I loved seeing Zelma and Martha singing together. Too many people assumed Zelma couldn't sing because of the one video, and she clearly had a strong voice. And Martha's pipes are just legendary. They sound wonderful together.
I dont get why they didnt use her own voice.
RIGHT! ZELMA actually sang almost every song but because of that incident everyone thinks she's not singing when she really is.
It was only that one song that this occurred, Martha is amazing, Zelma can sing, dance and do it all; so underrated.
People seem to enjoy disliking her, it's so insane, I think it's cuz she's just so talented.

This isn't a dance track, this is a hip hop track, and it's GOD AWFUL. A well-deserved flop. Its parent album included only a couple of house tracks, the rest were horrible hip hop tracks. Clearly, trying to change a dance music act into a hip hop act was a mistake.

I'm old enough to remember this was supposed to be the groups 'comeback' of sorts. The song was popular but didn't skyrocket. I agree with someone below this song does seem ahead of it's time for a 94 jam.

I was thinking the same thing! This song and video would easily fit into the late 90s scene. It has that psydo-futuristic vibe popular around 98-99. The song itself could even be out of 2000-01tbh. And yeah it sucks that Freedom Williams left when this came out. It probably would've been a hit with him on it instead of Trilogy (who most people have no idea who they are). Trilogy did their thing on this though!
This was HUGE in New Zealand, I can tell you that. C+C Music Factory ruled the clubs in the early 90s.

I didn’t realise Martha was the voice behind C&C music factory AND BLACKBOX until I read about it online.
Martha was only the voice behind Everybody dance now on C&C first album. Zelma was the lead on the other tracks. They both shared some leads on this second album.

Love this jam from my youth. It's good to note a corner bit of history of this tune. After C&C was caught stealing Martha Wash's, (the plus size diva in the video ), vocal track for C&C's hit tune "Everybody Dance Now" this video was made after she sued C&C. It was good they put the incident aside and made this track. It was definitely a jam then and still is one today.
Martha wash is one of my favorite vocalist. Her, along with her late singing partner I Zora roads who both sung with Sylvester.

A group that c+c made called trilogy
This album is brilliant. The album where Martha Wash is brought into the limelight and not just a backing singer. There’s a track on the album called “Takin’ over” where she just blows me away and unfortunately was never released as a single. Take a listen to it and you’ll see what I mean. Powerful song and lyrics! Don’t get me wrong, love Zelma’s voice, she was the voice of C & C , but there’s only one Martha Wash and the woman is soulful and sexy. Martha Wash was one of the two women from the group “The weather girls” most famous for their classic “Its raining men” Also was the voice behind “Black Box” Another group, like Milli Vanilli, that proved to be a “fake” and Martha gained the attention more so after it was revealed that the woman fronting the band, was actually lip syncing to Martha Wash’s vocals. Black box was huge back in the day with club hit after club hit. A lot of radio play too. Yet all along, it was Martha singing 🎤 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I was bumpin’ this on the way to work and still goes hard. C+C always brought that high octane energy on all of their tracks. This song is my favorite from them though. The uptempo beat, the energy and of course the vocals by the ladies.
