Genius. Power Gear for Classic Megaman against Mavericks
Power gear is coming.
I always thought if Mega Man ever appeared in a MMX game, he would take double the damage from attacks, and his Buster would deal half the damage as X's, because he's a robot made 100 years ago and it would be almost impossible to upgrade him genuinely... basically being a "very hard mode" for the game, but Mega Man could have the advantage of using different Adapters to balance himself out(namely the Jet, Power, and Super Adapters)... HOWEVER, the Double Gear is also a very good thing to give him!
enemies cant take less than one unit of damage from an attack, so nerfing his buster damage would be the same as just never using charge shots
Canonically, Mega Man would probably have a hard time against anything from X's time due to the extended use of Ceratanium. It would be like if every enemy/boss was like Hard Man. Furthermore, he would definitely take more damage from their attacks than X, and he probably wouldn't have the wall jump either. However, I can definitely imagine Mega Man being able to gain an edge against his opponents. If he was able to use Dr. Light capsules, he could be equipped with a buster capable of doing enough damage to compete against Ceratanium armored enemies, and just as usual as soon as one boss goes down the rest fall like dominos.
Fun concept. Maybe Roll can be that hard mode as the Marvel games have her have all of Mega man's official moves. I don't think taking more and dealing less damage should be a thing though. I just think every other shot should do damage if uncharged to avoid the "less than one unit" damage issue and invincibility from getting hurt should be reduced to increase the chance of double hits.
As a way to balance it out, Roll should be super small and enter areas no one else can by sliding.
We kinda just figure that X and co would upgrade Rock to 21XX's standard weaponry
@@hawshimagical I guess that would render his pellets entirely useless since only his mid/full charge shot could deal any actual damage
but I was thinking more about doubling each enemy's HP, and then doubling each playable character's attack output, so the attacks can work in a 2/2 fashion, that is mathematically the same as 1/1... except for Mega Man, who would be 1/2 since he is far behind them
this method would keep the math as consistent as per usual... with Mega Man being kinda left behind, I guess...

Yeah, I expected him to have the Wall Jump from Powered Fighters but not the X Style Wall Kick.
We felt it necessary in order to make bosses and levels beatable by all characters. Every boss and level in the X series is designed with wall jumping in mind.

You know what would make this even better?
That when Mega Man completes the level, he does the pose from the title screen of the Japanese version of the first game, like in Mega Maker.
I am fascinated with the Sprites and with the Double Gear Sistem, excellent work!
I always wondered where they got that from...
I think the pose he does at the moment is based on his victory pose from X Dive, which is the main inspiration for Mega Man in this (hence the wall jump and slide dash).

This makes me imagine how Megaman 7 would be if it had been developed, taking Megaman X as a base. By the way, you plan to add Protoman, Bass and Duo as well.

Protoman has been confirmed. We haven't said anything regarding Bass and Duo.
MegaMan needs the gear system in order for him to keep up with the Mavericks design. Also love how X probably taught him how to wall jump.

Well Bass.EXE is in here so that's very likely to happen, Maybe Colonel.EXE and Protoman.EXE and of course Megaman.EXE with a armor system like X does for his armors but its Style change from MMBN 2 and 3

PD: las armas de los jefes se ven bien, aunque recomiendo bajarle los usos al "Lightning Bolt" ya que se podría abusar fácilmente de esa técnica. sigan adelante ¡Gran apoyo a su trabajo!

No se compra, si revisas el canal, vas a ver algun video que contiene una version descargable del juego, NO vas a encontrar ni esta versión ni las que se ve en los ultimos videos, porque siempre se toma un tiempo antes de cada nueva "Demo descargable", pero si que vas a encontra una bastante aceptable.
Classic Megaman isn't strong enough, to stand up to the Mavericks of the future...he's outdated technology!

Woah I’m absolutely impressed to see how not only you put the original megaman in an X game but how well it fits well and gameplay is exciting! I always disliked the slide but you made it function just the same as X’s dash! Also love the gear system implemented! If this isn’t made into a full fan game it would be a great shame!
Technically the slide making classic Mega Man speed up doesn’t make sense. His feet are in front of him. How does a machine propel himself forward like that? When X dashes his boots are behind his body and accelerate him forward which does make sense.

The double gear is what sold me here! I also assume you picked the MM&B arsenal because it’s 16-bit, which I’m not complaining about at all, since it’s one of the best arsenals in Classic MM.

His sprites are actually based off of the mm&b sprites, But i agree, 11s Rock is the coolest!
The Burst Chaser sliding is not very odd, but Classic Mega Man being able to wall jump is cursed.

This is just absolutely amazing. The gameplay style is how I imagine the next mainline Mega Man game to look. Taking the best elements from all the previous sprite-based Mega Man games and roll it all into one. Shredder's Revenge and Sonic Mania showed that there is still a real market for fluid 16-bit style graphics.
