Actually the webcam isn't as bad as it seems to be. It seems quite clear and not those noisy webcams that even gaming laptops have. It's actually quite good IMO.
720p webcams are not all the same. At least this one looks really clear. My webcam on Legion 7 is so noisy. I don’t care about it so much though. I even hope people can’t see much of me through my webcam lol.
As long as it's sharp it's and slightly less noisier its good enough to be use for casual meetings, classes and presentation. I'd approve of this to be good for students.
Finally... FINALLY a Laptop that makes me say "Yeah, I would pick that over the M1 MacBook Air" Acer really did good with that pricing and battery life, truly fantastic
I would still pick M1 air due to the build quality and reliability and also better single core which is useful for productivity (its purpose) but for gaming then 💯 the swift x

@@sagnikmukherjee5108 Hey Sagnik. I've bought and been using this laptop for around 1.5 months now. So far it's amazing and overall I'm very satisfied. As for the audio, well it's not the loudest but It's sufficient for me. Worth noting I always use a stand whenever I work so that might help.
they should at least added another heat sink perpendicular to current one (like two heat sinks on same fan) and extend heatpipes even if it's one fan. i think that would have made it way better in terms of overall temps during heavy workloads
I love Acer laptoos bcos of their value for money but their ugly bezels always bugged me. The bezels on this still looks bad bcos of the plastic used, but it looks a 100 times better than the previous ones. I'm in the market for a new laptop and this right in my price range. I think I'm gonna go with this one.
I have it,your concern is right. It's not the best screen you can get. But still, it's really a sweet laptop. I think it's worth it to sacrifice the screen for this level of performance.

Hi, got one recently with a R7 5800/3050 variant... and I got to say, when I played around with the DTS Audio, it sounded great, around 7/10 for overall fullness, compared to a 2021 Zephyrus M16. Yeah, the PG-UP/PG-DN keys are a bit hard to get used to. Installed 1TB+2TB SSDs on it, for portable workstation... very good experience when travelling.
Is it good tho, I'm thinking about buying swift x but after reading some comments about acer, I'm not sure. Never had acer before. How long have you been using yours? Are you satisfied?
@@icehead5400 My parents were using Acer since 2000s, I got my first laptop in 2015. It was an Acer Switch 10, it was a good value for money. In late 2019, I got the Acer Swift 3 and I'm still using it. Very satisfied, just the thermal throttling is a bit annoying but still considerable since it's an ultrabook.

@@thegoodnews5866 I've played Apex and Valotant, also helltaker and cattle crashers, for me it perform really well manage to max the settings for Apex and Valotant also I'm using da Vinci resolve and all good, I don't really noticed the part of the keyboard or speakers, they're great the screen is perfect, the only thing is that I only got 5 to 6 hours of battery, but it put it through a lot so, no complains at all, the best choice.

@ I dont really know, because I charge it at morning before leaving my house, and use it for all i need during the day until night, sorry I cant tell you exact measures, but I got 5:52 hours of screen in an 16 hour use day

I actually just bought one. It is a bit of a shame that the RAM is soldered, but even the 16gb options are well priced, so it isn't that much of an issue.
I do a fair bit of 3D modelling and the 6GB of vram on the (3060 model) G14 is much better for that. On top of having a much better cooling system, screen, ports, and upgradable memory. Only thing you lose out on is the webcam
Reaons I'm picking this over M1 MacBook air are having a fan, 16gb of Ram (Macbook's Ram upgrade cost 200 dollars ), better for gaming because of that GPU , more ports, i don't have to worry about apps being optimized for my cpu and Windows OS. I don't really care about the look, of course its a bit ugly but im ok with that, for me performance is more important.
I have this laptop and my biggest gripe with it so far is that neither the HDMI nor the usb c port are wired to the rtx 3050 ti, so you can't connect pcvr headsets unless you have a quest (wanted to use rift s with an adapter from type c) or a high refresh rate display to game on. You can connect a high refresh rate display still, but it's only wired to integrated graphics so no real gaming there. Still a good laptop
How did this perform when multiple adobe softwares are open and running(like after effects, premiere pro, and illustrator)? Were there any issues? I plan on purchasing this for graphic design and video editing.

