This Roller Coaster Scared The Heck Out Of Me!

  • This intense roller coaster at the Silverwood Theme Park near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, reaches speeds of 65 miles per hour and produces a 4.5g force on your body in the most powerful turn.
I had a GoPro Hero 7 Black attached to my wrist with a strap. My intent was to point the camera straight and steady... but as you can see in the video, after that first drop I was just holding on for dear life and the camera's view goes sideways!
Aftershock opened in 2008 and was voted the top hanging coaster by Travel Channel in 2012. The longest drop is 177 feet and the ride inverts three different times.
You must be at least 54 inches tall to ride Aftershock, and no more than 80 inches tall. It's a thrilling rollercoaster that scared the heck out of me, and there's no way I'm ever riding that thing again!
Silverwood theme park is located along highway 95 in Northwest Idaho, about 20 miles north of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The nearest town is Athol, in Kootenai county. The park features numerous roller coasters, slides, and theme park rides with intensities ranging from gentle to intense, as well as a water park with two wave pools, a lazy river, and numerous water slides.
I visited Silverwood during an 11-day Pacific Northwest vacation in July of 2019. I'll be posting several other videos from this trip in the coming weeks.

This coaster previously operated as Deja Vu in California at Six Flags Magic Mountain, hence the original blue/green colors! ;-)

Awesome video, Jim! Just subscribed! My sons have been watching your train videos for the past three months, and now they are interested in getting trains for Christmas!

A suspended Vekoma boomerang, that’s gotta be rough

Potato Cat yes, but giant inverted boomerangs are known to be smoother.

Fun Fun Fun, Thanks for sharing.
How about that silver ride off to the right towards the beginning, was that a roller coaster ride too?

Looks silver in the video, but it's actually a wooden roller coaster. It's "Tremors"... the one featured in the previous video.
