Thanks Nottsy!
Hey, I think i asked you a question on twitter, not sure how often you check. I'm looking to buy my first camera and get into astrophotography. I notice you list the canon EOS6D which is out of my price range. However i have found a EOS 80D with a 18-55mm lens IS STM.... would this be suitable to get underway? I plan to buy a star adventurer 2 mount
I think the 80D is a great camera for the price.. the touch/swivel screen really make a difference for us in the dark with our cameras upside down.
@@DylanODonnell Thanks! Can you recommend a suitable telescope in the $1200 range?
Can i auto guid with a SE mount??
Hi, was the auto guiding through the telescope view itself? Can I do that with my tracking alt-az mount? I've never connected it to the computer before.
Yes, exactly! Cool huh?
Thanks, I'll look into that. I try to avoid more cable like the cable plague... but sounds like it's worth it.
Will i be able to connect my zwo asi224 camera?
Which hardware do you need to use this with a camera?
Hey Dylan what is the link to download Firecapture
Hey Dylan (and everyone else here), I've tried the Asi224 on Jupiter for the first time tonight using Firecapture, and after stacking my video the image I got looked great but when I zoomed in it was very pixelated. Is there a setting in Firecapture that I'm using wrong? How can I get a decent size Jupiter without the pixelation? I'm using a Newtonian 200mm f/5, no barlow. Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me with this.
couldn't get the auto guide trick, should the camera be horizontal in plane?
Yes rotate it so the frame is up-down / north-south at rest on an equatorial mount.. or in Jupiters case at least, so the bands are horizontal.
Can the atmospheric distortion be extrapolated out with software?
Yeh I didn't mention it because I don't shoot with a colour camera for planets. Firecapture has ADC built in. But imho you'd only need ADC for a live view. You can realign colour channels in post processing if they're off.
I decided to really break the rules and did $6.69. By my messed up math that is 69 - 6 times! :) Awesome videos man you got my back into the hobby and now I don't have to worry about having any pesky extra cash laying around. :)
Great comment and great donation! Thanks!
One week hiatus and D's come back is on "FIRE", ............................................................capture.

Do you know any free softwares for deep space tracking ?
#69DUDES
Actually, I donated 0.69€ that in AU$ is like... A billion?😅
Maybe 0.9 billion AUD .. yup!
Mars was fantastic!
cant do 90% of these because color camera and manual dobsonian someone pls donate computerized scope and mono cam with filters
Given your penchant for everything Apple, and the name of the software, which was suggestive thereof itself, I fully expected it to be MacOS, but alas, ‘twas not. 😪😉
Why did you post this as soon as I came inside from a planetary marathon?
To taunt you, clearly.
Utterly confused by auto align do you connect the mount to the camera or do you connect the PC. Having never used any tracking all I see is it works great but no one says how to connect to mount. I have a skywatcher scope with synscan and duel encoders the 250 P
Research your mounts USB/cable/ascom connection.
Why is the image so fuzzy?
69 DOLLARS NOICE lol i am just binging your videos at this point...i might just join the #69dudes GANG
Hehe
When you go into setting and you said you flip something....what was it you exactly clicked on?
If you notice it's autoguiding the wrong way East-West (left right) then swap RA in the guide settings... if it's wrong North South (Up down) swap DEC
As always brilliant video and great initiative! Donated 0,69€ - we use decimal comma over here ;-)

Well done team!
awesome video Dylan. Donated USD $20 towards the firecapture project. Worth every cent (although I am yet to use it in anger).
You need to get your priorities right though mate - I expected a beer on screen. Disappointing. :P
Hehe you bloody legend
@@DylanODonnell I have no problems with paying for software (have bought sharpcap pro, PixInsight, Maxim DL years ago, APT etc). Devs need to eat too and we're so lucky in this hobby to have great guys writing software for the community. I still need to buy SGP pro (will try both SGP and APT and see what I prefer).
PS I need a hand with my planetary imaging setup - could you offer some advice? - I'm not sure on the best way to set up the imaging train. C9.25, moonlight CS2 focuser, siebert optical 1.5x barlow (trying to hit that optimal f15 for my camera setup), flip mirror, zwo efw mini focusing wheel, zwo 290mm camera.
I get very confused still with all of the different connectors and how to set up the imaging train correctly. Have just joined the Brisbane Astronomical Society (waiting on membership to be confirmed though), although work won't probably allow me to catch up that much.
@@davepastern I think ota then barlow then everything else
That 60 year old observatory in Port Macquarie has received a grant of almost $5 million to build a new observatory and science venue.
1000th like!
about a year ago ı started to saving money for zwo asi 290mc but because of the f virus ı cant buy it because its out out of stock on every f store
It’s insane isn’t it? Check for an equivalent QHY model ... they are very good. I use qhy a lot.
@@DylanODonnell thx for an advice I'm checking right now
Can’t get my SVBony 205 to work with it, any suggestions?
Drivers ?
It says it’s not supported, only sv305 and up
I hope the clouds leave me alone tonight to have a crack at Mars.
at your service sire. 0,69 € donated.
You rock!
You just don’t drink beers? I thought your drop was fine Aussie dry red 🍷🔭🍷
#69DUDES The minimum was $1 so I did $5. I'll donate more when I can. I Love the software and his tutorials.
You rock man :)
Instructions unclear. Donated €9.69. Also, camera caught fire.
