Thanks so much for the banana comparison! I would love to have that huge one like yours in the yard but I fear it would not make it through the winter. Even if I properly 'winterized'. I do have a red banana on the deck that has done fantastic since I moved it outside. I just love the way it looks. Mine is just like one of yours.....short and stubby. 😆 It works for me. I love the tropical vibe. And it sounds like our summer has been the same weather wise. We decided to take a long weekend together and we've had......three days of torrential rain. 🙄 Hope you two have a great week and safe travels J.
@tammythompson1927 you are welcome, just treat it like a canna, my red bananas are getting taken out of the pots and stored in the basement with the canna. I might sacrifice the small one and propagate them again 🤔, but the bigger one goes into the basement. I cannot wait for our 2 week vacation to start, we need some us time. And, as usual I'll do a video. But still a couple of weeks to go. And more travel with work in that time. All the best to you guys ☺️
@@jochen.allardice-grein You definitely have to show me how to store the bananas. I only harvest seeds over the winter for my canna. I'm gonna get bigger, taller pots for them next year for sure.
I love watching your videos and your sense of humor. I planted my bananas this year in June and they are still small compared to yours, but look just as tattered. Weather here in Hanau this summer has been the same, lots of rain, cool temps and wind, and also I have three large oks that are dropping acorns. My Ensete have been eaten by grasshoppers and shredded by the acorns, time to clean them up.
Thank you so much, that you like my videos, you cannot compare your banana with mine 😂, mine have been in the ground for years (well I started with 1 and now I have all of them) and should be bigger, I use to cut them down for the winter at the beginning, the past few years I have been wrapping it, so the stems are there in Spring. I know your pain with acorns, the back of the garden is surrounded be Huge Oak trees from the neighbours and I have about 100 little ones growing all over the place. Hanau, I know that area well, I am originally from Frankfurt 😃 Gruß Jochen
