Loved your reviews... hoping for The Bee Sting too...read Prophet Song & enjoyed the writing style, listened to Western Lane, tragic family loss impact really saddened me, a stunning quiet book, read Study for Obedience & reflected on the deeper intra family abuse & coercive control. Sadly I DFN'd This Other Eden, as doesn't read how the children were described & didn't get to If you survive, as short stories book are my usual reading. I enjoyed In Ascension & also read Old God's Time from the longlist. Looking for to this evening...
I'm rooting for The Bee Sting to win even though I haven't read it yet 😂 It's definitely the one that appeals to me most and your enthusiasm for it is so contagious!
My favourite after finishing all books was Study for Obedience, but as time passed, the Bee Sting is now a very close seconds. It's the one that I just keep thinking about all the time. I hope one of those two wins. I had thought Prophet Song would be up there as well but it kind of fell flat for me. Like you, the vagueness really annoyed me after a while. And for a book set in the near future, I would have liked it if it discussed some current topics like mass surveillance and internet propaganda.

I got on well with Study for Obedience, if it wins I wouldn't be surprised.
