Nah it was because he stopped hooping on the days he lifted. Kenny was at his best when he played MK, that’s when he was his most cut and in shape. That was also the best basketball Kenny ever played too.

There is a MASSIVE difference between the talent and skill at the D1 level and there are different levels of talent within each division, which is why every athlete isn't good enough to go pro even after playing at the highest college level. The athletes also have to meet EXACTLY what the organization is looking for at that given time in order to make it.
I have helped rehabbed former athletes. One specifically, played with Shawn Kemp, Shaq, Alonzo Mourning while in his college years. He is 6 foot 9 and now in his 50's, which is when I helped him. Even in his 50's with aged knee pain after a serious knee injury while in college, he was fast, agile, and strong. It was like he is a building standing inside of another building lol.

He may not have had the desire to play college ball until he got to college.
Recruiting in his area could've been non-existent.
He could've been offered D1 scholarships but wants to go to a specific college that does not know who he is because they just didn't recruit within his region.
