Thanks for this, chief! Act 4 is brutal, especially when coming from act 3, which is by far the easiest in the game.
Nearing the end of my 2nd playthrough, and your videos have been AWESOME. So handy to refer to when I get stuck or overwhelmed. This is one of my top 5 games of all time, with over 250 hours clocked up so far. Bring on DOS3 🙏

The only thing I could really do at lvl 17 was the large brawl on the island here 3:00. The large vampiric voidwoken is a challange, but the paladins make it easier.
This fight here 1:46 is only managable at lvl 18 for most party compositions.
The summoners here 2:34 are level 18, but I'd recommend doing them at lvl 19, since they revive each other if you can't kill them fast enough.
5:56 There is another demon group inside Kemm's garden, south of the main building. All 3 groups are level 20. I think it might be possible to beat them at lvl 19 already, but still, it means that the entire school (7:50) is off-limits until lvl 19.
8:30 Reimond is relatively easy at level 18, so I would say do that right after picking up the free xp from the dog's quest here 10:23.
Then either to the spiders in the sewers or to the plants in Kemm's garden 12:50.
Kemm's Vault here 13:40 is for much later, the statues are relatively easy with a mage in your team, but the fight after that is for level 19-20.
I think the hardest part is getting up to level 19, if you arrived in Arx at level 17, because everything is for lvl 18+.
i arrived level 17 and im getting stomped here how im supposed to advance in the area if u can advise me anything coz I'm losing all the fights and thinking to start new save coz even my gear not doing much almost getting one-shotted from all the enemies .thank you in advance for your reply.
@@salehalnajem1063 At level 17 I got my ass kicked by the voidwaken fight.. i did it like 8 times and finally won.
I died to the Summoner fight enough times I gave up.
i went into the sewer and beat the spiders.. whom when they die release death fog.. thank God I have Fane as aDPS wizard.
I just released the boy from the cage and killed him (Karon the godwoken is who the boy really is).
I beat Wendigo after releasing her.
I am now 18... hoping to be able to complete this game
when I reached arx in classic edition I immediately stopped playing and then reached the arx again on a second playthrough on the definitive edition glad I did also thank you for not giving any spoilers I haven't completed my game yet! Amazing walkthrough and guide !!!!

I'm so glad that you got the new Arx guide uploaded, I just arrived there a few minutes ago and by watching your old Arx video I was shocked at how unfinished the zone was in the classic edition. And then I saw this new video in the recommended list.
New Arx is great. Changed conversations, npc placements, new encounters, new enemies, it's optimized well. Have fun in Arx. :)
Act 3 and 4 are kinda short. I rly love them tho. especially since all the crazy bosses are in act4. I love act 3 cause you find out so much about fane and the gods and about the power. stuff like academi+5/-5
Just finished Arx (and the game) and your guide has been most helpful. 5 things I would add:
1) The Nemesis encounter can also happen in the SE corner of the Kemm Garden. A way to cheese these encounters is to teleport them while one party member is talking (I killed the Advocate but for some reason they didn't aggro, but I attacked them anyway for the XP). For example I just teleported the school yard demons to the Magister barracks, closed the door and blocked it with crates. Lord Kemm and the Paladins killed them in 2 turns.
2) You can get the armour sets from the doctor's basement very early on via the Voidwoken Fish Exchange scroll (you need to kill the Dwarf on Bloodmoon isle in Act II), and then teleport back out using another pyramid. This way you can get the loot at level 18 or below, do other quests, and then come back to the doctor after you reach level 20. The Kvyn chest armor is very useful for a tank, as it allows for one free movement as well as a jump ability in addition to phoenix dive. It's the only level 18 gear I kept for the final boss fight.
3) Buying gear from vendors becomes essential as money is now much easier to obtain, especially with the moneylender quest. I ended the game with 260k gold, after buying every single useful bit of gear from vendors, and selling the old ones. The fights become much easier with good gear, and as you level up much slower they're useful for longer periods.
4) You can go very deep into the Path of Blood (and there's a fast travel point deep inside) and come back out without triggering the point of no return, which is useful if you need XP. However do "The Mistake" quest in the sewers first before you go in there. Use deathfog barrels if you want to cheese "The Mistake". I always carry 2 deathfog barrels in my inventory, and send the rest I came across to the Lady Vengeance.
5) You can get the Paladins to fight with you in the Consulate, all you need to do is to pull the cursed revenants outside with teleport, so that the Paladins aggro. They will stay in the fight as they'll also aggro with the revenant spirit. It's a good way to conserve your source points if you don't have access to the source fountain in Kemm's basement, as the revenants will run out of cursed fire to resurrect themselves.
Thanks a lot, I have most of that in my videos, didn't want to spoil everything in this guide. You don't need to kill the Dwarf btw, I had 3 Voidwoken Fish Exchange scrolls in the last playthrough without killing anyone. About vendors, they are still crap, but now I ended up with 2 000 000(the game was easier for DOS2DE). I had a great time with divinity, now we just wait for DOS3. :)

