I just love the comics so much ! I recently had to sell a LOT of comics in order to make some room and I had too many it was ridiculous. I sold a huge amount of Marvel, DC and Image stuff but kept all my Dark Horse comics ! Sin City, HellBoy and the Next Men were such a blast when they came out ! I still don't understand why they didn't make movies on the Next Men, maybe because of all the Xmen movies at this time ....
@@maxmcelhannan7477 Yes, a Dark Horse Cinema Universe (DHCU) is indeed a great idea as Marvel and DC are doing it. But the problem is that (much like DCEU), it doesn't slow down when creating its universe. Movies like the Mummy or Hellboy 2019 are that they cramped down so much stuff rather than start a slow approach. Look at Iron Man for example. The first movie had two references, S.H.E.I.L.D and Avengers. Same for the Incredible Hulk movie as we get a reference to Tony who is getting a sequel. It wasn't until the third film they started putting the pieces together and have their plan. Sure the movie bomb but that is not because of too many references. Now, look at Batman V Superman. I doubt DCEU was much planned after Man of Steel. But when Civil War was coming out they had to rush in for the cash-grabbing that is cinema universes. They suck at first, but slowly became their own thing with pretty good movies like Shazam, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. Even Zack Snyder Justice League shows how it can be much different and pleasing it can be just by doing its own thing. Here... It's just full of chances to build a cinema. Wouldn't it be great if Lobster's introduction was just that end credit scene instead of Hellboy flashback and the after credit scene? But hey, the movie problem isn't because it was building a cinematic universe. Rather it was the movie itself. Honestly, I expected it to be much more darker and violent. Something like a much darker version than this film if you will. Instead... It was a light Rated-R film with some of the worst CGI effects and a boring storyline.
@@johnathanholmes1297 it used characters that weren't in the previous films such as alice, the baba yaga, the blood queen, merlyn and that cheetah guy. they even teased abe sapian in an after credit sequence. plus in the seed of destruction a superhero did join the soliders with professor broom when discovering hellboy.
