of the Canada grey wolf and the pressure it has put on the elk and mule deer population. So just wondering if the same thing was happening or maybe disease?
Finding the joy in the struggle is what separates the happy content people of the world from those that are always miserable. It's often only possible with God by your side.
Awesome video Justin! it is truly amazing, humbling even, to take a minute and appreciate the creation before us. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. What model of WBY are you using, the Vanguard or Mkv? also, I know the 300wby is a classic but why did you change from the RUM? Mike.
You guys were blessed with a great hunt beyond measure. Hard work, good times and memories forever. The Lord is great. Thank you for sharing this with us. Take care.
Loved this video...you guys are awesome...beautiful scenery and a brutal pack out...I laughed out loud when you put your frozen boot on then forgot to put your pants on first...God bless boys!!
Absolutely amazing video. Real hunting experience right there for you boys and those of us who watch and dream of an Alaskan hunt.Always been my dream hunt. Keep up the great video, and be safe. God Bless u both.
Awesome hunt! So after couple of days one looks @ the other one hunter as they're packing out the meat and asks "what's for dinner?" and the other one says "you know"....[elephant hunt excerpt]
Great video. Unbelievable country regardless of success. Did you fellas see any blackflies? I'm certain I saw at least one fly past your camera. Also, you're standing in a creek, so of course your feet are going to get wet.

That is Justin, the coolest video ever!!! I love doing the Jeremiah Johnson thing too! Just not to that extreme! North Idaho, as u know, is like a mini AK! So rad! Now id like to wack a bear this spring and pull that same stunt! Lol. Way to go, and God has blessed...with sore muscles too!
Great video, great hunt. Thanks very much for sharing. Just disappointed you didn't use the Guide Gun for anything. Love me some 45-70 action, especially throwing 425 gr and 525 gr hard cast. I guess it wouldn't do to showcase a Marlin when Weatherby is sponsoring.
can you explain to me how meat that is not bagged or at least three times cheese clothed left outside for three days is not going to be blown full of maggots from flies? Any meat exposed to the air for 48 hours will have thousands of fly eggs on it.
All of our meat was in game bags, I'm not sure what you are driving at? We are very serious about getting our meat out of the woods, it's what our families live on. We've been hunting all our lives and know how to take care of meat. We use pretty heavy duty game bags (Alaskan).

Why hunt the bear?
Meat? Fur? Trophy?
Can someone tell me please

You eat black bear, you tan the hide, and mount the skull. Nothing goes to waste.

Yeah, we had everything back at our other camp. We ended up too far away to go back and grab it when we killed the moose. We packed to another lake
