Nice impressions from the track. "It seemed that most drivers were not very expierienced with driving on a race track." Strongly support your opinion. Thanks for uploading.
For those who see a video of my Channel for the first time: My core business is lost circuits. I explore abandoned race tracks and lost sections of operational circuits by car, foot or drone. If you like this kind of stuff, please subscribe to my channel so you don't miss my next exploration video! The day I visited Maoolry Park I actaully want to go to Silverstone, to explore the lost parts. But the press officer of Silverstone didn't answere my request, so I decided to visit the circuit as a tourist. Unfortuantely, it was closed for visitors that day. So I went to Mallory Park, wich was on my route to my next stop, Donington Park. At Mallory Park I could enter the site for free and watch the track day. So a thumb up for Mallory Park and a thumb down for the press officer of Silverstone!
In the early 90s I watched almost every race that was broadcasted on TV. Those days I saw Mallory Park for the first time. A funny small circuit with some fast and slow corners.
Interesting to see them use the two chicanes that are normally only used for bike races, and not the hairpin. Mallory has lots of issues with noise restrictions - bypassing the hairpin and the extra cone chicane on the start/finish straight may have due to that.
Today (September 22, 2018) at 10PM Central Euopean Time I do a live broadcast from the Abandoned Circuit of Nivelles-Baulers in Belgium. Don't miss it! UPDATE: Check the replay here ua-cam.com/video/HURWV9s6-Is/v-deo.html
Ciao Herman, It's a shame you found Silverstone closed, they weren't elegant in not responding to your request. Couldn't you ride here in Mallory with your mighty V6?

I'd never heard of this track before. It looks super cool!

I don't know the first race, but I remember Mallory was used for racing motorcycles in the 1960's
It is in Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire.

They also built a chicane on the straight with traffic cones (see 2:53). They want to slow down the unexperienced drivers.
