Miru is such a good chimp. Mid to Low ranking but just a pure sweetheart! She's great with all the youngsters, and always calm and peaceful with the Gals. She's an Awesome friend to Sakura! Diva Sakura has settled down lately, but that Poor Girl wants a baby of her own so bad! I keep hoping they let Fubuki impregnate her to create a New Super Chimp! 🙂 Fearless Fubuki and his antics combined with Sakura's Diva ways should make for quite a unique lil baby chimp I would think! 🙂 Let's Hope So!
Great video. The males in this troop are some of the “sanest” ones I’ve seen in these zoos. The females seem to be in estrus frequently but I’ve noticed that with the other zoos as well. “Panting” or kissing? I think the combination of the good use of space and equipment plus the group size is well done by the zookeepers.
Does “sane” mean they ignore the desperately aroused females? All I keep seeing is girl on girl behavior so until I read your comment I wasn’t sure the troop had any males. Where are they and why are they not interested in these females? Or do the females prefer the “insane” males and these are just too calm? Or maybe the VO is only filming this type of behavior because it gets more views from human male “superfans?”
I really hope someone replies this time. I’m new to this channel and these chimps. Are there no adult males in this group? All this girl on girl kissing and putting their genitals in one another’s faces, etc. but I never see them approach any males nor do I see males approaching them despite their huge “Give it to me now” swollen rumps practically lighting up for the taking. How are there babies in the group if there’s no heterosexual activity?
It's a sign of TRUST! Chimps have extremely powerful jaws, especially the lower jaw. They're capable of biting off digits of other chimps. They can do great harm by biting each other in Anger while fighting! When they greet or approach a leary chimp, they'll place hands and fingers in the chimps mouth as a Sign of Trusting them! They also take another chimps entire Snout into their mouth as a sign of trust! Odd to us, but it works great for the chimps!
Why does this female keep trying to get the females to mount her? I understand she’s in estris (sp?) but aren’t there males she could actually get some action from? I’ve seen her seemingly only pursuing other females in multiple videos.
Sakura & Miru are two of my favorite beings on this planet of any species..i could watch them everyday. love love them.
