- Last month, I got an email from a company claiming to be the next big Electric vehicle - so I flew to Vegas to meet their CEO and see the car! This is the video of that experience and everything I learned:) Hope u find it valuable!
I'm very excited and committed to the craft of interviewing and making them as great as possible!
Stoked about it ! More in "Conversations with Tech CEOs" coming soon! Then next week the video will be the OnePlus 12R day in the life review!:)
The company: olympianmotors...

Happy Friday!!
More interviewing to come - love learning from so many smart people in tech, and it's a privilege to share those learning with you. Truly. Thank you so much for being here ! MUCH MORE TO COME
Nice interview, but I think these start up company's should still do there own thing but find a way to be able to retrofit things like self driving or support for better faster charging methods , so the cars can stay relevant if they choose to move in that direction in the future
Finally!! An EV with a traditional interface!! Nice!!
This modular idea is pretty cool and makes a lot of sense. And I think you have interviewed more CEOs than many CEOs have met other CEOs lol. So crazy.
i Wonder if there can be an EV Company that create a Base frame and sit your own chosen un copyrighted design and be able to tell you the safety rating and calculate range depending on the aerodynamics of the design you choose, would be cool .. modular, sounds like a great move toward that, hopefully the chosen body you choose doesnt compromise the Structual integrity
like...a EV kit car?
@@RVDL yeah, but like if you could go in with your own design that fits over there Skateboard, and once they run it through a crash test simulation or aerodynamic test to predict the range youd get from the base and if your happy with the results have them 3D Print it using Metal
There's no real competition for Tesla in the US, because the US is protecting its domestic market. China is leading the charge worldwide. Would the US let the (dozens of) Chinese competitors enter the domestic market, and Tesla would be done.
well id always be Cautious of Chinese made cars especially trusting my life to its self driving capabilities, soo far tesla is doing great trying to cover all aspects of its cars, from the charging grid and reliability and testing of systems
the only cars id feel safe falling aleep while it drove me home in the future might be a Tesla or Google made Car or Mercedes , maybe a BMW .. i feel most other manufactures lack in safety or self driving tech
I'm not in the US, but I can't name a single Chinese car manufacturer...Which ones are leading the charge worldwide?
As per December 2023, 16 cars on 20 in the top World EV sales are Chinese. 7 models from BYD alone. Others are from Wuling, Aito, GAC. @@fuzziestlumpkin
BYD, GAC, NIO. Top 20 EV sales worldwide 2023, 16 models are Chinese.@@fuzziestlumpkin
A modern coachbuilt EV with timeless design circa 1920s / 1930s
Yup and thus very limited demand.
I don't think Musk has anything to worry about here.
But, more choices, more better.
And a modular body on his "Skateboard Platform" means choices aplenty, potentially.
I applaud on that fantastic interview! Very well done!
Thank you so much so happy you liked it 🙏🏻
I can't wait to see you test drive one, Jacklyn!
Ah thank you so much for watching until the end Rob 🥹
I like no screens, just buttons and switches, much better than faffing around with menus on a screen. This has potential.
Appreciate your being here:)
I think the happy medium would be similar to how glass cockpits are done in aircraft, big screens displaying everything but the controls are still knobs and buttons.
" Vintage Looks Outside... Modern Tech inside"
A whole lot of people craves for that
Nice Thumbnail btw
Waiting for you to test drive it ✨
Thank you so much for watching until the end 🥹🙏🏻
There really isnt any tech though..
Huge potential!!
I work in automotive industry and let me tell you, it’s insane!! Congrats on the interview!!
Thank you so much and that’s awesome !!! What do u do in the industry?
@@NBTJacklyn we make suspension parts, design some new parts for EV’s for all North America Currently! FYI end 2024 there will be a lot of new EV’s from you current known Automakers…. 👀
PS I’m over Quality (supplier, in house and customer) and New Model department!
Love the idea of a modular electric car platform. Can't find any references online, but I feel like I remember reading about an attempt towards a modular platform in popular science/mechanics ~10-15 years ago.
IIRC one of the benefits they posited back then was that as it was modular and fly-by-wire, it made it easy to add more accessible controls (eg an option where throttle and brake are controlled with hand controls for those who can't operate foot controls)
Cool concept but not at that price, maybe for half of that... Also, I would like to see a crash test, those doors are so slim, no way that thing is any safe, but hope I'm wrong.
His vision is so cringe. Why do we want cars from the 50s with only knobs? Because YOU do?
