These were happier days for PATD. Just an incredible band that caught lighting in a bottle yet not all the founding band members realized that at the time. I see a lot of similarities with the Beatles yet PATD did not have a Brian Epstein. Instead they had Pete Wentz, who is brilliant in his own regard, but not a force that was needed to maintain balance, harmony, and sometimes discipline to keep things together. I use to feel sorry for Ryan Ross but not anymore. He is a very talented song writer and artist but comes up way short of being a lead singer and front man. Ross is no John Lennon. He made some very poor decisions that I am sure he regrets now. What made Panic work? This is where the magic and talent of Brendon Urie takes over. He is now carrying the torch for what is left and doing a great job of maintaining their legacy.
Panic wouldn't exist without Ryan Ross. Not only was he one of the two "founders," he also orchestrated most of the lyrics for Fever and P.O. Not to mention his post-split endeavors, such as TYV and his solo work. TYV, unfortunately, came to an end, but the music that he and Jon were able to produce at the time is masterful both lyrically and musically. If you like the sound of "Pretty. Odd." and "the Beatles." Brendon's most recent album was really successful, both objectively and emotionally. However, he actually wasn't responsible for most of the production/songwriting. This is quite different from Ross's more intimate process. PFTW was definitely impressive, but it didn't all come down to Urie's work. Brendon's vocal range and style are definitely mindboggling. He has a beautiful and full stage voice. He's fucking incredible. Still, there's something so unique and charming about Ryan's voice. He sings a lot in Fever era performances, such as the "Nothing Rhymes With Circus" Tour. I think that's what it's called. His vocals have changed a lot over the years. In the early days, it was very open and boyish, and I think it really complemented Brendon's equally unique voice. Later on, Pretty. Odd. era, his stage participation was much more limited, so his voice is a little more difficult to pinpoint. Instead, we can turn to many of the studio recordings of "alternate versions." Behind The Sea is a great example. Ross's voice is much less powerful, and it takes on a reedy, more soft feeling. This sort of carried on through the split and into Take A Vacation. Last point. I promise. I'm not sure which lyrics on Pray can be attributed to Brendon himself, but many of the best lines included (The Overpass, for example) are strongly reminiscent to Fever themes. It's like he knew the band was better then. The album was very nostalgic. This shit is hard to make connections to because B didn't write most of it. So don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoy post-split Panic songs. However, I do disagree with your view that Brendon was somehow the backbone of the band. I think the split was good for everyone involved. Brendon took the vocal talent, Ryan took the poeticism of pre-split albums. I think Panic was better with four members (not 5, Brent was really unnecessary haha), but the individuals were better as exactly that. Btw "creative differences" my ass stop being shady pls thanks
Blame the people who b*tched about this album not being enough like Fever. A lot of why V&V turned out the way it did was because this album got so much backlash from their fans (Hell, there was even a controversy about them not using an exclamation point in their name on the album) and didn't sell very well. So Ross split and Brendon spent the next album trying to remake Fever. Keep in mind Fever was an almost blatant Fall Out Boy clone. And then after Fall Out Boy went pop, Beandon pushed Panic to follow because, again, Fever and V&V sold well because they were FOB clones. Pretty Odd was the one time Panic made a truly original, creative album, and their fanbase rejected them for it.

Back to the streets where we began Feeling as good as lovers can, you know Well, now we're feeling so good Pickin' up things we shouldn't read It looks like the end of history as we know It's just the end of the world Back to the street where we began Feeling as good as love, you could, you can Into a place, where thoughts can bloom Into a room where it's nine in the afternoon And we know that it could be And we know that it should And you know that you feel it too 'Cause it's nine in the afternoon Your eyes are the size of the moon You could 'cause you can so you do We're feeling so good Just the way that we do When it's nine in the afternoon Your eyes are the size of the moon You could 'cause you can so you do We're feeling so good Back to the street Down to our feet Losing the feeling of feeling unique Do you know what I mean? Back to the place, hey Where we used to say Man it feels good to feel this way Now I know what I mean Back to the street, back to the place, Back to the room where it all began Back to the street, back to the place, Back to the room where it all began 'Cause it's nine in the afternoon Your eyes are the size of the moon You could 'cause you can so you do We're feeling so good Just the way that we do When it's nine in the afternoon
I don't think parents understand that, out of all our phases, panic! Isn't a phase. That sticks with you for life. After a few years and you forgot about panic! If a song comes on the radio, you're gonna jam.
So you try to tell me you used to listen to it a lot, then forgot about it but now whenever you hear it you still like it ? Thats literary the deffinition of "a phase"
It even influences my music taste to this day. Pretty odd got me into psychodelic pop and I continued that with "the Young veins" (what Ryan and jon did after panic!) And went from there with the brobecks ( the band run by dallon weeks before he joined)
Am I the only one who adores Brendon's eyes, hair, and pajamas in this video? His eyes are beautiful in this! And his hair is cute! Like Paul Mcartneys hair!
Fun fact, This song is an ode to psychedelics, and they came up with the song name while they were high on mushrooms. I believe it was spencer who said “Man, I don’t know why, but it feels like nine in the afternoon.” They all started laughing, because mushrooms make you laugh at everything, and it eventually turned into a song name
Not me bawling my eyes out because I never got to see one of his concerts in person 😭. This is the first song I ever heard from him in 2012 and I have been here with him ever since then. From beginning to end.

