Ed is so badass.
I actually want to learn to play the banjo, after seeing ed play on the office. I'm inspired.
So, its 7 years later..did you learn the banjo ?
2 Banjos on stage, for me, is a reason to watch a video. And this is good stuff, love this version :)
This just blew my mind!
The fact that he tuned that thing by ear is respectable.
iACH2k once you know any instrument well enough you can do it.
pnut3844able well said any good musician can tune by ear
It's pretty easy.
he's fucking awesome! :) they all are!
Thank you for posting this!!! Love it!!
wow, he's really good.
Thanks!

Ed Helms is playing Earl Scruggs in the upcoming Bill Monroe Movie!!

All the funnies people play banjo because it rocks. :D

Smuggling in that Foggy mountain Breakdown Lick I see 😂 Ed you're pretty epic
What is that orange instrument that looks like a little guitar?
MallorcaOrcas mandolin
@SylvanaForrester CHEERS!
Yes, but I have to admit when I heard someone from the hangover was going to play Earl, I was almost furious. I thought it would end up mocking Earl's life so soon after his death, and It was really sad to think about. Thats when I found out that Ed Helms is a banjo player and bluegrass lover. That made me feel a little better, but I have to say the number of comedians in this film scares me. Bill's life as a comedy will only reinfoce every negative stereotype people have about this music.
Clearly, Stu is not like soft white rice in luke warm water....
I keep wanting him to say " RI DI DI DA DOO"
They need a bass player.
I'm sorry to say that my banjo skills are as lousy as these guys. Love Ed Helms though!
for real though.. who was the first guy picking banjo... terrible!
It's not the greatest recording setup; in fact, it's one of the worst I've seen for such professional video quality. But, the fiddler does make fun of the mandolin solo in the middle.
