No. He died. And his ghost waited for her to be born, grow up and come to Scotland. Then, during the festival when spirits are allowed to haunt Scotland he was there.
The first time he takes her to the stones he leaves because he can’t bare to watch her go. This time he holds her until the end to make sure she goes and to hold her as long as possible before she leaves
This scene always makes me cry like a little baby. It’s sad that Claire had to leave Jamie for 20 years. But it was no other way. They had to keep Bree safe!
Have you seen Jamie's face at 3:57 you can see how it painful it was for him. To let go of his woman. I cannot with this acting. Deserves and a friggin' Emmy.
Since the nineties I've read all of the books and loved each and every one. I've only recently become aware of the Netflix series and the ability to watch the episodes on TV. I'm not normally moved that easily but now all I have to hear is the Skye Boat song and tears come along. When you have actors that can make you forget that you're watching TV and take you to the moment that they're in and make you feel so much it really shows what a gift they have. There's no way that I can binge watch more than the first two seasons because that's all I can take. So far season 5 has been the most intense for me.
I hate how he says "even if I could go back through the stones, it's not my place" because it's literally a chance to live a safe happy life with his wife and child and it breaks my heart knowing how sorrowful the next 20 years are for him
I think he might have felt that he cheated God by changing his own fate, besides he would feel guilt for leaving his mates to the battles while he has the comfort, his conscience wouldn't have it.
He is a warrior, he feels his place is next to his men fighting to the very end. Leaving with Claire, even if he could, would be cowardice in his eyes.
Everytime I watch them, doesn't matter which scene I cry. Please let him go through the stones one day in the future 😭😭never ever has a story touched me to the utter core. I thought Note Book was it, but then Jamie and Claire ❤️❤️♥️♥️ appeared. My word what an intense chemistry they have 💖💖
I always want to see the scene when Jamie was on the stone after Clair had just gone and left her cape... how he was afterthat, was he amazed with her visible vanishing?
Episode 1 and 2 is My Favorite ❤ But So sad Jamie and Claire Need to separate for 20years💔💔💔 Well I'm waiting for season 6 and Many Seasons to come❤🙏🙏🙏🙏
Lloré tanto me vi por un momento en esa escena cuando me despedí del hombre que amo y que no he vuelto a ver, no sabes si habrá otra oportunidad cuando te despides así de alguien que amas. 😞
Devastating! Caitríona Balfe, a wonderful actress, she conveys a feeling of extreme pain, while Sam Heughan conveys the harsh resignation of losing his beloved, pregnant Claire as the highest price for saving her and the baby from inevitable dead.
Can someone please tell me if Jamie and Claire end up together?! I've read somewhere that Claire marries a lord. Is it true? Does she really leave Jamie to marry someone else? Please tell me!
I don't love, I won't love, I won't let myself be hurt and for what ? Some sort of sentiment that passes, some surge of hormones that injure the soul. No.
This episode made me cry like I'd never cried before. This whole scene was something..
Ага, глаза вспухли как валики...
Same 😔
My mom was getting emotional and I went, 'so THATS why they wear kilts!'
"Lord you gave me a rare woman and God I loved her well" ❤️❤️❤️
yes, for some reason the second part of this amazing sentence was edited out...
@@TheLindafoxcat Probably because it became a bit less PG 😅
Whrn he says to claire:"i'll find you. I promise". I think this explains ghost Jamie looking at Claire at the window
Aye, I think its him
and probably the A. Malcolm publication find by Richard
200 years latéral. ....... he found hêr
maybe. for Jamie Claire is a rabit I guess
No. He died. And his ghost waited for her to be born, grow up and come to Scotland. Then, during the festival when spirits are allowed to haunt Scotland he was there.
Their acting is so amazing it’s impossible to understand reality from fiction.
Yesssssss!!!!!!!
When jamies says
"lord u gave me a rare woman"
I think everyone wants someone to look at them the way Jamie looks at Claire
Aww... That's sweet

For that you’ll have to be as beautiful as claire lol I’ve never seen a more beautiful woman than her
@@siggy-thecat2023 I guess you haven't looked at a lot of women then
to be fair Claire is probably the only woman in scotland with a full set of teeth in those days.
@@purefoldnz3070 yeah, I would also be a star there, TAKE ME TO THE STONES!!!!

May god bless this level of acting!

And season 5 the worst for me, so boring
@@ehb9449 No, the worst was the sean 4. It seemed that the protagonists were briana and robert super uninteresting their plot
@@nicolepeirano4474 you mean Roger ?
Well I agree about season 4 not being extraordinary but 5 was kinda boring until the last episodes
@@ehb9449 yes I mean Roger I'm so bad with names. Season 5 was also kinda boring but season 4...I was just disappointed.

No matter how many times I watch/read this scene, I always end crying 😭
I have seen this scheme over and over and still breaks my heart every single time
me too and those tears in Jamies eyes😢
Dragonfly in Amber was one of the best episodes in the series.

Dragonfly in Amber. The one and only episode that run for 90 mins.
This episode made me cry a river T_T
Amazing scene. Brilliant acting. Wonderful music. Perfection in a nutshell. If only every man were like Jamie. Who would ever want a divorce??
I always want to see the scene when Jamie was on the stone after Clair had just gone and left her cape... how he was afterthat, was he amazed with her visible vanishing?
There is a brief scene like that in episode 3.01 Battle Joined. We see Jamie picking up the plaid she was wrapped into and inhaling her scent.

This is after that. This is during the finale when she goes back to frank right before the battle starts
