From his journey from Sahnewal in Ludhiana to Mumbai where he was first auditioned by the greats of Indian cinema, Bimal Roy and Guru Dutt, and cast opposite Nutan in Bandini in 1963. He also tells Consulting Editor Khushwant Singh that he was emotionally blackmailed into contesting the 2004 Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate from Bikaner in Rajasthan. Khushwant Singh elicited responses which he has never given anywhere else.The cliches were'nt there,which gave this interview a fresh dimension.I have known Dharamji as a human being and family man from close quarters and Khushwant as a friend and fan as well.What a refreshing interview.

Dharmendra ji is one of my favourite Actors since my childhood when I use to watch his films. I have also learned so many things from him and his wonderful personality. GOD bless him always. I have myself started a career in the film world my latest movie is 'Combativo" And I must say that the host taking this interview is well cultured and has a nice personality.

This is something very emotional, arguably the greatest Indian actor ever but undoubtedly the best looking actor India has ever had. Dharmendra Sir was the FIRST Indian who was in the top 5 best looking men in the world, I think somewhere in the 60's. I literally have tears when I see him giving interviews. Its such a joy watching him. Thank you so much Mr. Up loader.
PS. BTW I am not a very old person I am 33 years old. Just happened to witness India's Golden age with todays Dinchak.

The interview was only sustained due to Dharmendra’s personality.
But the interviewer is the worst I have ever seen! He was interrupting, his tone was not sensitive enough and he did not expand on the answers that Dharam ji was giving!!
Especially for an aged person who has years and years of memories and experience to tell..it was very disappointing to see.

He is not speaking any pakistani punjabi dailect. He is just speaking malwaee punjabi from Ludhiana. He has been living in Bombay for over 50 years doing hindi/urdu films. It is influence of urdu that you are seeing in his punjabi. Moreover urdu was medium of instruction everywhere in punjab before partition. He also grew up learning urdu in school.