I have an encounter you didnt mention, i got attacked by 4 assasins by the bridge with the necro/scroundel trader
First i didnt know what triggered it but i think it was because i talked with windego about kemm and then went to kemm and told him about windego and black ring. In his secret room is an assasin contract

After i arrived at arx, the first thing i did was killing kemm with all his paladins in one round XD.
Wish the dream portal was easier to get to. The Dragonling is like the best summons in the game
Killed doctor at lvl 17, necro with all the bodies at the entrance of arx you than pyramid to the fight and use reactive armour stun him and kill him
On my first run through on classic or normal whatever it's called and those paladins were awful. Only saved 2 of them. Am I the only one who thought it odd that the blood fury vpidwoken seemed to be able to attack 3 to 4 times per turn for HUGE damage?

I charmed the bloodfury voidwoken twice and he killed quite a few of the voidwokens for me. Crazy ass fight. I was still.level 17 so had to cheese it a bit

You need to finish their quests in previous acts or they will die in final act.

Bro I reached Arx with Lvl 18 and I get my ass kicked everywhere 😢
When I got into Arx I went straight to the Doctors house before I got ambushed by his assasins. I killed a lot of npcs good and bad, just because how they reffered to me or ticked me off in their ways. The way I handled him was quite unorthodox. I was lvl 17 with my party. I had Sebille,Beast,Ifan and my custom Necromancer/Pyromanic. I walked into his house blasted his secretary. Put 6 Oil spots with fossil strike, waited till 5 npcs entered the fire. Fireballed it with a scroll. Then summoned Bone widow and Condor to keep the npcs occupied. As soon as the doctor slithered his way to me I used the Rinnegan Swap spell idk how its called. So I swapped the dead secretary body position with him. I casted Inner demon on my custom boy. And I spammed Terrify till his magic shield didnt go down. Once it went down it was all down hill from there for him. I was like "Introducing the wheel of CC" Cripple->Silence->Slow->Sleep->Terrify->Stun->Knocked down->Petrify. As the wheel spun all his allies just died while trying to walk to him as they were teleported back because I tought all my party teleport. Was a long battle but I cheesed as much as I could for lvl 17.

Game is amazing but Acts 1 and 2 are godlike, and then you got very short Act3 and Act 4 is only city :/ no exploring just quests, thats sucks
Yeah, but still it's 70h-100h of content for only one playthrough with huge replay value(I got 6 playthroughs for DOS2).

Tnx, but, no, I don't want to, game crashed on me 3 times in Definitive Edition and once it corrupted my save files, imagine if that happens in Honor mode, I'll freak out. There is only one save in Honor mode(altough it's exactly the same as tactician). My previous experience was in Diablo 3 on Hardcore(one life only), my internet was gonne for less then 3 sec and I ended up dead in the meantime(1000h+ lost), never again.
I don't have that much time in life now.

You are not under leveled, you are fine, just go to the city and find the sewers.

Arx is garbage man! Not fun and just annoying. It’s a shame the game started out awesome in act 1 and 2 but act 3 and 4 went way down hill
Arx has it's good moments(Adramahlihk and Rex fights are hardest in the game), sewers are also cool.
It's far better then Nameless Isle for sure.