That car isnt going to work in the US, its missing mandatory technology too like blind spot monitoring etc. The idea is good and maybe with some capital infusion the next iteration will be the one.
I like the way he thinks.
If Y Combinator is backing them, then they have some very powerful investors who believe in the product. That is not a guarantee of success by a long shot, but it does make me pay more attention than I might have otherwise.
What about service?
You are so good at getting to the nub when you interact with people. Thanks for all you do.
Wow thank you so much this comment means the world to me 🙏🏻 so stoked you feel this way
Over priced and doesn't seem to cater to the taste of American consumers. Not that many Americans fancy those 'European' retro style.
Super interesting EV startup. Really hope they get to market because I must have one! Great interview BTW!
Ah wow thank you so much for liking the interview mean so much to me
Start-ups are great. I hope these guys can carve out a niche for their vehicles
Love the James Bond, old-timey vibes of these vehicles. Highly informative interview, professional, and as ever well produced. Smart smart questions throughout!
A Phil Rosen comment to make my night !!
Seriously respect you so much not only as a journalist, interviewer and storyteller but as a person! Thank you so much
Means the world from you!! And haha yes definitely fits ur minimalistic aesthetic
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day!
Thank you so much for being here Jeff!
can you make a video of samsung ecosystem like a video of google ecosystem.
Yes! 🙏🏻🤝
@@NBTJacklyn Thankyou 🥹. BTW love your content. Fan from BHARAT (India).🙏
@@vandanjain10thank you so much so grateful and honored u like it!! Just posted the Samsung video!!:)
i like the car idea and it worth watching the video and try to bring more tech interviews
Wow thank you so much so glad u liked the interview 🥹🙏🏻
Any specific people you want to see for future interviews?
@@NBTJacklyn sorry i dont know much about ceos. But you can try interviewing the upcoming companies or startups or any ai companies so that we can also know about the information. At present in india also many startups are growing so you cam bring out then.
IM SIMPLE WORDS. SUPARCARBLONDIE IS FOR LATEST OR FUTURISTIC AUTOMOBILES WHICH MANY UA-camRS ARE NOT DOING
IN SIMILIAR TO THAT YOU CAN TRY FOR MORE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRIES OR FUTURE TECHNOLOGY RELATED STARTUPS. SISTER.
THANK YOU FOR ASKING. I F YOU WANT I MIGHT CAN HELP YOU IN GIVING INFORMATION RELATED TO INDIAN STARTUPS in the Category you want to check out.
And i love you r channel because you try out every video in a different way.
I hope you got my point.
ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU SISTER.
Good video
thank you!
Awesome interview! Looking forward to their progress!
Thank you so much !! So grateful u liked it
I wish I could work for a company like this and help them design different retro future designs
Do you do design work?:)
@@NBTJacklyn i Love to Draw , i have lots of Concept designs for cars, i want to try to put them into a Video Somehow
@@NBTJacklyn i wish there was a way i could show you some easily through youtube
@@NBTJacklyn it would be cool to get those guys input on my designs to see if there is potential, i kinda got bummed out when A.i. started producing thousands of pretty good images within seconds and instantly if felt line years of my passion were for nothing

Interesting presentation, thanks. However, please observe the Safe Title Area when creating graphics.
Really appreciate the feedback thank you so much
Isn't that obsolete for modern displays and even the better CRTs?
@@NiHaoMike64 No, there are some TVs that either mask the picture or have overscan including at least one large Sony OLED model. My big Panasonic plasma's screen almost exactly matches the Safe Action Area. In other words, it doesn't show the area that a computer monitor does. I suspect almost all young people who do computer editing are ignorant of the concept of overscan and they don't know the differences between a TV screen and computer monitor's screen.
@@bjs2022 See if you can turn that "feature" off. OLEDs are popular with PC gamers and not being able to see the edges would make it unusable for that application.
Is this for real?
What do u mean?:)
Right? Absolutely absurd to even compare this to Tesla. Interesting idea but this is a novelty car company
@@chowner I feel like Tesla is the most popular reference point people have for cars so it’s the smartest benchmark/comparison
Who would you have liked to see this compared to instead?
@@NBTJacklyntesla is a good comparison. People forget that Tesla was in the red for many many years and not taken seriously. This company is no different. It's a good comparison and definitely highlights the difference between what consumers want and what companies give consumers.
@@MomoSchlomo absolutely isn't. Tesla set out with the mission to create affordable everyday Electric Vehicles. This company is making niche cars. Tesla will sell more cars this week then this company will ever make in a year
