As a Beijinger I just want to say that your video is fantastic! Qianmen and Gulou are my favourite places in Beijing and a lot of locals go there quite often. These are really the best places in Beijing and they are so unique! Thank you for sharing and thank you for your brilliant interpretation : )

The Hostels in China are so beautiful. So much character and comfort. Love the hostels in Beijing (courtyards). But my best hostel choice is in Shenzhen at the Loft.
Yes we love staying in hostels we actually included one but it had shut down recently so we had to take it out. I will check that out if we go back to Shenzhen.
Great video! I’ve been to Beijing 15 times since 1992 and had witnessed the incredible changes! My favorite city in China for sure, offering the old and the new! Hope to visit yet again in the near future. Thanks again for the memories!
Great vid, Nico! You might have forgotten one thing or two: BJ offers a wide range of world-class museums too: Chinese history , culture, traditional & contemporary art, military, aerospace, etc... BJ also hosts some of the largest zoos in the world.
A Chinese watching travel guide of Beijing 😂Thank you for the wonderful suggestions!Next time I going back home will go these places, really want to try the MUJI hotel.

Beijing is great for a tour or historical stes, if you're prepared for a *lot* of walking. The forbidden city, the oracle, and various cultural heritage sites are all huge. They are great for exercising not just your mind but also your legs. :-)
Hi Nico, My wife and I watched the raising of the Chinese flag , one very early morning. How amazing. If you haven't watched it for real yet, I strongly suggest you do. Need to get there super early, like 2 hours before sunrise, to get to the front of the barriers. Graham.

Very informative video Nico . Always love the quality of your videos and this one doesn’t disappoint Been in China nearly 3 years myself but still haven’t been to Beijing 😲 hopefully will get the opportunity to travel there soon especially after seeing this video .
Beijing is safe, clean, efficient, and not very expensive. I think Spring and Fall are the best time to visit. Summer is stifling hot and humid and winter can be cold and windy. Go to Temple of Heaven early to see the hundreds of seniors doing their dancing, exercising, singing, or just having a great time with other seniors. Signs are mostly bilingual.
