@Speci, I remember studying one of your videos when I first started playing Gwent. It was when a bunch of Relicts were released (self eaters, witch apprentices, Gherni etc). That was the first deck I crafted and I must of watched that video 100 times to mimic what you did 😂. Good to see you back! You’re right about other card games, none of them match the depth and strategy that Gwent offers. As you can see, the community is still thriving and I personally know people that have just started themselves. The game is far from dead like people thought it would be. As for giving players all the cards for free. I think they should give new players a ‘welcome pack’, which would be a nice boost to begin with but not all of the cards. Gwent is one of the most F2P friendly games I’ve ever played. You gain plenty of keys and resources just by playing and I think new players having something to work towards is only a good thing. The reward book is packed with free cards and kegs, as well as a section aimed at new players, allowing them to get cards very quickly. A welcome pack that gave them X amount of kegs to open or maybe all of the cards for one faction would be cool.
You should return to the game. The playerbase has grown since Gwentfinity began, and Balance Council has been a big success in keeping the game fresh. Many people would agree the game is in its best ever state!
nice seeing you gwenting again. as for witcher 4, the issue isn't ciri being the mc, its the lore breaking which treats its long time fans like stupid people. ciri was already her own character, a powerful sorcerer, to piss on that and make a "witcher", which isn't possible according to the lore itself, that's what people are upset about, its the Netflix treatment all over again
To be fair the games aren't canon to the books. So, as for lore CDPR have creative freedom to alter the story to how they want with reason of course like how they brought Regis back to life. They could loophole Ciri surviving the trial of grasses (if she even went through with it) because she has elder blood and is one of the strongest characters in the universe. Comparing CDPR to Netflix is stupid because Netflix changed the source material while making a 1:1 live action of the books. Anyways, we now get to play as Ciri in a new chapter of her life as a witcher and we get to see her character grow and develop even more. I'd say this is a huge win and "fans" need to get over it.