ryan... it's ryan ross
@Sabhyata Singh no chill 😤 ryan wrote it ✨
@Sabhyata Singh Shouldn't the credit go to the writer for the lyrics?
Playing this song and hear my 16 year old daughter saying "hey, that's Panic at the disco" followed by here showing all the songs she has of them on her phone... finaly my efforts to teach her some good music starting to pay off
Except this never happened...
@@theclassic6198 This *IS* music.

whos here after the breakup announcement. 😭
Ps. This is my first PATD fave song. Its been 14yrs. Thank you for the good times PATD!
The reason I rewind this video so much is because of all of the cute/weird faces Brendon makes 😂
Nessa W. Haha same!
Take a moment to admire the beauty of everyone's mustache.. oh and Brendon's hair..
BRENDON LOOKS LIKE DAN HOWELL
josh-has-no-talent PHAM
YAS THANK YOU FOR THIS
These were happier days for PATD.
Richard Dowdy (,:
Richard Dowdy please tell me more! I'm intrigued
Nowhere near this kind of stuff though
P!ATD*
Panic wouldn't exist without Ryan Ross. Not only was he one of the two "founders," he also orchestrated most of the lyrics for Fever and P.O.
Not to mention his post-split endeavors, such as TYV and his solo work. TYV, unfortunately, came to an end, but the music that he and Jon were able to produce at the time is masterful both lyrically and musically. If you like the sound of "Pretty. Odd." and "the Beatles."
Brendon's most recent album was really successful, both objectively and emotionally.
This was their last good album, idc what anyone says. This was peak panic at the disco and after this......I'm gonna cry. I miss this.
I agree. I wonder what the 3rd album would've sounded like if they stayed together and compromised
Brendon: "Into a room where it's nine in the afternoon!"
Me: So... 9pm?
Irina Rakhshah Well he didn't say 9 in the morning.

42ZERO GANG *They're
I think they're just trying not to make any sense since this was influenced by The Beatles and some of their songs don't make sense
I wonder how many takes it took for Brendon to get the tumbling around the room scene right, given as it is Brendon, he probably fell on his face multiple times...

Of course 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Im listening to it in 2024 and it’s nine in the afternoon.
Back to the streets where we began
Feeling as good as lovers can, you know
Well, now we're feeling so good
Pickin' up things we shouldn't read
It looks like the end of history as we know
It's just the end of the world
Back to the street where we began
Feeling as good as love, you could, you can
Into a place, where thoughts can bloom
Into a room where it's nine in the afternoon
And we know that it could be
And we know that it should
And you know that you feel it too
'Cause it's nine in the afternoon
Your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can so you do
We're feeling so good
Just the way that we do
When it's nine in the afternoon
Your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can so you do
We're feeling so good
Back to the street
Down to our feet
Losing the feeling of feeling unique
Do you know what I mean?
Back to the place, hey
Where we used to say
Man it feels good to feel this way
Now I know what I mean
Back to the street, back to the place,
Back to the room where it all began
Back to the street, back to the place,
Back to the room where it all began
'Cause it's nine in the afternoon
Your eyes are the size of the moon
You could 'cause you can so you do
We're feeling so good
Just the way that we do
When it's nine in the afternoon
Ooooow thanks )))
Thanks
i love you oh my god
I don't think parents understand that, out of all our phases, panic! Isn't a phase. That sticks with you for life. After a few years and you forgot about panic! If a song comes on the radio, you're gonna jam.
So you try to tell me you used to listen to it a lot, then forgot about it but now whenever you hear it you still like it ? Thats literary the deffinition of "a phase"
literally every single thing that you do in your life is a phase by definition
It even influences my music taste to this day. Pretty odd got me into psychodelic pop and I continued that with "the Young veins" (what Ryan and jon did after panic!) And went from there with the brobecks ( the band run by dallon weeks before he joined)
why do you think they still listen to the beatles?
Literally been listening them for a solid 12 years now.
Remember the Black Parade? This is them now
Feel old yet?
lol i now feel old
Hahahh... isn't a joke supposed to make sense?

I really miss the old Panic! At The Disco :( This music video makes me want to cry.
Awww
It is pretty cry worthy
Am I the only one who adores Brendon's eyes, hair, and pajamas in this video? His eyes are beautiful in this! And his hair is cute! Like Paul Mcartneys hair!
+Hallie Kowitz same!
+Kesomo Yep!
He looks like Oliver from hannah montanna
Yes. Beatlemania lives on!!!
Yeah
Fun fact,
This song is an ode to psychedelics, and they came up with the song name while they were high on mushrooms. I believe it was spencer who said “Man, I don’t know why, but it feels like nine in the afternoon.” They all started laughing, because mushrooms make you laugh at everything, and it eventually turned into a song name
like it even more now
I thought it was LSD
