So so happy y'all started the journey of listening to ONEUS. I got into them after listening to their brother band, ONEWE for a long time. Y'all would LOVE ONEWE, too, since you love band music. Plus ONEWE's bass player/ produce/ writer had his solo debut this year and has released two mini albums already.
Super excited you finally got to these guys. They are so underrated! Looking forward to future reactions. You will like their brother group Onewe if you get around to checking them out to.
To answer your question, yes they have a very expansive lore and part of that is detailed in a vcr that was shown during road to kingdom. That really will come into play when you get to the song Come Back Home. And yes the crystalline structure was a practical effect. They are well known for conceptual videos and keeping their fans (Tomoons) guessing what's coming next. If you want to stick with only title tracks next would be Twilight, but if you are wanting to check out b sides I cannot not recommend the songs Hero and Red Thread off this album. If you are wanting to jump around in order of things then Luna is a turning point for them. Like you mentioned the play on "light us/light up" and the word Valkyrie, Luna works with older style of speaking as well. Lit (가자) is another that brings out a lot of traditional Korean sounds too. The ONLY two songs I would say HAVE to be watched in order are specifically To be or not to be followed by the song No Diggity because TBONTB leads into No Diggity. All in all Oneus has amazing vocals and an ever evolving stage presence. I cannot wait to see your journey through their discography.
As someone who ULTS and mainly listens to Stray Kids I only actively support, ie. buy albums of, a handful of other groups. They are Oneus, Ateez, Xdinary Heroes and Xikers. I'm looking forward to more Oneus reactions from you. I love and recommend Luna, Same Scent, Erase Me, Unforgettable and No Diggity. They really are amazing vocalists and dancers and genuinely sweet guys. BTW Road to Kingdom was an incredible series with amazing performances, I highly recommend you watch it.

Oneus has a brother band called onewe and oneus' maknae xion and onewes dongmyeong are twins. Onewe is a self formed band (they were using the name MAS before onewe and rbw) i really recommend you to check them out as well (they have some collabs with oneus too also has a ft with hwasa and has many covers)
Oneus is an amazing group with a variety of discography, vibes, and concept. My favorite was Come Back home because I believe it showed off their amazing vocal talents and it had an amazing concept around it. Luna is another, it was the one that was their first win. It shows a beautiful merge of traditional sounds and modern (they did it as well with their song Lit). But its hard to say which ones you should watch since none of them were bad. You could like the vibe better on other songs, but every concept and song they hit out of the park. They also had a large hand in the lyrics and song production as well as dance (especially as they got further along).Their album Malus (title track Same scent which one 4 awards also a good song) in every track number a member received credit for and one of their member was the performance director.

I recommend Oneus’ newest track Baila Con Migo, also their songs No Diggity, Luna, Come Back Home, To Be or Not to Be, A Song Written Easily, Erase Me, Bring it On, and Lit. I really recommend you check out Onewe as well with such gorgeous songs as AuRoRa, A Book in Memory, Reminisce About All, Parting, End of Spring, Regulus, Universe_, and Montage_. The two groups are closely intertwined in that they do a lot of content together, even songs like Last Song and Stay. They all trained together and shared a debut show, plus often appear on each other’s music or vlogs. (Plus one twin being in each group makes them actual brother groups, lol)
