this machine is beautiful, final results not bad. being in need of a simple sequencer for my hardware units (Circuit, T3, Keystep...) would you go for this or the QY70?
Well, there are a lot of worst thing on this machine if you are too demanding with it. It's a nice looking portable sequencer, totally immersed in the zeitgeist of the 90s, but very limited and cheesy in terms of sound
Not so hard to program. Go to patt (pattern mode) and look for an empty one, select the voice you want to play and then go to record and put the bars (measures) you want to fill and rec those bars playing the mini keyboard. You have 4 tracks to fill this way.
There are two modes of record: Step and overdub. On pattern just press rec and before doing anything else press menu, then select ovr for overdub recording and its done
@@audiowanderer Thanks. I found some different points about it. Someone says that although the output jack its phisically stereo, the sound output is always mono (no stereo separation at all, even with drum sounds). Can you confirm that its stereo? I'm going to purchase one of there, but if the sound is mono I will not get. Thanks again
You can assign every track to left, right or center but nothing in between. More details...www.polynominal.com/site/studio/gear/sold/yamaha_qy10/yamaha-qy10-manual.pdf
I don't have the unit ready to test it but I remember it was selecting a new pattern totally clean, then go to the right and you discover the pattern length, put the bars you want and press enter or ok. This from memory, not sure if is everything correct... More info: ua-cam.com/video/d5i66uPOe8g/v-deo.html

QY70
Other than not having a Swing feature, the WORST thing about the QY10 is how freaking loud the metronome is.

It does have swing feature
I found one of these in my uncle's old stuff, its so confusing to use without a manual...

@@audiowanderer Thanks so much.
Hello, I do need an info. I know there is a stereo jack for the output, but the actual sound output is stereo or mono? Many thanks.
Yes. The output is stereo

@@audiowanderer There is a feature in the system menu about it? Something like a mixer for the tracks volume and pan? Many thanks for the infos man.

How do you make a pattern 8 bars? I can't seem to figure it out.
