    I’m from Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick, I’m Mi’kmaq. I know a lot of people from Tobique. Thank you for covering this case because I’m gonna try to see if we can find her remains. I heard Reid Perley murdered her and his family knows about it but they all keep quiet to keep him out of prison. Everyone is a scared of him but I’m not lol I’m gonna see if we can find her remains or a lead or SOMETHING. I feel bad for her family. Thanks for covering her case Savannah ♥️

    Even if the boyfriend wasn't as serious about Cathy as she was him, no person with any decency would leave someone with someone neither of them knew & so far away.

    Unfortunately this kind of response from law enforcement was very common back in those days, especially in rural areas of the country where they hadn’t had these types of cases before.
    The moment you said that they were staying on the Canadian 1st Nations reservation, where Reed lived & was a member of, my heart sank. The amount of missing & murder indigenous women (MMIW) cases that have occurred in/around both the US & Canadian native reservations alone, makes it understandable why no one who lived on the reservation would say anything. Between the fear of repercussions & the “normalcy” of seeing women treated like such, and nothing ever being done about it when reported, it makes sense why they wouldn’t say anything about it.

    Maine is a beast of its own when it comes to the legal/justice system. Being born and raised in Maine it is the oddest feeling I can only describe as you can’t wait to leave only to find yourself missing it when you do. We are the weirdest mixing pot of all sorts of people that goes unnoticed by the rest of the country. Growing chaos.

    The police completely failed this girl & her family. I think since she was so crazy about Lester that her getting in the car with him probably wasn’t even questioned by her she trusted him. Young & naïve. He never should’ve left her with Reed if that’s truly what happened. So sad.

    Sadly, after such a long time I don't think Cathy's family will get any answers to this case. I don't believe for a second that the 'boyfriend' left Cathy with Reid. I think that was just him trying to cover his own ass. Even if he wasn't as serious about Cathy as she was him, no person with any decency would leave someone with someone neither of them knew and so far away.

    I know police deal with a lot of "false" cases, like spending time and resources looking for a teen who actually just was late and forgot to call and I'm sympathetic to that no doubt but Jesus, what will it take for them to BELIEVE parents? I was a pretty responsible teen and even now as an adult, I tell my parents- if I don't return your calls or messages, if I don't show up when I said 100% I'd be there, the ONLY reason is because I physically can't.

    Was the field where they sat and drank at searched? The FB writer said it was marked where the body was buried. Idk if Lester planned on any if this. He didnt know Reed, and when he found out she never returned home he drove to Reeds and they beat him up allegedly. But then again, why would u leave your gf with a complete stranger!?!

  • @christinaherndon5699
    @christinaherndon5699 Рік тому +1

    The police systems failed that girl and her family. If I was her family I would have went after the police station and sued or got someone fired for not helping. Also Lester should hve known better to leave his girlfriend with a stranger. Yes he probably was scared of getting arrested but he couldn’t hve drove close to home where she could’ve walked or gave her money (if he had any) to get a bus. And lastly, Reid did something to her I can bet on it. And all those ppl that saw her and didn’t do anything it’s really sad. I feel for her family.

    As a Mainer, you really butchered a lot of the town names. Please do a little more research next time. Also seemed like you confused the dates, originally you said 1921 and you kept referring to Cathy as Carly. A bit disrespectful to not even get the victim’s name right.

      It's disrespectful AF to the victim and the victim's family. She could have AT LEAST wrote a correction on the screen OR put her mistake in a pinned comment apologizing. These families already have to at least know that other ppl are talking about their loved one, sometimes getting things incorrectly...but then if they listen to the story and hear the creator getting the victim's name wrong..its infuriating...and especially if it is done more than once. I'm about tired of savannah. She is not engaging with her audience and by the way her ads are...she's TOO money hungry.
