    I remember the infamous "Fingerpoke of Doom" angle. Then I remember thinking to myself "What the hell just happened?" Then I burst out laughing, because I knew they did it for controversy and to troll the entire arena and fanbase...

    I'd like to see Scott Hall, and not Nash, do one of these. Hall always had a eye for talent, a phenomenal understanding of psychology, and knew how to get over as a character.

    If I said it once, I've probably said it a million times by now (unrelated) Kevin Nash has THE BEST genetics I've ever seen....the guy is 57 years old and he HASN'T AGED A BIT IN THE FACE!!!! (besides the grey hair) he looks just as young now as he did back in early 2000

    If the big jump doesn't happen, that means the MSG Incident doesn't happen and Austin doesn't get booked to win King of the Ring, do the 3:16 promo, and become the biggest thing in wrestling....

    • @DAKINS896
      @DAKINS896 7 років тому +1

      The king of the ring honestly didn't do much for Austin at the time, that is a false narrative to be honest, he hardly got any heat from KOTR 96 and didn't start getting heat until 3-4 months later.

    Do y'all have shoot beef with the concept of basic white balancing? The extreme reds in this video, Nash's hair in particular, make it look like it was filmed next to a Kenny Rogers Roasters sign.
    If you took the roughly 15.6 seconds to point sample a hard black (like the piping on Nash's top) and a hard white (like the white board or the papers) in Premiere, your videos would look 10000x better and be a lot easier to justify spending money on.

    I always found it incredibly ironic that Nash started the "vanilla midget" garbage despite being good friends with HBK and X-Pac (neither of which were ever six feet tall or 200 pounds).

    • @pikkon899
      @pikkon899 8 років тому +2

      Shawn had charisma and could outperform, not out wrestle, but could outperform every single one of those guys in his prime. X-Pac was not a technician but was good at getting the heat on the heels because he lookd like a kid. The term "vanilla midget" went to guys like Benoit, Malenko and early Eddie Guerrero. In other words, they were guys who could wrestle but had 0 mic' skills and 0 charisma. All of their focus went into their wrestling and nothing else. Bret and Shawn weren't strong promo cutters either but they were better than early Eddie, Benoit and Malenko on the mic'.

    • @dgenerate707
      @dgenerate707 8 років тому

      it's the other way around bro Pac could out wrestle the Roster he just wasn't at the stage to cut promos his first Run. According to Nash and Hall, Vince liked Pac because he was a disciplined Lightweight/Cruiserweight guy who could do most of the Highflyer stuff without leaving the ring or always going to the top rope.

    • @pikkon899
      @pikkon899 8 років тому

      Tucker Batson
      I never said he was bad. I grew up watching Pac as the 1 2 3 Kid. Me saying that he wasn't a technician is not an insult nor does it mean he was a terrible worker. Bret Hart, Kurt Angle and Billy Robinson were technicians. Pac wasn't but he was good that's why Hall knew it was a good idea for Pac to go over on him as the 1 2 3 Kid and he was right.

      Shawn actually was over 6 feet and over 200lbs he just so happened to be starting in the dinosaur era where everybody was a roided giant over 6'5. When Nash talks about vanilla midgets, he's talking about guy's that are under 5'8 and have zero charisma.

    Kevin Nash is always one of the more interesting people to listen to in these types of interviews, but this guy couldn't wrestle or book an event to save his life. Ten hours would be a lot to write in one week, but had WCW gotten their shit together and organized a few different booking teams (consisting of people who were actually interested in doing their job, not people like Nash and Dusty Rhodes who obviously didn't care), it couldn't have been that difficult. There should NEVER be a time when it's 3 minutes to bell time and a finish still isn't written -- that is ridiculous, especially for a multi-million dollar company like WCW, and goes to show just how little they cared about the company and how little respect they had for their fellow employees. I was an ignorant teenager during the end of WCWs existence, and even I couldn't believe how badly they were screwing up, and how easy it would have been (with the talent they had under contract and the Turner checkbook) to at least match ratings with the WWF; who also had an unbelievably bad product.

    So I was really excited about this shoot interview and couldn't wait to order it On Demand. But I gotta say, I was really disappointed with this one. It's still watchable, for sure, but the first half of it is just Nash reiterating just about everything he's ever said on any podcast or shoot interview. He's charming and smart like always, but he's rehashing everything just like Raven does on all his shoots. You've seen one or two and you've pretty much heard all his thoughts on everything.
    Then the last half is the booking part and he just kinda throws some matches together. Just like in the trailer, you don't need to think too hard about who's gonna be on top and who's not. There's no real storylines, there's nothing mentioned about a war with WCW, and rather than off-handedly giving Scott Hall the world title at some point, the whole "What if the Outsiders stayed Inside" premise is completely forgotten. In fact, they're not even a tag team in this scenario.
    He just sort of goes over who he'd give a push to and that's it. Oh, and he immediately books himself to beat Taker's streak at Wrestlemania.

    • @KayfabeComment
      @KayfabeComment  8 років тому +4

      Was the premise "the outsiders are a tag team" or "the outsiders don't jump ship"?????

    • @Boomer2k6
      @Boomer2k6 8 років тому +1

      To be fair in 1996 Taker was something like 5-0 at Wrestlemania with his conquests being Snuka, Jake Roberts, Giant Gonzalez and King Kong Bundy and Nash himself at WM12...it wasn't really a streak at that point.
      Many of the Guest Booker's tend to be fairly disappointing in that regard as they're usually 2 hours long with 1 hour being a basic shoot about booking and the 2nd hour being booking about 6-8 weeks of content with a rushed finish. Cornette's was a full program and it was a huge DVD.
