Sorry Kevin but American Lobsters are not the best in the World. The Lobsters fished in the British Channel Islands (Guernsey, Sark, Jersey) in the Southern English Channel between the French coasts of Normandy and Brittany are probably the best in the world. They take longer to grow, they retain less water and have a firmer texture and more flavour. Something about that particular geography and environment produces the finest tasting lobsters in the world. The waters can turn exceptionally cold with strong tidal currents which may account for the thicker shells and firmer meat, but that may be anecdotal, but the taste is real. The East Coast North American lobsters around Maine, Mass. and Nova Scotia are certainly very nice, and far superior to the Asia Pacific lobsters which grow in warmer waters and quickly reach very large sizes and have almost no flavour in comparison. But if you love the lobster, the British Channel Islands are your Mecca.
I like eating lobster 🦞 but killing them like that, I bet is not the best way to get the best taste. Totally unnecessary. Being humane, can lead to a great tasting meal too. The natives understood this. But hey they were spiritual. In time people can figure that out on their own. I’m very spiritual, and when I hear they scream, it makes me feel uncomfortable and awful.
