STUN-NING!!! 🇵🇹 😍
What have we done to deserve all of these uploads? I think this is day 3 of a full upload each day , with we get a day four ?
The gentleman leading you through the stud is great. So knowledgable and charismatic. ❤ These stallions are so calm and gentle, they are well cared for. Just stunning.
I couldn’t catch his name on the video, but the gentleman who showed you the riding school is absolutely wonderful. What a kind soul and a wealth of knowledge. I would LOVE to spend time talking with him.
I believe I caught the name Fransisco. Totally agree! 🥰
@@Ghiwine Not the horse, the gentleman
He is Francisco Bessa de Carvalho, a very well known rider in Portugal and the founder of the Stud Farm Lusitanos d'Atela
I have two Lusitanos, Dia (2008) and Tsunami (2023). The naming system is so cool to me! They are honestly just the BEST horses!
You're such a natural presenter Meg, and OH MY GOD I absolutely must visit Portugal some day, what a gorgeous place ❤
Meg should come to Finland some time to ride Finnhorses. I would really love to see that
I love this travel series. That whole trip looked so fun and stunning!! You should come to the united state's next!!
I have a suggestion for a place to visit, you should go visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police musical ride! They tour the country, doing drill team performances. They are all police officers in the RCMP and they dress in the red Mounties uniform. Depending on where in the country you go, they have a breeding facility, and a training facility!
Love the Mounties.
What a great adventure. Your banter back and forth with the instructor guys is priceless. I think they have all fallen for you....😅❤.
Amazing horses and horsemanship.
Thank you Meg, for taking us on this lovely trip. I had wanted to see you ride on a horse like a Lusitano and can't wait until your next rip. South America maybe?
Nice bit of culture Meg! Roman ruins, fine wines, beautiful locations, classical Equestrianism! How about the white horses of the Camargue for a visit.
Wow! I'm in love with Lusitanos. All stallions, and so well behaved and calm. Just beautiful. Looks like Portugal is a wonderful place for horsey people to come and visit.
Love seeing it all like the traditional saddles and things makes me almost want to visit for myself. I love seeing the different breeds aswell like the roman noses.
So nice to see you visit Portugal! 🇵🇹
… and so cool to see you share some of it and the traditional Lusitano’s!
Meg ,you definitely should come to South Africa, besides the good weather the sights and culture, oh and the big Five, seeing it on horse back is so awesome
So enjoyed this! I hope you had fun riding through the vineyards? My experience was riding at the age of 8 through coffee bean plantations outside Nairobi, Kenya. Rode solo on a 16 hands high horse called Squire. Fell so much in love with that horse and cried heading back to the UK. Wanted to take him home! Had an amazing tutor/tour guide, who was trained on riding horses in Germany. He was absolutely amazing and told my Grandma that when we got home to UK to ride solo. The rest is history!
Wow! It never fails to amaze me how different, yet incredible other countries traditions are! 😍
Tank you for visiting my country
You should come to South Africa you would love our riding safari’s
Talk about a pinch me moment wow just incredible ❤
An amazing series.
Did you see that Piaffe!! My Lord above!! Just as good as the Lippizzaners!!! No effort at all!! No Rolkur as well, perfect V in the legs, hind legs so under the body, you can see all that power being used correctly!!! Loved watching your trip, Meg!! Thank you for sharing it. I've seen the Lippizzaner Stallions up close and personal like you just did with the Lusitanos. All the training that the riders go through, as well as the horses. It's just amazing!! I hope a lot of people can get to go see them when they get to England. Trust me, it's well worth the money you will spend to see them!! Best Regards, from your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦🇬🇧

Great video! 🐴
I downloaded Cavago and will for sure book something. Meg you are such a star. I hope you get to do your own horse travel show some day!
SO many people say first. That just tells her you just want to say first. It's not a competition anyways.
I would love for hobbit to experience some of these things too 🎉
The fact that you're a Swiftie made me love you 10 times more lmaooooooo omg
Wow there gorgeous horses 😍
Hi Meg love your vids!!
Art in motion 🤩
The horse at 25:00 has the most interesting skin pigmentation on his muzzle and eye! Almost reminds me of LP but that isnt in the breed so howwww lol
It's too bad Pete couldn't come! What an amazing trip!

Amazing!!
Love your vid Meg
First
Love this type of video ❤😊
This is what dressage used to be and what it should be again - somewhere along the road we seem to have lost that in high level dressage competitions. This looks so harmonious and effortless compared to some of the things you see "top" riders doing at big shows.
Great video Meg
This is amazing Meg! I watched your first vid while making treats for our horse cookies business and I will watch this one while making more treats!
You neeeedddd to come do Canada. Please!
feels illegal to be this early lol
Is "two years after Christ" after the Incarnation or Resurrection? 2 AD or 35 AD? Either way, awesome experience, thanks for taking us along!
love all of your vids but can we please have an update on the foals?
I think I would have the carriage horse :D couldent do the wine thing as my meds dont mix with alcohol XD maybe in the next one you could go to one of the horse rescues in the area to hi-light their rescue work, would like to see that
Why do horses chew on the bit?😊
Bored or teething normally or they are a youngster and it’s new to them so they don’t know what to do with a chunk of metal in their mouth so they chew it
They also chew when they are relaxed and sometimes when they are agitated so it really just depends 😅
But most of the time it’s out of boredom
My birthday is on the day they go to the UK and I can’t go
Lovely. Only thing that slightly horrified me was the horse with the docked tail...
Could have been the result of an injury or infection. You never know...
@@stephaniebattison2334 it could, but in that case why not give the horse a false tail so it can deal with flies like any other horse...
@whizzywoo582 How expensive are those? Genuinely don't know, but I'm going to assume that they're pricey. Or maybe they've tried a prosthetic tail & it didn't work out? My point was that we shouldn't jump to conclusions. We don't know anything about these people, this horse or their circumstances. So we should probably reserve judgement.
@@stephaniebattison2334 Expensive??? You are kidding me right, of course the horse's comfort wouldn't be worth spending money on. This horse appeared without its tail with no mention of why and it's not okay - horses are still being mutilated in this fashion for aesthetic reasons and it's barbaric.
@whizzywoo582 For all we know, these people rescued this horse. Are they still bad people? These horses are obviously well cared for. Are they just supposed to pass up buying a horse that has a perfect temperament for their business (where complete novices might be sat on this horse) because its got a docked tail? How about you lobby the Portuguese government onto banning the practice if you're so against it? But you won't. You won't do anything except type on your phone to complain about people whose only "crime" is buying/owning a horse with a docked tail. & again, WE DO NOT KNOW why the horse's tail was docked in the first place or who did it. Even in the UK, tail docking is legal for medical purposes. I didn't mean it wouldn't be worth it, but if those things are really expensive, then not everyone would be able to afford buying one. You know, after their bills & routine horse care expenses, there isn't enough money left to buy one, so it takes them a year or two to save up for one. Or maybe they've tried it & the horse got stressed out by having this random thing attached to it's tail. Stop making judgements about people when you know NOTHING about their circumstances. Could Meg have addressed it to give us more info? Maybe. But based on the information WE HAVE, these people have done nothing wrong. Not saying I wouldn't change my judgement if I got more information, but I don't make up my own stories to fit the narrative I want.
You need to come to Australia dxx
Wow!! Do u like Taylor Swift songs? What an amazing trip?
