Any tips on how to study for the exam? I haven’t paid attention all year and completely forgot what my teacher taught us in the earlier units. Now, I’m struggling on everything. I did plan on reading the chapters in the textbook, but then there are way too many pages.
I’m in a similar situation as you and the best advice I can give is to ditch the textbook. I thought about reading the textbook too until I realized it was too much, so instead what I’ve done is just watch Heimler’s reviews on each of the units for my class (and if you can, I recommend a review book too, but that’s optional), as well as reading some documents that relate to the units as it not only helps with analyzing texts but it also helps reinforce ideas that I’ve learned in the units. Also, try not to memorize every little detail. Of course you should know some details about the time periods like innovations, religion, interaction, etc but it’s important to know how each of the cultures relate to each other rather than seeing them as independent stuff going on in the world
Watch a ton of videos and take notes. I'd recommend getting a sheet/doc and writing down PIECES (Political, Innovation, Environment, Cultural, Economics, and Social) for each important region in each unit (1-9). For example, one cultural characteristic of Asia in Unit 1-2 is the continuing spread of Buddhism in Asia. A social characteristic of it would be foot binding in China, gender roles/patriarchy due to fillial piety, etc. I'd recommend writing these down on a doc or flashcards (preferably handwritten bc if you're doing the digital test you can use it) along with important key terms. You don't need to know everything -- you just need to know at least a few specific examples for each PIECES theme for every unit so that you can use the example for elaboration in an SAQ or outside evidence in a DBQ. Also, here is a great resource: docs.google.com/document/d/147GsaT2hs2BC9UfY_yydq6Cu0Le7bRdUYfQIdyjCLAU/edit . There's Kahoots, Quizlets, review packets, etc. My teacher also really recommended that if you could only get one reivew book, get Heimler's packet.
i agree with the above people, also instead of the PIECES thing my class is doing something a bit different: we have a graphic organizer with 9 columns of units 1-9 and 5 rows for americas, africa, asia, europe, and middle east. inside each box, we wrote the most powerful empire and social, political, and economic (SPE) changes/continuities due to it. though you'll need to do more research (heimler vids, fiveable pages, collegeboard vids) to get the detailed stuff, ive found it helpful for remembering the overall occurences in time periods. you got this! :):)
Thank you for all of your resources and support. Could you create a video where you model how to write a paragraph for the documents that you grouped for your topic sentences?
If, for example, you got a prompt asking you to evaluate the extent to which the industrial revolution affected people’s lives and some of the docs portray positive impacts and the others show a negative impact, would you write you a thesis like “although it may seem like it was bad, it was actually good” or like “although it may seem like there was a minimal effect, it had a variety of positive and negative impacts on people’s lives”
i think you should go with something more like the first one, because with the second one it doesn't really make sense since the industrial revolution obviously seemed to have a huge effect on people's lives. or you can do something like, "although the industrial revolution was mostly seen to have an effect on the economy and manufacturing processes, with the * insert first example of how it affected people directly * and the * insert second example of how it affected people directly *, the industrial revolution had a variety of positive and negative impacts on people's lives"

Consolidation of power means it was a way to show power for the British since the Indians did not like the railroads. He was able to deduce the document because the high caste Indians were complaining and sharing that the railroads are bad to the British. The British were in control since they wrote the letter to them. Hope that helps!:)