This laptop is awesome. For the price point its basically the only ultrabook that includes a dedicated gpu. A zen3 8 core 16 thread processor. 16gb of ddr4. You can add another nvme drive if you want. And the screen is excellent. 10/10
I am also deciding between this and the MBA. I do a decent amount of Photoshop and mostly 1080p video with certain 4k shots editing on davinci resolve. I'm leaning towards this Acer laptop, but what do you guys think? I've never used a Mac before, and I've heard ppl complain of how hard it is to get used to macos from Windows.
@@damianxavier7343 I've used both OS before and I don't think it would be that difficult to switch. That said, it mostly depends on what you value. If you want discrete graphics for any use or care at all about gaming, this would be better. Otherwise the MacBook has better battery and probably a better screen.
For $999 you know Acer did not hire a top-tier sticker guy. It's more likely they just gave sticker placement to plastic guy, and that guy was pissed that he had to perform an extra duty, probably without extra pay. And by the way, having a silver deck, bulging plastic bezel and that champagne colored top ledge when the laptop is open looks horrendous. I agree -- just make the thing one color. So every time you open this thing up you gotta look at that and more importantly, those real crooked stickers.

The GPU consumes only 40 watts at a maximum, so its performance is not commensurate with your imagination of the 3050 TI. But 1.36KG, don't be too picky

Hi ^_^ Yes, it can do Zoom. Actually, I think it is a bit of an overkill for Zoom or other daily productivity tasks. But of course, it is better to get a bit more powerful laptop than you actually need so you don't have to worry about sluggish performance at all. However, if you want a laptop just for online meetings then keep in mind that the camera, the mic, and the speakers on this laptop are fine, but not great. If you don't mind using macOS (some apps might not work on mac) and sacrificing the dedicated graphics card (you won't be able to do graphical design nor gaming), you might want to consider MacBooks; generally, they have a better display, mic, touchpad, speakers, and a premium look. My Acer Laptop battery easily lasts for hourss. Gaming will drop it alittle quicker but not by much rly. Its pretty consistent and then up or down about an hour or so, based on screen brightness and whether using a program thats using the graphics card a lot. Like editing, gaming, development, etc. But even watching movies you can get 8.5hrs+ on full brightness and full volume, no problem. Thats pretty impressive to me

Only perfect laptop for students is small thin and light with ryzen APU At lower price like $400. An ultra expensive laptop can never be students laptop. At $999 its more like business laptop

U have to realise they use $2000-$3000 laptops all the time so for them it technically is. Plus could also be considered reasonable for the specs offered.

I've had 2 acers (My old Aspire 7720 and my current Swift 3) and they surpass all the other brands I've had. (HP, Packard Bell and Toshiba.)

@@siddhantyadav450 cpu is only 20W and GPU 40W. I’ve seen a single fan used to cool hotter components.

The GPU consumes only 40 watts at a maximum, so its performance is not commensurate with your imagination of the 3050 TI. But 1.36KG, don't be too picky

Yes, it can do Zoom. Actually, I think it is a bit of an overkill for Zoom or other daily productivity tasks. But of course, it is better to get a bit more powerful laptop than you actually need so you don't have to worry about sluggish performance at all.
However, if you want a laptop just for online meetings then keep in mind that the camera, the mic, and the speakers on this laptop are fine, but not great. If you don't mind using macOS (some apps might not work on mac) and sacrificing the dedicated graphics card (you won't be able to do graphical design nor gaming), you might want to consider MacBooks; generally, they have a better display, mic, touchpad, speakers, and a premium look.

My Acer Laptop battery easily lasts for hourss. Gaming will drop it alittle quicker but not by much rly.
Its pretty consistent and then up or down about an hour or so, based on screen brightness and whether using a program thats using the graphics card a lot. Like editing, gaming, development, etc.
But even watching movies you can get 8.5hrs+ on full brightness and full volume, no problem. Thats pretty impressive to me

If you think about reasonably cheap but good laptop take a look at IdeaPad Pro 5 line. It has high-res screen attractive design and good performance.
