My daughters lip would split down the middle, it would heal and split again. Doctors had absolutely no clue what to do, literally didn’t help us at all (not surprised with the bunch I have). After trying the majority of chap stick type stuff I tried mixing coconut oil and petroleum jelly together and it worked! I have no idea if I should have done that but I figure the coconut oil moisturizes and the jelly protects. As far as I’ve been lead to believe lol
That's actually a great idea! The only thing I wouldn't do with this, (and you may not even be doing it) is I wouldn't premix a large amount and store it. That can mess with the preservative systems of the products since they weren't designed to store like that. Just wanted to add this in case, or in case anyone else wants to try this out and thought about premixing.
(Oh, and another tip: if you don't have coconut oil, a regular moisturizer or hyaluronic acid/hydrating serum applied under petroleum or something occlusive works similarly)
Coconut oil really fills in the cracks and petrolatum jelly really locks in moisture. Once their lips is in a healthy area, I'd recommend mixing brown sugar and some honey. You only need a SUPER SUPER, SUPER small amount (because lips are small).
You should try lanolin
Recently my lips were so severely dry and crusty while I had a cold. I only put on a very moisturizing lip oil and it healed my lips in days.
People make their own balms that way. Coconut oil is amazing for everything, skin & hair.
As a luscious lipped human, I'm a fan of the Seraphine Botanicals Papaya + Baume Glow lip mask. I've been using it for a year now and it's never disappointed. It's a glossy balm and it's actually nourishing (I know! I was surprised too) Try it out 👄🙂

I have two of these lip balms! The shade’s Poppy (orange/red) and vanilla beige (light brown). I really use them as lip glosses. They protect my lips a little bit though
I have those exact shades and wish I’d picked different ones 😅
I'm a fan of Revlon Kiss Lip Balm in Tropical Coconut. It's clear, feels glossy and smells great.
If you don’t want your lips to be BRIGHT red I think you should either go for Mint or Vanilla which are clear, or if you want a hint of pigment go for pink k sugar (I have it and it’s AMAZING!)

No summer fridays are the best
Summer Fridays lip balms are pricey but they are very nice and comfortable on the lips, obviously it transfers all tinted lip balms do (expect ones that specifically say otherwise) so that comment she made was irrelevant plus their tints actually give off color payoff unlike other tinted lip balms. You can definitely find a lip balm just as good for less though of course but if you’re on the fence and have the extra dough, at least get ONE and try it!

I use the I Dew Care sleeping mask. So much better than Laneige. It ticks all the boxes for me… vitamin C, exfoliating acids, and moisture. (And it’s vegan & cruelty free!)
Is transfers because it’s a lip balm it’s supposed to moisturize, usually lip products that are transfer proof are more drying
I am a lip balm fanatic! I use it all day, every day! Not the addictive kind. But, since I'm a lip licker from way back, my lips get dry🥴I don't want my lip balm to be lipstick, and I don't want lipstick to be lip balm. One or the other people💗🦋💗🦋💗

Try Phyto-Lip serum! From Phytoskin!!!! It has no sweeteners and it's so good!
If your lips are dry and chapped you definitely should be using lip balm, but specifically i recommend aquaphor but the squeeze tube type not the solid one, as long as you use it regularly and consistently with a thick enough layer it’s absolutely perfect
I got a mini vanilla one and a mini jetlag mask for my bday gift from sephora. I really like the jetlag mask as a moisturizer, but im super disappointed in the lip balm. It just wasnt enough for my dry lips. I ordered 2 of the Naturium lip balms and their lip mask, and im sure ill like them, ive never disliked anything from them🎉

ok so ik you said it smears and transfers but you actually have to like it sit for like 30 minutes and then it will go into your lips,if u try it put me in the video 💗

I really love Ere Perez SOS marmalade when my lips are feeling dry and cracked. Also CF and Vegan and the tub is huge!
Natrium has the same exact ingredients and is cruelty free and vegan and it's half the price as a summer fridays. It does have a little bit more pigment but that is it

Summer Fridays is a little thick and sticky imho! I love the scent/taste though. I prefer Laneige I get good moisture and the color isn’t as vibrant. ❤
Do you recommend Elizabeth Arden's eight hour cream? I use it all the time on my lips overnight and it literally is magic, I swear by it.
My dermatologist told me that scents in lip products are drying. I know everyone loves them but it’s best if companies give you the option of no scents.
I have the same issue, but I found a mixture of aloe vera gel and aloe vera juice in an empty lip gloss tube has been helping a lot. Maybe try that? Definitely cheaper

My friend has 3 summer Fridays and I was asking her if I should get them and if it’s worth it and she said it’s horrible. Even tho it’s aesthetically pleasing it last about 25 minutes and sits on top of your lips and just puts gloss on them and one of her summer Fridays has irritated her lips so much she threw it out happily

The squeezey ones from Burt bees are very dissapointing too. Super thin and wear off very quickly. They feel like I rubbed canola oil on my lips. Very sheer color too. Upset i spent $10 on them.

I'm a lipstick or chapstick kind of girl. I have one tinted chapstick and that's it lol I don't like mixing what the product is meant to do. I feel like it usually misses both marks.

If you aren't vegan, try the Paula's Choice Lip and Body Balm and the Lipscreen. These are excellent unscented, unflavored products I've used for years, and I strongly recommend them.
The Dr. Bronner's Organic Lip Balm in the flavor Naked is also an excellent, unscented, unflavored non vegan product with beeswax.
I understand that Cassandra doesn't review or recommend products that aren't vegan, and I respect that. However, a very small percentage of the US population is vegan, so I would guess most people viewing her videos would be OK with products containing beeswax.
