Was saying the USWNT has more guts than the Men's team in starting over when something isn't working GB! U17's and 20's champ is Spain...they will be around for a while...it may take another WC to really be one of the favorites again. This may be a reality check. Friendlies against South Africa in less than 2 months!
I wouldn’t mind Sonia Bompastor, and I think she could come and make the cuts and call-ups the USWNT needs. My concern is that her native language is French.
Jimmie nailed it- my question is if US Soccer has put a plan in play to start girls playing soccer at a good level at a young age. Do they recruit the players at a young age into a system that they are trying to build. Look at the USMNT. There are many more players playing at a high level all over the world than we ever have AND the MLS is going to, eventually, play at a higher level, because Messi is going to make them play better. freaking. defense (as a former very amateur defensemen, that's been killing me). Does the USWNT make girl soccer players into USWNT players?

Thank you for raising this point. The under 20 uswnt team present coach should be looked at, I don't think she is the right coach for the team. I would prefer the under 17 uswnt coach to take the under 20 team.

I’m tired of hearing the excuse that the rest of the world has caught up. We regressed and this coach made them soft. Rapinoe should have never been selected for the World Cup. The young and upcoming players that sat on the bench got no experience. The inmates took over the asylum.

Here was the guy's problem- he was 'the nice guy.' Rumor is that he wanted to be more of a friend than a coach. If true, this is so wrong in so many ways. I'll put money on the idea that he let the women manipulate him into putty. He overcorrected by being inflexible and he lost.
If true then the USA deserved to lose and unfortunately he lost his job because of that
That educational component ... isn't this the same problem that the US Men are facing? We just don't have the infrastructure here to compete with the European clubs? And is it just that Europe is finally catching up on the women's side but they have the programs to develop their players better than we do?

unpopular opinion, he wasn't that bad. they just weren't good. I mean 2 opposing shots on goal and 28 for USWNT. They should have won but players just didn't make the plays. Could he have been better, sure but seems like people are under reacting to the real problems.
