Thanks once again Anthony In the middle of the video I paused and create a couple export presets. Makes things much simpler. No longer have to scroll through the screen to ensure my export settings are correct. Thanks, didn't know this was possible.
Thank you for your helpful tutorial Anthony. I always back up LRC, however the one time that I needed to restore a backup I could not do it. It would be great if one of these day you could make a video about it. Thank you!
Great Video. Just a little note re backup the catalogue when closing lightroom: Whenever you do that Lightroom Classic will create a NEW backup file. This file is quite voluminous so that after a few years you will fill up your disk with lots of those backups (in my case each single backup is about 3GB in size: Each of them!!). So what I do is to go to the Lightroom backup folder and there I delete all the old ones and I just keep 2 or 3 recent ones. That will do. I wonder why Lightroom does not delete old backups by default. Why would you need hundreds of backup that will fill up you disk over time?
Hi, Thanks for your video. As a raw beginner in LR I cannot find the settings that your view shows across the upper right hand of your screen: Library , Develop, Map Book....etc. Do you know how I go about finding these settings and place them across the upper right hand side of my LR screen? Thanks in advance and cheers, Fred Jansohn
Great video as always Anthony. Have you done a video that explains the meaning of the characters that are shown on the corners of the thumbnails in the Library module? I know to hover and it will tell me, but sometimes I fail to grasp the meaning. Thanks.
Enjoyed the video. Two questions- 1- why do you export images to your website at a resolution of 300, rather than 72? Seems to be asking for images to be stolen. 2- My catalog size is greater than 4 GB and every time I back up I get a warning dialog box about needing third party software to open it. Is this significant and should I do something about this? Thanks
Right now I use solid state 1 TB portable HD's to back up my DNG RAW files do you find drop Box to be a better choice? There are so many cloud services any particular reason why you use Drop Box? Thanks great CH !!
I need help and I hope I can explain it right.. I use LRC for a while, but I have the feeling my work flow is messed up. My photos are everywhere on different hdd. And I have also had too much photos imported than necessary (raw files which I want to delete) I bought a NAS recently for backup But here it is.. I bought also a 8 tb hdd and I want to keep that as my head hdd. now I am having everything on a external hdd but it's smaller. What can people tell me. Just start a new catalog on the 8tb and import everything? I hope I had explained this right. 😂
I like to use Bridge to do many of my edits anymore, just simplier process to me, and basicly offers same as LR, almost. I have never paid much attention to the Preference optons, in Bridge, and such until now. After watching, I was just wondering how Bridge writes Information, stores it, as I dont see an option for write to xmp file in it's Preference and such in Bridge, or does it still write to LR Catalog?? Also as side note it has different Option On My Windows PC in Bridge. That include, Preferences, Color Settings, and Camera Raw Settings, and Keyboard Shortcuts. The Color Settings is interesting as it has an option for Creative cloud sync, ( im thinking to link all color across into , PS and maybe Genrative Fills to Cloud ?), also for Web, General , Print. never really considered all this, or why would want one over the other? Lots Of Cache settings, Ect.
Use a high pass filter set at about 100Hz on your voice-over tracks. Your voice recording is too bassy, especially for those of us watching at a production desk with a subwoofer attached. Love your channel!
@@thuryn.mitchell lmfao because that's not how a pro does it. I've been an audio engineer for 35 years. It's not "fine" or I wouldn't have said anything.
@@natepotter6911 Perhaps not but a 'pro' would recognise that not everyone has a subwoofer attached and also recognise that the effort they would have to do is nothing like the effort required to create FREE education.
Perhaps rather than 'truthful' which is a pretty inaccurate and snidy comment, you could use ' more explicit in the process' - there's no harm in being polite (and more accurate) when someone is offering educational material at NO EXPENSE to you, or perhaps you'd like to post free stuff and see what comments you get in return for your effort.
@@blackislepeastoo agree, take a deep breath and "google" what you want or need. For instance, here's "one" > command + / > will pop up all the short cuts for the module you are currently working in. Tip: "screen shot" it or take a photo of it with your phone and you can have it open on your phone beside you while working. Further, Adobe has a page that you can bookmark showing ANY shortcut you desire.

This is a very helpful 'settings' video on Lightroom Classic! Thanks
Great information. I was aware of some of it, but I learned some new things. Thanks!
Great video, thanks for all the information, just changed from another program to LRc, this is a big help.
Thanks once again Anthony

Thanks Anthony! Always helpful videos, appreciate them helping me discover new things in LR6.

Great review and reminder. Was there a setting that backs up files on two different drives?
nice video!
Very Helpful
How much space does your Lightroom training course take on the computer and can it be saved on a external hard drive
Hi Anthony! The discount code does not work for the Lightroom Classic.

When I'm finished editing some of my photos، I want to filter them in a way that only shows the photos I've edited.
how does LRC know when to auto backup each week? does software know about every sunday or monday etc per week?
I need help and I hope I can explain it right..

For the metadata preset, I'd recommend NOT included a physical street address which essentially reads, "Really nice camera equipment lives here."

Why?
