This is an extremely personal song for Morrisette as it was written to her father who is estranged from her now. He's fractured the family so badly that they don't see each other and did not attend her wedding. I believe listening to the added cello to the song is why her emotions overcame her at the end. It's truly a beautiful song.

I see so few people seeing this performance and it should be a criminal offense not to know this voice world wide. She is HANDS DOWN the best female voice on the planet today yet like maybe a million people even know who she is. It’s an absolute tragedy for those people who don’t know but for whatever lucky reason like yourself I know her and thank god for that. What an absolute gift. And yes it’s her whistle. Lol.

@@second1387 I truly believe her emotional transference is the reason she is so addictive to those of us who really love her. That dynamic control she has is used to illicit those emotions from her listeners. It’s really a special quality. It doesn’t hurt that her voice itself is supernatural as well 😉
She wrote this song for her estranged father for 3 yrs now, you know a daddy's girl then,girl meets boy daddy doesn't approved,girl follows her heart then and now she married him,and what's saddening more was Morissette walked alone by the aisle during her wedding no one in her family attended but nevertheless she's happily married now with her love of her life.hope one day, one day they'll all be together as one big happy family, this too shall pass.
This is at least the 4th version of Love You Still from Morissette's EP. Every version has been a bit different but this version has Morissette mining very deep. The song is about her estrangement from her father and this version certainly captures that pain. Monet painted his water lilies many times, Van Gogh painted his iris's......thats what great artist do... keep digging and finding the truth!

I cried listening on Spotify version whilst reading the lyrics thunking her father and herself relationship.. it felt so different 😭
Love You Still holds a special place in Morissette's heart. It was her message to her estranged father and family; it was also her first composition as a songwriter, written together with her boyfriend, now husband, Dave. Together with four other songs -- Phoenix, Mirror, Trophy, and Will You Stay -- these comprised her first original work EP titled Signature. Though she has already different renditions of this song, this one hits differently, with the instrumental cello and piano, and a more mellow and delicate or intimate arrangement, that the artist herself was deeply touched by it, we can sense that she feels the pain and longing, that even she teared up while listening to it. Dave exclaimed after the song, "Ganda!" ("So beautiful" or "so good"), which shows that even the artists appreciate the beauty of their and their team's works. Thank you, BEL Development, for trying to explain the technicalities involved in the sound production such as the equipment used and the placements in the studio, etc. Kudos to Morissette and Dave, and the cellist and pianist, for a great job well done! 🥰

Just an fyi, this song is included in Morissette's EP album and all of the songs are original. What makes it very interesting is that she co-wrote most of the songs if not all. If I may suggest, check all of them as it showcase a variety of music genres not to mention the message of each of the songs are deep, just like this song. Enjoy!!!!

This is in my opinion the best version of this song. The addition of the instrumental (cello) really makes this tauntingly beautiful. Many critics of Morissette always faults not her vocals but that she doesn’t sing with emotions. My response to you critics is WATCH this performance and in particular 4.35 into this clip where she stopped and had to compose herself because it really hits home how much this song means to her personally.IF THIS IS NOT SINGING WITH EMOTIONS then I do not know what is!!

This one hits differently. It's such a sad song for her because i believe (during this video) that she's still estranged from her family. The arrangement of this makes it even more raw and painful and that's why she's crying in the end. The nuances and subtle changes they made is just so so so amazing. At one point, she went down quite low but it was so quick. This is my fave version for sure.

For all the haters who call her just another belter performances like this and Can you be Messiah and Drivers license and Moon river /Ushay show what a total artist she is. She can do what you can do but you could never do what she can do. That’s who she is….. The most complete talent in music today.

This has to be the most beautiful song (not one of the most beautiful but “THE” most beautiful song) I’ve ever heard. My favorite lyric “Do you still think of me when you sit down for coffee”, that breaks me every time. Love also the shot in the video towards the end when she’s stood behind Dave and her hand movements are in time with the Cello, that kinda told me she was instrumental in that part of the process and she loved it. Amazing, no other word can describe this song, absolutely amazing.

I think this song is about her dad. They had a falling out when she ran away with a boy and got married.
It would seem that our dearest Mori is being deliberately ignored by the controlling and influential elements of the western (US & Europe) music industry because she is a threat (market share) to their own talents, projects and investments.
Plain and simple.
It's not a loss( for Filipinos), it's great having her on her own turf(homeland), enjoying her beautiful songs, her vocal talents and sulking in her musical world,...we are lucky enough to have her here and showering us with those great renditions of her.
